It started when I was in year seven. I got my hair cut extremely short, to prove that people can be different and there isn't or shouldn't be an issue with that!

It backfired immensely on me.

One of the worst experiences I had, as a one off (I've had worse continuous ones) was athletics day. I wasn't entering in any of the events, as I didn't deem myself fit,quick or worthy enough (a trait I picked up from a bad childhood) .

I sat with my two bestfriends at the back of the carnival just talking. The soon to be bully, had been staring at me strangely at me all day, I had noticed, but I'd chosen to ignore it. Then the bully and one of his friends sat behind us. I didn't think anything of it until a can of soft drink was thrown at me. I shrugged it off, throwing it back at the laughing boys, not wanting to really play their childish games but playing them anyway.

Then came the insults.

"Do you have herpes on your legs?" (I had sores on my legs as a form for a way to deal with anxiety, I'd scratch them)

"Ew your so fat, why do you look like a boy? Are you lesbian? How ugly are you? " etc.

My friends gave me sympathetic glances, telling me to ignore them.

Mind you, these bully's were at least 2yeads older than me.

In the end, I got up on shaky kegs, sick of being the victim and screamed at them, cursing them and crying. They started laughing at me, as some other bystanders stood in to tell them to stop. I ran to the office crying my eyes out, never feeling so pathetic before

ADVICE: Never let anyone make you feel Insuperior! Stand up for yourself in a way you don't become the bully, always be careful of that.
