《Peridot x Human!Reader》Chapter 9 - Walks with Friends and Movies

A few weeks had passed, and slowly but surely, Peridot had become closer and closer to you. You two were very good friends by now. Both of you had spent time trying new foods, watching movies, playing video games, and doing other sorts of activities.
When you had taught Peridot about video games for the first time, she was intensely interested in the devices that were involved. Playing them had become one of Peridot's new found hobbies that she liked to do to pass time with while you were at work.
Today though, you did not have work. You and Peridot had decided to watch a new movie. You both agreed on a comedy and went out to the movie rental store. before you left home though, Peridot had scurried to your room to put on clothes for cover up. She didn't want to take any chanced on running into Steven and the Crystal Gems and being recognized. As she slipped on your favorite beanie, which you had pretty much already let her wear at any time now, you had called her name from the front door.
"Peridot! Are you ready?" You flung the scarf around your neck loosely. it had started to become colder in the weather now. "Coming!" She called back. She hopped to the door as she slipped on some of your loose yoga pants. when she made it to the door, you couldn't help but giggle. She was so adorable, wearing your hat, t shirt and a jacket of yours almost too big for her frame.
"What are you looking at?" She asked questionably. You just bent down and hugged her. "You're just so cute, Peri!" Peridot's face burned brightly at this. "I am not!" You ignored her complaints and smiled down at her.

"Oh, hush. You know you are." you waved to her as you opened the door. Peridot had realized she had grown to like you quite a lot. She knew she was supposed to be on a mission, but you had become a growing importance in her daily life. She was starting to wonder if she even wanted to go back home. She had grown accustomed to you so well by now.
She didn't know, but you had also slowly grown to the little green gem. She was very important to you, and you cared about her very much. It made you slightly depressed when it came to your thoughts that this wouldn't last forever, and Peridot would eventually get back in contact with whomever she needed to talk to. You still weren't sure about her circumstance, but you didn't want to force her to tell you, so you didn't ask.
As you two made your way to the store, you had decided to get playful and run up behind Peridot, picking her up easily and swiftly, twirling her around and laughing loudly. She complained and squeaked the entire time. "H-hey! Put me down you pebble! What do you think your doing?! Put me down!" She may have been squealing, but you knew she wasn't really upset about it. Her pride just wouldn't let her accept it without complaining first. "Oh come on, Peri! It's fun." You smiled at her as you continued walking, keeping your grip behind her head and the other hand under her legs. She stopped squirming, but her face stayed a light shade of green throughout the embrace.
You two had eventually made it to the video rental store, and you set her down, giggling a little as you did and smiled down at her. She didn't say anything, but her cheeks stayed green as she gave a small smile back at you.

You two sifted though the videos, showing each other ones you had found interesting, and laughing at the ones with funny covers on them. At one point, Peridot had pulled out a movie on it that had an interesting cover to it. She had pulled it out and showed it to you. "Hey, (N)... What are they doing? what is this human ritual?" She asked as she pointed to the cover of a couple kissing passionately.
You stiffened at this awkward cover, but realized she would have to be explained this at some point if she was going to be on Earth for at least a while. "W-well.. it's kind of difficult to explain.. When two people like each other a lot.. they do..." You pointed at the picture before the both of you. "That." You finally finished. "It's called 'kissing'. You do it with a certain special person." You explained.
Peridot nodded at this as she examined the picture closely, listening to your words with interest. "Special person." She repeated softly. You smiled weakly as you went back to looking through more movies, picking out one that you think the two of you would like. "Okay Peri. I picked mine. Which do you want to rent?" You asked.
She had kept the movie in her hand as she examined it's front and back. "This one?" She asked without looking at you. You choked a bit at first, but then nodded. "Are you sure?" She nodded back deftly and went to the front desk, moving up on her tip toes to push the movie forward to the lady behind the register. You set yours down next to hers and payed the rental fee. "If that's the one you want, then okay." as you shrugged lightly.
On your way back home, Peridot held the movie close to her as she walked by your side in silence. She had something on her mind, that's for sure. You wasn't sure what, but she seemed to be mulling over some thoughts. You kept quite as well, letting her think in peace. You hummed softly as you made your way back.
When you got home, you took off your coat as Peridot quickly went to your room and made her way behind her curtain. "Thank you." She called out to you softly for the movie. You smiled in her direction. She sure was an interesting one. That's why you liked her though.

The Creature from the Dark (HIATUS)
What happens when the protagonist of a story isn't even remotely human? This story is about a fairly intelligent but ignorant creature and the chaos brought into its simple life by the first encounter with humans it has ever had. I intend to take it fairly slow. I hope you enjoy it. :)
