《Unexpected Fondness┊saiki k x m!oc》cinque┊Chapter 5

The next week, Saiki was back from his trip. He had gotten back before the weekend, but he wanted some kind of peace before he had to come back to school. So, he thought it would be best not to tell Asher he was back yet.
However, his efforts weren't worth much, seeing as he met Toritsuka that weekend.
Anyways, it's Monday. Saiki decided to ignore Asher's messages this morning, just because he rather not deal with that.
'It's not like I'm trying to surprise him. He may take it that way, though... It doesn't really matter.'
Somehow, Toritsuka met him in the building. The two of them don't even share the same class, so he wondered why the purple hair male insisted on following him with his (Toritsuka) annoying rambling.
"... so, basically, you should just help me look up a few girls' skirts! Just help a friend out!"
"Never."
"Seriously--!?"
"Saiki!?"
'Good grief..'
A brunette male ran up to the pink haired boy, disregarding the other standing next to him completely. "You didn't tell me you were coming back so soon!"
'It's been a week.'
"You should've fuckin' answered my texts this morning, I got worried you idiot."
"Do I ever answer your messages that early..?"
"Yes! Yes, you do! Like that one time, and.. that other time."
"You aren't that smart."
"Shut the hell up!"
Tortitsuka looked between the two guys as they talked as if he didn't exist at all.
'Saiki seems close with this guy. I wouldn't have thought he would have friends.. or, they might be dating! Is Saiki gay!? Is that guy gay!?'
'I hate you.'
'More ladies for me, then!!'
'Good grief...'
"Saiki!" The boy shouted. "Who's this guy? I didn't think you'd have friends."
Asher raised an eyebrow, turning his attention to him (Toritsuka) now. "The fuck does that mean? Also, who are you?? I haven't seen you around before..."
'Probably someone irrelevant.'
'Very irrelevant.'
"He's someone I know-"
"Don't be shy, Saiki! We're best friends, you can call me Asher," he wrapped an arm around the pinkette's shoulders, the smaller of the two doing his best to push him (Asher) away.
"Best friends!? Wow, Saiki! You've got a super hot-looking dude as a friend-- teach me your ways."
"'Super hot-looking'? Are you gay? I don't like puny boys like you..."
"Haah!? No- no way, that's not what I-"
"It's okay. It's a safe place with just us."
"I DIDN'T MEAN IT LIKE THAT!!!"
It was midday now. A free period for the students now. Asher had spent all day bothering Saiki in class- whether it be by whispering to him in class, or throwing small objects to him.
He would even slip a note or two to the pinkette with the dumbest shit written on it.
Anyways, Saiki was hoping for a break now. He left the classroom after Asher did, in hopes the brunette had gone to do his own thing.

'Oh shit- my guardian spirit!? That's so cool, I wanna do that! Helllll yeaaahhhh--'
All the pinkette could do was groan internally. He walked into the hall to see several girls swarming around Tortisuka, the purple haired guy telling each one what their spirit was.
And it was attracting some guys too, seeing Kaidou and Asher in the crowd.
"Hey! What's my guardian spirit?!" Kaidou question, seeming confident in who/what he would have.
'It's probably some fierce, mythical creature from years ago that nobody could even begin to imagine having! Something strong- cool- awesome! Just like me!!'
'At least he has some self-confidence.'
"Mmm.. so, who wants to know their spirit next!" Tortisuka completely disregarded the other boy in front of him.
'That guy- better pay attention to Kaidou, who the hell does he think he is?'
'Why're you so protective over Kaidou..??'
"Hey! Me, do me!" The blue haired boy was persistent, and his persistence prevailed.
"Hmmm.." the boy with a headband turned to look at him. "Your spirit is kinda like you... a chihuahua."
It was silent for a few, passing seconds.
"HAHAHA! I CAN TOTALLY SEE THAT!" Asher laughed out loud.
'Why is he so loud?'
"Shut up, Asher! It can't be right, you're lying!"
"Nope. One hundred percent true. It's a chihuahua."
Asher was laughing to the point where tears slid down his face. "A... a chihuahua..!"
"Ugh... well, let's see your guardian spirit, Asher! Mine is probably way better than yours."
'I doubt it. Anything could beat a frail dog.'
Tortisuka shrugged, walking in front of the tall brunette. He observed around him, his eyes slowly widening.
"Did.. you have an older brother..?"
"Huh? No. What are you talking about?"
The purple haired boy scratched the top of his head, staring a the ghost floating behind Asher.
"Well, he looks like he could be related to you. He's young, black hair, green eyes... he kinda seems like a delinquent like you- I'm kidding!" he raised his hands up in defense as he continued to stare at, what they assumed to be, Asher's guardian.
'Black hair..? I don't think I know anyone with black hair. Maybe an old relative or something I don't know of...'
Asher shrugged it off. "Must be a cool dude, to be as hot as me. Looks like I win, Kaidou." He pulled the bottom of his eye down and stuck his tongue out at him. (Refer to Hikaru and Kaoru from OHSHC)
'So childish..'
Now, it was time for Home Economics! Yay, cooking!!
Asher was hoping to be partnered with Saiki, so he could impress the pinkette with his amazing skills, but luck wasn't on his side.
Instead he was with Teruhashi and Yumehara.
'Just my fuckin' luck.'
'I think we both have bad partner. Good luck.'
They were told to cook crepes, which Asher thought was the simplest thing to make ever.

"Alright, ladies," the tied a pink bandana onto his head. "Are you ready?"
'Ugh! Does he think he's better because he's also attractive!? No way will I let myself fall for his looks! I will make him say 'oh wow' today!!'
'So persistent..'
'Wow... I never realized we had such a hot classmate!'
'Ugh..'
"Y-yeah! I'm ready, Asher-kun!"
"Please- please drop the fucking 'kun'... it's so weird."
"Oh- okay!"
'So assertive!'
The three of them worked together to make the crepes. They went with something simple, making the filling of just berries and whipped cream.
Though, they made several mistakes because of Teruhashi's several attempts at woo-ing him.
"Look, Asher! I've cut up the strawberries~" she showed off the fruits on her cutting board.
"Wow..."
'He said it! I WIN--'
"These are cut so fucking bad. What the hell happened- did your bandana fall over your eyes or somethin'? Holy shit.. whatever, it doesn't matter."
'W-WHAT!?'
'That's actually a little funny.'
They finished soon after. Asher was such a control-freak in the kitchen, so he ended up doing most of it.
"Damn, these look like shit..." he clicked his tongue as he stared at the three plates in front of him.
[three plates of "almost"-goregous berry crepes]
The two females beside him were confused. It looked good...
They took their plates and took a bite. It definitely tasted good.
"Asher, what's so wrong with them? They aren't that bad." Yumehara questioned as she grubbed on her food.
The brunette shook his head. "The coloring of the crepes are off.. and the strawberries aren't cut even. The cream could be a tad smoother, and the raspberries' different sizes and colors kinda throw it off.."
'Is he a professional chef or something?'
"It's fine. Thank you for helping me, you two." he gave a soft grin to them before grabbing his plate and walking away.
'OH NO, HE'S HOT!!'
He approached Saiki with the plate.
'Maybe he can eat my... crepes.'
'What was with that pause?'
Asher noticed the crepes that Saiki made and pat his shoulder. "Those look pretty damn good, Saiki! I didn't know you were such a pro cook."
"I'm not, I just enjoy making things I like."
"Of course, of course... well, try mine!"
"Why? Did you poison it?"
"I would never do such a thing to my beloved's food!"
"Okay... but you didn't even eat any."
"It's fine. I put my all into it because I wanted you to eat it."
'Such an idiot.' For some unknown reason to Saiki, his hands were burning red, along with his ears.
He took the plate from the brunette, grabbing a fork and taking a bite out of the treat. He almost moaned from delight.
'I hate him so much. Why is it so good?' Saiki struggled to keep a straight face as he ate.
Asher just observed him as he (Saiki) ate, looking to see if he could read his expression.
'Does he not like it..? I mean, I could've done better. Maybe I should've gone with something less basic.'
"It's good. So stop staring at me while I eat, it's weird."
He jumped in shock. "Seriously? You really like it?"
"Yes, idiot. Now let me eat in peace."
Asher grinned widely and practically skipped away, muttering happy curses to himself.
'He liked my food! He actually liked my food!!'
'Sometimes, he's like a child...'
Asher had planned on asking Saiki to eat lunch with him and Koboyasu, but as soon as they were dismissed for lunch, he was gone.
'Maybe I should just look around.'
He walked around the halls for a bit, a brown bag in one hand while the other was hanging on from his belt loop. While exploring the halls, he saw a door that was cracked open. It was dark in the room, but it was very clear people were in there by the voices that were admitted.
"... we are the Kokomins! And we will do anything for the sake of our Kokomi!!"
'That blue haired bitch? What a bunch of weirdos.'
'I agree.'
The group went on and on about the blue haired girl, but he wasn't focused on that. Asher was trying to figure out what they were talking to.
'Is that person tied up? How diluted does your mind have to be to go this far..?'
'I didn't think you knew what 'diluted' meant.'
'This is so boring...' he rolled his eyes.
As soon as he was making his way into the room, was when the group had actually decided they wouldn't do anything to Saiki. But it was too late for them.
"Saiki..?"
'Good grief.'
"What are you doing here, peasant?" one of the randoms asked.
"... I don't know who you think you are, but I will murder every single one of you if you lay a hand on Saiki again."
Shivers ran down all of their spines. Even Saiki dropped a few bullets of sweat.
"O-okay-- we're sorry! We didn't do anything, we're sorry!!"
They all went running out of the room.
"What a bunch of goofs.."
"I could've handled that myself."
Asher clicked his tongue, walking over to Saiki to untie him from the chair. "Yeah, right. These ropes are tied tight, and there were so many of them."
'If I were an average person, you would be right.'
"You're okay, right? They didn't do anything to you..?"
'He shouldn't be worried so much over me.'
"I'm fine. Like I said, I could've handled it."
'Just because you can do things alone, doesn't mean you should..' Asher held back the comment, his eyebrows pinching together as they walked out of the room.
"Why were you here in the first place?"
"Uh... oh! I wanted you to eat lunch with me- but class is gonna start soon. So, maybe we can go out to eat later. My treat."
"Sure."
The brunette laughed. "Great. Let's head back to class, then."
'Yeah...'

The Unsorcerer
DISCLAIMER: The cover pic is not my original work. Credits goes to the Illustrator. This is a story of a man named Cipher, a 21st Century man reincarnated in a world where magic is the way of life. In the continent of Iarica, the people of this land are able to wield the crystals or magic stones for whatever purpose they desire. These people are called "Sorcerers", blessed individuals who are favored by the Gods and gifted with an ability to manipulate "Mana", the energy of the World and the energy source that makes all of the machines run. Cipher in contrast, is not. He is an "Unsorcerer", a person unable to wield the crystals and mana and eventually magic itself. Because of this "defect", he is shunned, ridiculed, and abused by most people and eventually by the whole society. Little did Iarica and her denizens know, this so-called reject of society is more than what he seems... Note: This humble Author-san is not a native English speaker, so there will be grammatical errors. Also the chapters are short, about 1K words. However I will try my best efforts on reaching the 2k-4k words threshold. Another note is that this will be a Harem fic, so to anyone who are not fan of the genre this may not be your cup of tea. Any criticsm are welcome as long it can help me to improve my writing skills since I'm just a newcomer in this scene.
