《LACUNA ✰ BNHA》14: I PROMISE

In which [Name] spills the beans whirl watching Cars 2.
________
or where she was going, but her instincts told her to run as far as possible. Her phone vibrated in her pocket, but her senses had gone dull to the world's distractions.
When she finally tired herself out, she found herself on a small field. The gentle rays of sun soaked into [Name]'s (s/c) skin, but she was still as pale as a ghost. Long rows of Sunflowers stood swaying in the gentle breeze. In any other situation, the (h/c) haired girl would have found this scene calming, but now it seemed like she was being mocked.
There was no need for gentle breeze or sunflowers swaying in the wind. There was no need for sunlight soaking into her skin. She was distressed and nauseous. Why wasn't it storming and rainy? It would have fit her mood better.
She blankly stared at the field of flowers in front of her, the words of the news article flashing in her mind.
Although the information is covered, [Name] is said to have had the surname "[L/N]" before she had her name legally changed. Her previous surname links to tragedy incidents in other regions.
It was out. Not completely, but it wasn't long before everyone found out.
What [Name] had thought was in the past, what would never be brought up again-had emerged again. And it was like a dark shadow she couldn't fight against, always catching up to her, always sending a chill through her body, always making her blood run cold.
She remembered her mother's flowing, red hair. She remembered her mother's (e/c) eyes, gazing up at her for the last time. And then, she remembered only seeing black. Black dust swirling around her. Figures rising from the ground with horrific, demon like smiles. Blood, bodies, blood-
[Name] felt a dry and unnatural substance rising in her throat, stinging her flesh.
She clamped her hand around her mouth and choked it back down, feeling extremely panicked as she felt it. This was the first time she had felt it awaken for a long time. She would never be able to suppress it-it was a part of her, as much as she hated it. She wouldn't be able to get rid of it.
What if they found out? Her friends, her classmates-

Would they look at her differently?
[Name] felt tears brimming her eyes.
No, stop. You never cry. Stop being weak.
[Name] furiously wiped at her tears, causing the skin around her beautiful (e/c) eyes to become red and raw.
"[Name], holy shit!"
Said girl looked up to see Shinsou, out of breath and sweaty. It looked like he was genuinely concerned, which was a change from his usual emotionless self. He gently kneeled down on his knees, gently prying the girl's hands from her eyes.
"[Name]... I know you barely know me, but it seems like you're really panicked about this. You can talk to me if you want to." Shinsou said firmly, sternly looking into her eyes.
Maybe it was the comfort of not knowing him as well. Maybe it was the way the warm sunlight hit his face just right in a way that made him look like a true hero. Maybe it was how his sturdy and calloused hands were holding onto her soft wrists.
Whatever pushed her to, [Name] found herself spilling to Shinsou.
"T-they're going to find out about m-me, my friends, everyone-" She hiccuped before continuing.
"I-I can't forget the accident, I didn't mean to kill them, the memories just
k-keep coming back, in nightmares, in intrusive thoughts, sometimes... I-I see them in real life!" She sobbed.
"Woah, calm down! Killed who?" Shinsou asked gently, rubbing [Name]'s wrist.
"T-The people, everyone, the adults, t-the kids... There were n-none left, and it was all because of m-me... Because I had to go and f-freak out and that... That p-power awakened.... I didn't even know where it came f-from... All I remember are e-experiments...P-painful, torturous experiments.." She said frantically, jumping from thought to thought.
Shinsou furrowed his eyebrows. As much as he wanted to know more, it was more important that [Name] calmed down. Too much distress could put her into medical shock by causing her blood supply to fail to each her organs.
Shinsou gently wrapped his arms around [Name], glancing at her to make sure she was okay with it. Then, he gently pulled her into his chest and gently put a warm hand over her head, pulling her into his warm body.
He stayed stoic and silent as usual as he let the girl cry it out. Shinsou noticed her previously rapid heartbeat against his chest slowing, which was a good sign. Once [Name] pulled away, she sniffled lightly, a bit more levelheaded.

"S-shinsou, please don't think of me any differently... Whatever I told you, I'm so sorry-" The girl started to freak out again. She had told the purple haired boy about... Those people. Those people that were dead now, all because of her.
"Shh.. It's okay, I don't see you any differently. I won't tell anyone what you told me. I won't push you to tell me more, but if you ever need to talk to someone, I'm here. As much as I hate the Hero Class." Shinsou said. His face showed no emotion, but it was still comforting in a way. His straightforward personality let the (h/c) haired girl know he was being honest with what he was saying.
[Name] giggled lightheartedly and looked into the boy's dark eyes before wrapping her arms around his neck. He froze slightly as her slightly cold skin touched his warm neck. He then wrapped his arms around her, as much as it made the usually quiet and reserved boy feel a bit nervous.
"Thank you, Shinsou." [Name] whispered.
_________
After Shinsou had walked [Name] home, she collapsed on her bed, her muscles aching. Aizawa, who had gotten released from the Hospital early, immediately rushed to her. He was still covered in bandages.
"God, are you okay? I heard you got attacked by a villain from one of the police chiefs!" Aizawa said, almost crushing the tired (h/c) haired girl in a hug. She tensed up a little bit, shocked. Aizawa was never this affectionate with her.
"Oh I'm sorry. We're supposed to be taking this slow, huh?" Aizawa pulled away.
"No... It's fine... I like it." [Name] said, yearning for the warmth of a parental figure again. Her eyes threatened to gloss over again, but she had already cried enough for today, so she managed to push them down.
"T-they know... They know you're my father." She said, looking up at him with slight fear.
Would he be angry with her for being so careless with publicizing their relationship? Aizawa was the one who had asked her to keep it private because he didn't want anyone to think [Name] was getting an advantage over everyone else in school. [Name] prepared herself for the worst. Scolding, yelling... Maybe even worse.
Instead, his eyes softened.
"I don't care who knows. Let them know. It doesn't affect our relationship. I love you [Name], and my first priority is your safety."
Aizawa hugged her tightly again and the girl felt herself getting sleepier in his warmth.
The black haired man's heart warmed slightly as he remembered when she first came to him as a little girl, barely alive. She was a fighter, all right.
He gently laid her down and stroked her hair slowly. This was probably the most intimate moment the two had since she arrived in Japan, and he was happy, even though he didn't show it. They were making process, becoming closer.
One day, maybe soon, [Name] would finally look up to him as a true father. Although the pain of losing her blood parents would still sting, maybe her wounds would hurt less with Aizawa's familial love.
She had no nightmares that night.

Rise of the Business [Class]
'Rise of the Business [Class]' is a story about a world where humanity ended up fleeing through space, after suffering several great disasters at home. On arrival we crash-landed and were soon attacked by magic wielding civilizations who learned how to deal with our weaponry with a speed that belied their seemingly simplistic nature. We were lost. But eventually we survived by abandoning technology and adapting. But this tale takes place thousands of years later, after humanity has had time to rise and falter more than once. It tells of a time where we adapted too much, focusing only on combat and magic and learning to rely on the [System] that our ancestors built in order to compete and survive on this hostile planet with the others. This is a story about our final chance during a time when all of humanity is under siege again, where we struggled to adapt too late and ultimately had to learn how to summon a collection of people from Earth through time and space to come help - but not to the 'besieged time' but back a couple of hundred years - before it went too far down the wrong path, so they can hopefully change things enough to prevent a return to that timeline. Follow Livia as she is ripped from her favorite library and end up getting lucky, or unlucky? On her very first day on the Elderwood continent. While a trio of native lads excitedly leave home to find adventure, oblivious to how very soon they might end up entangled in the fate of the world. But the question that remains to be answered, that this first leg of the journey aims to find out; is what can a LitRPG bookworm like Livia do if called on to change humanity and prepare us all for the future, all before her 21st birthday? Find out soon, as we are finishing up book 1 in the coming two weeks. Cheers for reading this far, have a biscuit!
