This is a story of a girl, a girl back in third grade elementary school. She had a lot of friends and hung out with kids in different classes as well, she even decided to join the city cheerleading squad.

That's where it all started.

She met a girl and that for was very kind, they clicked and a friendship began to slowly blossom. They found out they went to the same school and eventually by the fourth grade they had the same class as well. Slowly they began to get more distant as the other girl began to hang out with a new transfer student, leaving the girl all alone. But don't worry, she still had other friends too.

Fifth grade came and she dropped out of cheer due to her no longer feeling comfortable there. She had started getting teased by the same girl who was once her best friend alongside the transfer student the other girl left her for. They began spreading rumors during the middle of third grade about the girl, "She stuffs her bra with so much tissue, it looks so fake." "Did she flunk a grade or what? Is she really that stupid?"

The girl was the youngest in the class.

They talked about the girl as if she was never there, as if they pretended they didn't know she could hear. Now it came to the point where the other girl and the transfer student would push her out of the lunch line, "You're fat enough, why are waiting to get more food?"

The girl never had time to eat in the morning since she was always late to class.

"Fat ass."

"Oink, oink. I think I hear a pig walking by."

"Look at her shoes how long has she had them? Does she not have money?"

"Disgusting, look at her breathe."

"Look at her scarf that food down, no wonder no one likes to be around her."

"Get out of the way, I'm surprised you even fit through the door."

She had enough, she went to her teacher and told her what has been happening and it took her the all her left over courage to do so.

"The other girl? No, she would never do that."

All her hope was crushed within seconds.

"You snitched didn't you, rat?"

"I can't fucking believe a little hood rat like you thinks out teacher would help, you."

The next day she had told her teacher once more, "Well alright, I'll bring them over and we'll all have a talk, okay?"

The teacher never believed the girl from the start.

"Is it true that you are bullying this girl?" "No! Why would I ever do that? That's so dumb, we're just having some fun." "We were only messing around."

"See I told you, she would never do that, try to not take things so serious okay?"

It was all over for the girl, when she got home she saw her mom. Ran to her arms and balled her eyes out. Finally telling her parents what has been going on ever since third grade, the rumors, the teasing, the name calling, and the shoving.

Soon the girl found herself being called out of class along with the other girl and the transfer student.

The girls mom waiting silently next to the other girls mom, and the transfer students parents sitting in the waiting room of the office. The girl and the other girl were said to go inside the Vice Principals office and to sit beside their parent.

The other girl was confronted by the Vice Principal and she denied every single accusation.

Her mom looked just like her.

"I think that girl is lying, my daughter would do nothing of the sort. I didn't raise her to be this way. My daughter comes home everyday telling me that that beat of a girl harassed her for a long time. I want her to be expelled, immediately."

And acted the same.

The other girl was given a warning, "If this girl comes back here to my office because she's still being harassed by you after this confrontation, you will be suspended and I'll put it on your record."

The other girl and her mom left us in the room, the Vice Principal let out a long deep sigh. "I feel sorry for the parents who still act like kids, and their kids eventually come out just like them. Don't worry you'll be fine now. It will turn out okay."

The girl wasn't bullied anymore for awhile until she entered middle school, the other girl was in all her new classes.

She sat next to her in each of them too.

The bullying started all over again until the girl finally realized that she was the bigger person here.

Physically and mentally.

The next week she made sure to let her dad know that he may get a call home about her getting into a fight. He was fine with that and she gained the courage to stick up for herself.

After all the years of her feeling like a piece of garbage, a ghost of a girl. She decided it was time for her to do what was needed to do.

During class the other girl sat in her seat beside the girl and within three minutes of class it began.

"Hey pig, I see you've gotten bigger. In all the wrong places."

"My my my, you're still stuffing I see, how disgusting."

The other girl elbowed her on the left side of her torso and that was it, it's self defense for the girl now.

She fought the other girl and beat her good seeing how she sported a black eye and a swollen cheek a week after her suspension.

The girl was finally free, and it was never bullied from then on, but still is insecure and has heavy depression. She's told her parents multiple times in seeking a therapist because she wanted to get the help, but two years went by and they did nothing.

Later on it's now eighth grade, the girls grown up to a teen. And she went to visit her Grandmother, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins up in the Valley over holiday break. She never really put much thought into it but she never expected it to happen in the first place.

The place she slept when it came to be night time was with her older cousin. They shared the bed together and he wouldn't mind so she didn't either. They were family to begin with so what's the big deal?

She was molested by her cousin, every night she went to bed he did it every night. Until it was time to go back home. She felt dirty, unpure, violated. And reported it to the police, tells her parents only a day before the police heading down to her school and questioning her.

He never got caught, he was never punished for his actions to the girl.

The police said it was due to lack of evidence, but she was all the evidence they needed.

Her Aunt, his mother, and her Grandmother act as if it was never true. They pretend it never happened, he's still there. The girls cousin acts like he me eddies such thing, and tries to speak to her on their now less frequent visits. "Hello."

"How's school?"

"Do you need help?"

She can't stand it anymore.

The girl is back to feeling like garbage, back to feeling like a ghost.

She's more depressed than ever.

"It's all in your head, you have more good memories than the bad. You just need to stop dwelling in the past and move on." Her dad tells her this every time she asks to go into therapy. Even to this day.

That girl is me, and if you stick through reading this very long story I thank you for that. My story is only a fraction of what others have gone through and I'm glad I stumbled upon this book because I find every person has a right to share what happened to them.

And please, stay strong, win this fight.

It is tuff! It's very tuff to find the strength to get up out of bed, to eat, to smile that fake smile. And to hide the feelings you're feeling. But please don't, there are people who will listen. There are people who can help, trust me.
