Thomas looked at you a little worried. He wanted to know what you and Luda had talked about. He didn't like how you seemed a little off put. Then again, everyone was a little bit off at the moment, including himself.
You looked at him with a reassuring smile.
"C'mon, it can't be long now..."
Thomas nodded to you and glanced up at the floor above you. You could both hear Luda pacing around. She was scurring back and forth, cleaning up the downstairs. There was little to worry about upstairs so she focused herself on making sure the downstairs looked perfect.
You sighed a bit and grabbed Thomas's sleeve, pulling him to the other side of the basement. You felt more at ease over in his actual room. It was better than sitting out in the open with all the tools, tables, and blood from former victims.
You drug him along until you sat down on his bed, him sitting down with you. From outside your heard a loud crash followed by several more. You knew that somehow it was the wreckage of your truck causing the sounds. You sighed. Well, so long to that truck. Not like you liked it or anything.
Minutes later when the crashing and loud metal bangs stopped you heard the upstairs door open as Hoyt and Monty came in. You trailed their footsteps. One went left and the other right. You shook your head and looked to Thomas.
He was casually sitting there, just looking around. You had to smile somewhat. He was kind of like a big child at times. He caught on and looked at you. He gave you a confused look as to say 'what?'. You laughed a little bit and shook your head.
"Oh nothin'."
Thomas grunted and looked away. You looked down and glanced over at his arms. You eyed the scars again. Finally, you reached over and ran your finger down the length of one.

Thomas flinched and looked over at you. You quickly drew your hand back and looked up.
"Sorry, I just..."
He looked at you.
"...how did you get them?"
Thomas sat there for a moment before he turned away.
"Oh...um, sorry...I didn't know it was like that..."
Thomas shrugged his massive shoulders and grunted. You paused. Why hadn't he ever shown you his face?
"Hey, Thomas?"
Thomas grunted.
"...why haven't you ever shown me your face?"
Thomas looked at you and froze. He stared at you for a moment before he turned away again.
"C'mon, tommy, it can't be that bad."
Thomas shook his head.
"Don't you trust me or something?"
He paused for a moment and glanced at you from the corner of his eye.
"Thomas, I'm not gonna make fun of you."
He still watched you but never moved. You bit your lip and slowly reached up towards his face. As you laid your fingers on the leather, Thomas shot up and grabbed your wrist. You jumped and pulled your hand back but his grip was strong. He turned and stared at you with dark eyes.
You froze and struggled to pull your wrist back. Thomas slowly let go of your wrist and turned away. You pulled it back quickly and pinned it up against your chest.
"I-I'm sorry..."
He wanted to show you, he really did. He was afraid you would reject him like all the others did. All the others that had called him a freak...retard...monster...creature...
Maybe you would be different. Maybe he would be safe showing you. Maybe you would except him. You had already, hadn't you? At least, it had seemed that way. Not once had you called him one of those names, not even once had you made fun of him. So why was it so hard to show you?

Thomas gave a loud, heavy sigh before he turned back to you. He raised his hand up to his muzzle and ran his fingers over it. You watched curiously as he paused for a moment, his hand still rested on it. He looked at you for a moment before he nodded and reached behind his head with both hands.
He undid the straps in the back and held them in place for a momentg before he slowly pulled them down. He let it down, exposing his face. He hung his head quickly, his black mass of hair acting as a curtain.
You looked at him cautiously.
"Thomas...Thomas look at me."
Thomas hesitated and lifted his head a little.
"Tommy..."
He sighed and looked up at you fully. You were taken aback.
Thomas had the same scars. The ones that were carved into his arms were also on his face. They ran around the corners of his mouth and all along the sides of his face in random. Some were larger than others and some were just small nicks. He had a larger one that ran across his nose.
You eyed them. He really didn't look that bad. You could have even said that he looked good. They actually fit him in a way. Why had people been so cruel to him?
You carefully placed your hand on the side of his face. He looked up at you with concern in his eyes. You tilted your head a bit and smiled at him.
"Thomas, is this what you were afraid to show me?"
He looked at you for a moment and looked away.
"Thomas you look fine."
He looked back at you. He studied your face, looking for something. You really weren't turned away by them? Thomas sat there for a moment. He liked the warmth of your hand on his face. It was reassuring to him.
He pulled his head away and you lowered your hand. He stopped for a moment before he raised his muzzle back up and re-did the straps in the back. When he was done, he looked back up at you and gave you a single nod. You gave him a nod back as there was an understanding of why he had put it back on.
"Thank you..."
Thomas looked at you for a moment before he nodded. You gave yourself a small smile as you looked at the ground.
You both sat in silence until Thomas gave a loud grunt. You looked up at him and he jerked his head to the floor above you. You looked at him in worry.
B/n was here.
