《Unexpected Fondness┊saiki k x m!oc》diciannove┊Chapter 19

After almost an hour, Asher woke himself up. His eyes scanned around the room to find a head full of pink hair, which was sat in front of the tv in the room.
"Already awake?.." Asher muttered, more to himself if anything.
Saiki flinched slightly from the voice, standing to his feet. "Let me change your bandages before you go."
"Huh?" He slowly sat up from the bed, rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand. "Why do I have to leave so soon?"
"Because my parents don't know you're here."
The brunette groaned, but was compliant as Saiki replaced the old bandages for new ones. His body was feeling much better than from the day prior, but not fully at 100% yet.
Asher was ushered out of the house as soon as Saiki was done, only recieving a jacket to cover his bare top.
'Maybe he'll let me see him later..' Asher shrugged, walking back to his house.
It was still quite early in the morning. He assumed his mother would still be asleep. He unlocked the front door to his house, stepping inside and locking the door behind himself.
Asher yawned, scratching the bandages around his chest as he stumbled over to the kitchen. He grabbed a water bottle out of the fridge, taking a drink of it. When he turned around, he clenched the water bottle tightly, the water splurging out and spilling on himself and the ground.
"Great, fuck me.. Ma? Why're you awake so early?"
Her angry expression was replaced with worry when she saw the condition of her son. "Oh God.. what happen to you? Your face.." She took his head into her hands, but he pulled away.
"It's nothing, I'm fine," he dismissed. He grabbed a kitchen towel, dropping it onto the puddle on the ground.
"It's not fine, Asher. You have bruises everywhere. What were you doing yesterday?"
He groaned. 'Not this again.'
"Nothing, you should know I can take care of myself by now."
"Take care of yourself?" She repeated, frowning. "You're telling me coming home beaten, what looks like, half to death is taking care of yourself!?"
Asher rolled his eyes. "Yeah, mom. I'm not dead, so there shouldn't be an issue."
"I want to know how you got yourself into this mess! You were doing so well!"
"What's that supposed to fuckin' mean, mom!?"
She crossed her arms, shaking her head. "You know damn well what I mean. You need to stop fucking around!"
"You're saying it as if I want to end up like this!"
"Well what am I supposed to assume if you don't tell me shit!?"
Asher scoffed. "Maybe because I give a damn about your wellbeing and don't wanna worry you about my shit."
"Don't give me that crap."
His mouth went agape. "What.. you know what? Fuck you."
His mom gasped lightly, watching as he walked away. "Excuse me!?"
"Fuck you! I'm trying my fucking hardest here, but it seems you're as blind as a fucking bat! Get off my ass!" He stormed upstairs into his room, ignoring his mother as he slammed his door shut.

His mother banged on his door a few times before giving up and leaving the house, presumably, since he heard the front door being slammed.
"Fucking shit.." he muttered, gripping his hair. "Crazy as hell.."
He sat on the edge of his bed for a while, staring off into space as he kept replaying the whole fight over and over in his mind. His leg bounced anxious, and he subconsciously started to poke and press down on the small bruises he had.
"I'm such an asshole," he came to the conclusion after almost a whole hour of thinking. His mom still hasn't come back- and probably won't until a while.
Asher sighed, grabbing his phone to message Saiki.
chat name:

my mom bought coffee jelly
so hurry before i eat it all
Asher let out a breathy laugh the messages he recieved. He was already starting to feel a little bit better.
Asher arrived at his crush's home, a warm welcome being giving to him by Saiki's mother. Even though she could feel the unsettling aura around him, she offered him a cup of coffee jelly with a smile before sending him up to her son's room.
Asher gave a light knock before walking in, quietly shutting the door behind himself. Saiki had just finished his own cup of jelly, seeing him place the empty container down beside his bed.
"What's wrong?"
"What do you mean?" Asher poked at the sweet, yet bitter, treat, sitting down on Saiki's bed.
"You didn't come back for no reason. It's obvious."
The brunette clicked his tongue. "Maybe I just wanted to spend more time with you."
"That could be it, but reading your messages and looking at your face, I believe otherwise," Saiki shrugged. "What's wrong?"
Asher let out a mixture of a groan and a chuckle- which sounded very weird. "You can read me too well, Saiki."
"It would be weird if I didn't, seeing how often we're together."
The two went silent. Asher would occasionally nibble on his coffee delectable.
"Are you going to tell me?"
"Oh," Asher grinned nervously. "Right. Basically, my mom and I got into an argument when I got home because of.. y'know, the bandages. And I told her to fuck off-"
"What!?" Saiki was in complete shock. Not once would he ever come to think that a child would speak to their parent in such a way. It was.. crazy. It's practically suicide!!
"Yeah.. I get pissed off easily, especially when she scolds me about fighting. I don't do I because I want to, I just always get myself into trouble somehow.."
"Then why don't you just tell her that?"
Asher clicked his tongue. "Do you think I'm a dumbass?"
Saiki didn't answer.
"I- okay. Anyways, she doesn't believe shit I say."
"Maybe because you're saying it mid-yelling. If you take a chance to talk to her while you're both calm, you'll be able to work it out."

Asher sighed, placing his elbows on his knees as he leaned forward. "I guess so. But I feel as if that'll make her worry more. She's already stressed as it is."
Saiki hummed softly. "It's better than keeping your relationship damaged. If you don't talk to her, it'll slowly crumble and you won't be able to fix what was broken."
The brunette glanced over to the boy that sat beside him, a smile slowly growing on his cheeks. "You sound like a therapist."
"I'm just doing what anyone would."
"Yeah, yeah," Asher sat up straight once again. "Thank you, Saiki. You're amazing."
"Right.."
Asher scarfed down the rest of the jelly, placing the cup to the side. "I don't want this trip to be a waste. So, how about we watch a movie or two before I go?"
Saiki shrugged. It wouldn't be too bad to watch a movie with him. After the dream he had, being around Asher made him a little nervous. But, this would be fine. They're only watching a movie.
"Like I will continue to keep saying, that movie will never grow old."
They finished watching two "Spiderman" movies a few minutes ago. Asher can't even begin to count how many times he has seen these movies by now.
"What'd you think?" Asher looked down to Saiki. The pinkette decided to sit in front of Asher on the ground, while Asher was on the bed.
Only because Asher was trying to sneakily lay down and cuddle with Saiki, so he moved to the floor.
"It was nice." Saiki watched as the credits scrolled down the screen.
"Kaidou thought so too when I watched the movie with him. I'm glad you liked it!"
"Oh, really?.." Saiki said, a sarcastic tone to his voice.
"Huh?"
"Nothing, nothing.." The pinkette sighed with a shake of his head.
'Oh? Is he jealous?'
'Never.'
"You don't have to be jealous, Saiki. I'll make sure to choose a movie specially for the two of us."
"Yeah, whatever."
The brunette smiled softly. He carefully grabbed Saiki's head and pulled it back so they were looking at one another.
"What-" he was silenced by a kiss placed to his forehead.
"Kinda cool, huh? It's like a... Spiderman kiss," Asher chuckled, releasing Saiki's head.
Saiki leaned his head into his own lap, one hand placed on his face to cover his blush while the other was on the ground to support him.
'That.. was just like my dream.'
"Anyways," Asher moved around Saiki and stood up. "I should be going now. I want to make sure my mom gets home safe. I l... I'll see you later."
Saiki watched from the ground as Asher gave him a small smile, then walking out of his bedroom. He clicked his tongue.
'He should've just said it.'
By the time Asher got home, it was late afternoon. His mom's car was in the driveway.. and another parked along the street.
'Maybe mom came home with someone. Of course she did, she must have some kind of friends by now.'
He walked inside his house, taking a peek into the living room. It was empty.
The kitchen? Empty.
'They're probably in her room then...'
He walked to her room, knocking a few times before entering. And he was right, there was someone else sitting on the bed with his mother.
But that someone was unexpected.
"Kaidou's mom!?"
The two women turned to the boy at the door. The light blue haired woman sighed, pushing her glasses up her nose.
"Seems like I should be going now. See you at work, Sakae." The woman excused herself, eyeing Asher carefully as she walked past him and out the house.
The two went silent. They were thinking how to start the conversation, and quickly. The air was getting tense fast.
"I'm sorry, mom," Asher sighed, leaning against the door frame. "It's just.. y'know how it makes me feel when you talk about my fighting life and all that- and it's not even really my "fighting life". These randoms just come onto me, and I'm not gonna stand there and do nothing.
And, I feel as if you don't believe me because the way I act sometimes, but it's true! It's either I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time, or I'm sticking up for what I think is right. That doesn't excuse the way I talked to you before, but the way you push my reasons aside just really pisses me off..!"
He groaned, glaring at the ground as he balled his hand into a fist. He felt like yelling and crying all at once, but that wouldn't be rational of him to do now, would it?
He could hear his mom sniffle from where she sat. Her hands were on her face. "I'm.. I didn't even think of it like that. Ash, I'm so sorry. I forgive you for yelling at me, I could understand why you'd be angry. I just wanted what was best for you, and seeing you all bruised up like that.. it's so scary. It's terrifying seeing my son like that."
"I know, mom.."
There was a small silence again. "I'm just worried. But.. if what you say is really true, then I'll try and worry less. Just- please tell me if it starts getting out of hand. I can't lose you too, Asher, I can't..."
The brunette could feel his own eyes watering too. "I promise, ma.. I'll be fine." He walked over to her bed, giving her a soft hug. "Get some sleep, 'kay? It's your day off, you shouldn't be crying like this on your free time."
She nodded her head. He slowly pulled away and walked put of the bedroom, shutting the door before heading to his own room. He laid down in his bed, roughly rubbing his eyes.
'Ughh.. life is so fucking tough.'
He turned to lay on his side, grabbing his phone and scrolling through random applications. When he got to his gallery and saw a certain screenshot, he couldn't help but smile a little.
'But he makes it a little easier to live through.'

An Extra-Ordinary Story about Ordinary People
In a different world, a different reality, where ordinary people occasionaly have extra-ordinary powers for no particular reason, we follow a number of characters, trying their best to live in this strange yet normal world. We have our first character, a currently nameless but sentinent creature who happened to find himself in the body of a strange fungus after an unknown incident that robbed him of not only his former body but of his memory, as well. Secondly, we follow Smith, a high-standing man who doesn't even need to explain which Smith he is, on top of the world, yet human enough to meet said fungus. And thirdly, we have another nameless character, who is burdened by the ability to summon things that he doesn't want. A charming gang, who will (most likely) meet at some point. --- All and all, it's a twist on the common super-hero world, where all super-heroes have somehow dissappeared, but not the possibility for new ones. The series that feature the mushroom-dude are the 123 ones, the stories that feature Smith are the ABC ones, and the ones that feature our newest character, the summoner-dude, are the abc ones. Neat, huh? Also, just a word of warning? The 123 ones are kind wierd, and you can skip the first few chapters and go straight to the ABC ones without missing too much. But I'd rather you didn't, since i really enjoyed writing them. In ABC and abc, the format changes to a more typical form, with proper grammar and stuff. So if you dont like the 123, I'd love it if you gave the ABC a chance :^) Anyhow, I hope you enjoy it!
