《Our Eternity : Emmett Cullen x Reader》Testing The Gift's

As we stood outside Jacob and a new pack of wolves showed up, but a sudden running sound was heard through the forest. It caught all of our immediate attention, seeing as we weren't expecting anymore vampires. I grabbed Emalie and the others stood in front of us, Emmett by my side. Two vampires from Romania had appeared, one bleach blonde and the other dark haired.
"Vladimir, Stephan, you're a long way from home." Carlisle called out to them as they sat just outside of Jacob's reach.
"What are they doing here?" Kate snarled.
"We heard the Volturi were moving against you. But that you would not stand alone." The blonde one named Vladimir said.
"We didn't do what we were accused of." Carlisle explained with a shake of his head.
"We do not care what you did, Carlisle." Vladimir rolled his eyes.
"We have been waiting a millennium for the Italian scum to be challenged." Stephan smirked as he slowly spoke each word.
"It's not our plan to fight the Volturi." Carlisle said gruffly.
"Shame." Vladimir spat. "Aro's witnesses will be so disappointed." He said to his brother.
"They enjoy a good fight." The other chuckled.
"Aro's witnesses?" Eleazar stepped forward with a concerned look.
"Aww, still hoping they'll listen?" Vladimir cooed.
We went back inside the house so Eleazar could explain his concern.
"When Aro wants someone from a coven, it's never long before evidence turns up proving that coven committed some crime." He explained, knowing from his past what he'd witnessed, once being apart of the Volturi.
"So, he's done this before?" Bella asked.
"It happens so rarely, I never realized it was a pattern."
Jacob and I sat with Emalie across both of our laps.
"Apparently he always pardons one person whose thought's he claimed are repentant." Carlisle said.
"This person ALWAYS has an ability. And they're always given a place with the guard." Eleazar said.
"This is all about Alice." Edward said suddenly being hit with realization. "He has no one like her."
"Which is why she left." I agreed.
"Why does he need witnesses?" Henry asked.
"To spread the word that justice has been served." Alistair walked forward. "After he slaughters and entire coven."
Amun and his wife got up to leave. Afraid for their family.
"Benjamin, Tia, we're leaving." Amun looked down at the other two vampires.
"And where will you go?" Emmett asked with a angry expression. "What makes you think they'll be satisfied with just Alice? (Y/n) has a new rare gift, it could very well be her. What's to stop them from going after Benjamin? Or Zafrina or Kate? Anyone else with a gift that they don't yet have. Their goal isn't punishment, it's power. It's acquisition. Carlisle might not ask you to fight, but I will." Emmett stood to his feet. "For the sake of my family." He gestured to me as I stroked Emalie's sleeping head. And to the rest of the Cullen's. "But also for yours. And for the way you want to live."
Jacob took a breath and stood up carefully moving Emalie's feet from his lap.
"The packs will fight. We've never been afraid of vampires." He nodded and Emmett nodded back.
"We will fight." Tanya, Kate, and Carmen stood up.
"This won't be the first time I fought a king's rule." Garrett stepped forward.
"We'll join you." Benjamin stood up holding Tia's hand. Amun turned and looked at him incredulously.

"No."
"I will do the right thing, Amun. You may do as you please." Benjamin told him.
I stood up draping Emalie's arms around my shoulder and her little legs and around my waist.
"We will stand with you." Senna stood forward with Zafrina.
"So will we." The Irish pack of Vampires said.
Peter and Charlotte stood forward nodding at Emmett.
"That didn't take much." Vladimir said to Stephan amused.
"Let's just hope it doesn't come to that." Emmett said with a nod.
"We'll see." Alistair said.
Every person in the room showed courage. Though we knew that Aro's army was moving against us. Soon we would have to face the dark gifts of Jane, and worse, the paralyzing vapor of her brother Alec. He could rob you of site, sound and touch. We needed to devise a plan in case of a fight occurring. Having two shield's on our side was worth a shot, but training our gift's could take years and we only had less than a month left to prepare.
"Could (Y/n) just compel them to leave?" Henry asked as we sat in a circle discussing strategies.
"Maybe, but we don't know the extent of her gifts. I think it would be best for her to train them, but not show them. I fear what would happen if Aro found out that you could control people if you so wished." Carlisle said looking at me concerned.
"I agree, I think it would be to risky to rely on me. I don't know if I even could do any of that yet, or how to really use it. Let alone whether or not I can do it in group's or having to look at or touch one person at a time." I told them.
"Well, Aro will want us incapacitated before he attacks regardless. Jane and Alec will try to take me out first because I can anticipate their moves." Edward commented.
"To bad we don't all have your shields, then." Garrett chuckled looking at me and Bella.
"Doesn't help us fight, though." Bella said sounding a little down. I rubbed her arm sympathetically.
"No, but you could help the rest of us, if you could project it." Tanya said with a smile.
"Wait, we could project our shield's too?" I asked stepping forward.
"How? What exactly do you mean?" Bella asked stepping beside me.
"I mean shield someone other than yourself." Tanya said.
"It's like we've been saying about (Y/n)'s gift. They can certainly be developed to do such a thing. But it takes time." Carlisle told us all.
"At first, mine was just in my palms. Now, I can radiate it all over my body." Kate explained.
"How do you do it?" I asked her intrigued.
"Tell us." Bella grabbed her hand.
"I will if you stop crushing my radius." Kate said with a wince. Bella let go.
"Oh, sorry."
We walked outside to the woods so we could practice using our shield's.
"So, Mommy and Aunty Bella are special and have gifts to." Emalie said to Emmett with no surprise in her voice while holding Emmett's hand.
"Oh yeah, sweetheart. They're very special. Just like you." He chuckled.
"You'll need to visualize it. See how it moves. What color it is." Kate explained as Bella and I stood together. I focused on my body and my mind trying to picture whatever my shield would look and feel like. "Now picture it expanding. Will it to go beyond you."

I felt something. It felt like I was trying to stretch a rubber band. Like something as thin as a paper was wrapped around my body. I willed it forward slightly but it came snapping back and I sighed.
"I think they need some motivation." Kate said.
Edward and Emmett stood on either side of Kate. Jacob stood with Emalie watching us closely. Kate held out both of her hands ready to touch their shoulders. Bella and I stood in front of our husband's a few feet away, stances ready to try to protect them.
"Are we sure this is a good idea?" Bella questioned.
"It's alright. We can take it." Edward assured her.
"He says that now." Garrett said, knowing the feeling.
"Focus Bella. You too, (Y/n). Or your men are going to be hurting." Henry taunted.
I took a breath and focused. I focused solely on Emmett and thought what it'd be like to be able to protect him for once.
"Edward, I uh, don't think I'm ready for this." Bella said sternly.
Kate quickly placed her hands on their shoulders. Edward fell to the ground in pain. I felt my shield come out for a moment but it didn't reach him. The second Emmett groaned in pain, made me gasp and lose focus. Once they both were on the ground she stopped.
"I'm sorry! I said I wasn't ready." Bella exclaimed.
"I tried, but lost focus the second he was hurt." I said apologetically.
"Dude, your not motivating them." Henry scolded and the boy's groaned.
"You want to try?" Edward snapped back. Making Henry shut his mouth.
I focused again and felt the shield expand from my body and I could feel it wrap around Emmett. Kate started again, shocking Edward to the ground and Emmett looked pleasantly surprised. But after about a second or two I lost the shield and he was quickly zapped again.
"Better." Kate nodded at me. Bella snarled at her for hurting Edward again. "Hmm. They both have tremendous ability and I think we've only reach part of the potential. I think they're just lacking the right incentive." Kate said smirking and I furrowed my brow at her. Bella raised her brow as if to question what could be more motivating than Edward.
Everyone around us murmured in question. When Edward let out a low growl.
"Kate." He hissed at her, clearly hearing in her thoughts something that he didn't like. My eyes widened at the only thing that Edward gets protective over besides Bella. His goddaughter. My daughter.
"Emma?" Kate called and she perked up. "Would you like to come help your mother and your aunt?"
"No." I snarled.
Emalie skipped her way over to me and grabbed ahold of my legs. A bright smile on her beautiful face. Emmett walked over and held my waist only looking at me reassuringly. I couldn't believe he was looking like he was agreeing with this. Kate, and Zafrina walked closer towards us. Every step they took, I took one back. Emmett had let go of me and Bella joined my side. Emalie put her arm's in the air and I quickly grabbed her tucking her close to me.
"Absolutely not, Kate." Bella growled.
"But Momma, Aunty. I want to help." Emalie said as she placed her hand on my cheek. Showing me her reinforced desire to help. She wanted to have the two or three of us be a team.
"No." I told her simply.
Kate continued to walk forward.
"Stay away from us, Kate. I mean it." I told her as we continued backwards.
"No." She stalked forward at a slightly faster pace.
I tucked Emalie on my back so she was safely behind me. As Kate walked forward I could feel every ounce of rage building up inside me. Not a single person here knew the love and protection of being a mother. Kate hadn't realized how far across the line she had crossed. Bella being her biological aunt probably felt close to the same way I had. The three of us backed up and I felt my shield encircle us like a bubble. Kate took a jumping step forward, causing Bella and I both to snarled loudly.
"Be careful, Kate." Emmett warned. Kate had a smirk on her face and jumped the opposite way back towards Edward and Emmett. I watched as her hand lifted to touch the both of them and I expended my shield letting it wrap around Emmett, while Bella did the same to Edward. Nothing happened to either of them and they looked at us surprised.
"Can you hear anything from Emalie?" Kate asked Edward.
"No, nothing at all." He answered.
"You probably should give them some space to calm down. I know they don't seem their age but their still only a few months old." Emmett told her as she still held onto their wrists.
"We don't have time to do this gently, Emmett. We are going to have to push them." Kate said sternly.
"Back off for a minute." Edward demanded and Kate scowled.
Emalie placed her hand on my neck showing me images that Kate meant no harm and that Daddy and Uncle Edward were on it. That it was okay and I could calm down. Feeling her innocence, I calmed down but didn't let go of my shield. Emmett walked over to us again and hugged my waist.
"Do it again." I called out to Kate. "But Emmett only." I warned. She rolled her eyes and made her way forward towards us placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Anything?" She asked.
"Nothing at all." Emmett smirked and kissed my forehead.
"Can you see this?" Zafrina asked.
"I don't see anything I shouldn't." He shrugged.
"And you, Emalie?" She asked her and my baby girl shook her head with a bright smile.
"Do me." Bella commanded.
They both tried their gifts on Edward and nothing happened.
"No one panic." Zafrina said. "Let's see how far they can extend themselves. Raise your hand when you get your site back."
Everyone around us gasped and their expressions went blank.
Emmett took Emalie from my back and stepped away from me, my shield following them. I huffed and focused on the ones closest to me. Jacob raised his hand, then Kate, then Garrett. Bella held her focus on Senna, Edward, Henry. We both managed to include the rest as well. Once everyone rose their hands Zafrina held up her hands signally that she was done with a smile.
I let go of my shield and breathed heavily, feeling how exhausting it was to shield so many at once. Since becoming a vampire I'd never felt the need to rest before but I was completely exhausted.

The bombings and terrorist actions that follow throw the entire region into chaos and draw him inexorably deeper into a mystery involving cults, gods, and ancient mysterious races. These events threaten Veil’s carefully crafted plans, but there are few limits on his ambition. The need to face down his enemies and fulfill his ambitions will send him desperately searching from Forerunner ruins in the Great Northern Forest to ancient abyssal cities within the depths of the planet. _________________________________________________________________ The book is primarily fantasy with a steampunk background. Science fiction elements won't be introduced for quite some time. I currently update my work at a rate of one chapter per week. I'm also in the process of editing chapters 1 - 7, changing the format to make it more readable, and introducing more show and less tell. The reworked chapters will have (edited) after the title. All chapters after 8 have already been written in the new style. I have a Patreon page if you wish to donate. Also, there will be intense situations, some explicit violence, and although it is not an erotic work, one or two sex scenes.

Still it shouldn't be to hard right? All he has to do is go to a school, learn some wizard magic, make sure nobody takes his key... also avoid dying.
