Naruto was given a room to stay in during the extra time they had. Sakura and Sasuke got one too. They weren't alone though, Garra and his two siblings got there first. Soon followed by Neji, Lee and Ten Ten.
Naruto hung around his room. He remembered the scroll having a small slip of paper on it. He snuck it into his jacket pocket before handing it to Sasuke. Naruto took it out and read the two words written.
' Ichiraku Ramen '
Naruto sighed and hid it under his headband and laid in his bed.
A soft knock was heard coming from someone on the other side of his door and Naruto closed his eyes.
"What is it?" He groaned.
"Oh I was just checking in on my students." Kakashi walked in, his eye making a U shape, signaling a smile.
Naruto shot out if bed and hugged him tightly, tears forming in his eyes. Kakashi was a bit taken back but closed the door and hugged back gently.
"IT WAS HORRIBLE!!! I HOPE I NEVER HAVE TO RETAKE THIS EXAM AGAIN!" Naruto yelled.
"Shh...it's okay I'm here." Kakashi said soothingly.
"I-i was eaten alive...i-it was awful...i-i was covered in its saliva, its juices, its blood...and His blood...I had to slice it from his skin...his blood was all over my hands but I had too. Sasuke can't suffer any more. He lost his entire clan, what else does he need to endure? But all he gave me was an awful stare...she shouted at me...as if I ment to kill him. A-all I d-did w-was protect him from t-the mark." Naruto choked out the last part." All I was trying to do was help!" Naruto cried.

"Woah woah woah!" Kakashi bent down." Orochimaru was in the village?" Kakashi asked.
"Mhm...He removed my mark...and tried giving it to Sasuke but I sto-!"
Naruto was interrupted. Kakashi yanked him into a tight hug.
"I'm so glad your safe." Kakashi actually started to tear up.
Naruto cried into his Sensei's Chest...The sensei he loved dearly. Kakashi hugged hugged his student. The one he couldn't live without. Naruto calmed down and grew tired, nearly crying himself to sleep. Sasuke walks in and blinked.
"Is he okay?" Sasuke asked.
"Yeah, just stressed. You should have thanked him for getting that mark out, and not stare at him as if he were harming you." Kakashi stood and looked at Sasuke with an angry look.
"I was just shocked is all. That and he literally without warning carved a chunk out of my neck...but it's healed, medical Ninja healed it." Sasuke sighed.
"..." Naruto walked over to his bed and laid down.
"Naruto needs rest...you do to. Go to your room come on." Kakashi walked Sasuke out and shut Naruto's door and walked off with Sasuke.
Naruto sighed and threw his headband across the room and it hit the wall and the ground. Naruto threw his jacket and laid there with an angry and disturbed look. He eventually fell asleep and woke the next day.
Naruto opened his eyes and swore he saw someone run out of his room. Naruto stood and inched towards the door until something wrapped around his body, holding him tightly in place. Naruto panics and tried to yell but a hand wrapped over his mouth and, not letting him yell. Naruto was constantly trying to free himself, causing him to shake. Naruto was met with yellow eyes and he stopped struggling and went frozen.

"Good boy." Orochimaru chuckled."Now...I want you to kill the person you fight against. I rigged the selector to pair you up with one of my sound ninja." Orochimaru looked at him.
"I-i will never!" Naruto gasped.
"Unless you want...perhaps Kakashi to be marked?" Orochimaru raised a brow.
N-no don't!" Naruto gasped
Orochimaru smirked. "Then kill the one your against." Orochimaru then vanished.
Naruto fell to his knees and growled. He eyed the ground with a hate full look.
"I swear I'll kill him." Naruto hissed.
Naruto walks out of his room and walked to the long staircase leading down to the training rooms this place had.
"!!??" Naruto was shoved over the ledge.
He fell and Naruto yelled and infused his chakra into his hands and feat. Naruto landed roughly on his hands, knees and feet. Naruto winced and coughed, the wind being knocked out of him. Lee and Ten Ten jumped and looks at him with shock. Hinata turned and gasped.
"N-Naruto!" She yelped and ran over to him.
"I-im fine." Naruto smiled slightly and tried to stand only to hear a snap, followed by pain. "AHHG! MY HAND!" Naruto yelled and held his hand.
"Are you okay?" Lee walked up to him.
"Lee, he is an enemy, leave him be." Neji growled.
"But he is hurt, from the same village and appears to be kind." Lee frowned and kneeled next to Naruto.
He picked uo his hand and Naruto winced and flinched, afraid that he was going to hurt him but instead he only showed kindness. Lee examined it before getting out some bandages.
"Its a clean break." He sighed and began to wrap it up. Hinata have him some pain killers.
"Thanks. Your Lee right?" Naruto asked.
"Yes, Rock Lee! STUDENT OF THE BEST SHINOBI IN THE HIDDEN LEAF VILLAGE!" Lee smirked proudly and gave him a thumbs up.
Naruto chuckled." Wow you sure are positive." Naruto chuckled.
"Thanks! You seem like a worthy opponent Naruto." Lee helped him up.
"How do you know my name?" Naruto raises a brow.
"Oh, I heard her call you by your name...that and I've heard people talk about you." Lee explaines.
"Ah. Gotcha." Naruto smiled.
"I'm ten ten." Ten ten smiled.
"Want to be friends?" Naruto asked quickly.
"Sure!" Lee smiled.
"Okay. You do know we are your enemy in this right?" Ten ten asked.
"It doesn't matter." Naruto hugged them.
Naruto then ran off to find Kakashi, instantly forgetting about Orochimaru.

Epoch: An NPC's Tale
Epoch is a slow-burn LitRPG/Gamelit novel that tells the story of Luke, later named Lucius—a natural inhabitant of the game-like realm of Elyssia where thousands upon thousands of detached, virtually unkillable entities known as the Players were suddenly introduced right after the dusk of the magnificent Age of Heroes. Shortly after the Players arrived, the balance of power in Elyssia instantly shifted. Kingdoms fell, wars were waged, alliances between races were made, and Lucius, after ten years of training in captivity, found himself being used as a pawn in a prophecy that he had no intention to fulfill. With aspirations and desires of his own, Lucius must find a way to cautiously adapt to the drastic changes in the very foundations of the realm after being sent 300 years into a future that was forever altered by the outcome of the war that his captors had lost and the Players won in a victory that resounded throughout the ages, all for a terrible price. Author's Note As an avid fan of the LitRPG genre myself, I wrote this novel with character progression, heavy Gamelit elements, and some degree of world-building in mind. If you like these, please feel free to give this novel a try. Oh, and the MC is also an NPC, in a sense. And wait, isn't this also an isekai story? Well, it's all a bit complicated to explain here. Maybe you should start reading now?
