In which [Name] not so sweetly dreams of endless memories (and blank spaces) of her childhood trauma
_______
But instead, the (h/c) haired girl being tugged along by her tense mother found the atmosphere unfamiliar and dark as she was traumatized with fear.
"M-Mommy, what's happening? Why did they hurt d-dad?" The small girl choked out in fear. The red haired woman looked down at her with love, stopping for a couple seconds.
"My baby..." She whispered against her child's (h/c) hair. Then, although her muscles were close to giving out, the mother lifted her daughter into her arms and held her close, relieving the little girl's bruised feet. And they kept running through the humid night.
The cold air brushing against the little girl's skin hit her at once, and she widened her eyes as her senses returned. Her father... Mutilated and soaked in a pile of his own crimson blood. The sight of his distorted body was too much for the girl to handle. It was so disturbing that her memory would blank every time she tried to think of it, the trauma causing her mind to forget.
The quirk-executioners banging on the doors, screaming for the young girl and her mother to step out.
The young, innocent girl, only 4 years old, who was seen as and treated as the devil himself.
"We're almost there, love. Just hold on." The mother whispered.
The angry yelling of the quirk-executioners grew louder and louder, as warning gunshots rang in the air. The mother's eyes widened with panic as she stood in a clearing, suddenly surrounded by people in black suits, wielding guns and weapons.
"[M/N] [L/N] and [Name] [L/N]. You are under arrest and to be executed for illegal possession of a dangerous supernatural ability."
"WE WERE BORN WITH THEM! WE CAN'T CHOOSE OUR FUTURES!" (M/N) screamed, as a last attempt to protect her child. But the quirk-executioners simply looked at her like they looked at everyone who had a quirk-as a freak of nature-and put on a gas mask.
Before [Name] and (M/N) could run away, darkness absorbed them.
A blurry fast forward, and the girl found herself in a room, her mother nowhere in sight. The walls were gray and gross, and although the poor child was cut and bleeding, her wounds were neglected by the ruthless quirk-executioners.
"I-I want my mom!" She snapped at the men, trying to put up a brave front.
"Just calm down, kid. This will only take a couple seconds.." The man said, lifting a remote.
With a flash of paralyzing fear, the girl realized she was sitting in a chair much too large for her. Her ankles and wrists were chained down with large shackles, and there were numerous wires going to the wall.
An electric chair.
"LET ME OUT!" The girl screamed, thrashing around. The man grimaced and his finger hovered over the button.
It was too late. Another young, innocent angel was going to die. Tears bubbling in her eyes, she clenched her jaw, preparing for what was to come.
"STOP." A firm voice said.
The pain never came, so [Name] thought it was safe to open her eyes. A man stood in front of her. He wore a plain, black suit. He wore something that looked like a black neck brace with rods on it, and although he had temporarily saved her from frying, she couldn't help but feel discomforted at his presence.
"Give her to me. I'll pay you well."
"Who are you?" One of the executioners sneered.

"That's not important. This is." The ominous man dropped a suitcase in front of the men. They opened it and widened their eyes. It was filled to the brim with cash.
"I suppose we could let her go.. What's the harm if one stays alive?" One of the executioners said hesitantly, looking at the other.
"Oh, it depends on her strength if she survives or not." The man said, and grabbed [Name]'s small wrist.
"NO!" The girl screamed, reaching out towards the hallway. "I'M NOT LEAVING WITHOUT MY MOM!"
However, she had no choice as darkness overtook her again.
This time when she woke up, the girl was in a blindingly white room. Locked there with only 3 small, unappetizing meals a day, she longed to see her mother and father again. But her father was dead and her mother had probably been executed. There was nothing keeping the girl going anymore-but deep in her heart, she never gave up the instinct to escape and survive.
3 or so days went by, and the girl found herself growing used to her life. It was either this or the electric chair, and she wasn't being directly harmed by anyone or anything. Sometimes people came in to check her vitals, but they were gentle. With time, her cuts and bruises healed, but the mental scar of her father's death and the separation with her mother stayed.
Every night, she would cry herself to sleep.
On the fourth day, the pain started. Men dressed in lab coats would come in, faces cold and void of emotion. They started by poking and prodding her with needles to take her blood. The girl couldn't use her quirk, because tough, leather, mitten-like objects chained her hands together, suppressing her quirk. It was painful, but the torture was only beginning.
On the fifth day and every day after that, they would slice deep cuts in her skin and hold burning matches to her skin, trying to warm the blood and unusual plasma in her veins. What they were trying to do, the girl didn't know. But it was painful, and she would go to bed every night with smoldering flesh.
Every day became routine to the girl, except for one day in between the pain when a boy who looked quite older than her visited. He had blue hair and wore all black. His skin was pale, dry, and cracked. He watched the girl's experimentation silently.
He never talked to her. But while her blood was boiling from the flames that were thrown onto her, his red eyes somehow calmed her.
The next day, he was gone.
A month, 6 months, a year passed by in a blur. [Name] barely felt the pain anymore, barely felt any emotions. And on the 367th day...
"Hello sweetie. It's time for your daily intercalation!" One of the experimenters said with a fake concerned smile. [Name] glared, handing them her wrist. It was better to get it over with without struggling, she had learned.
As the scientists once again tried to simmer the blood in her veins, they widened their eyes and started yelling.
"IT'S HAPPENING! GET THE CAMERA! RECORD THESE RESULTS!"
[Name] started to feel uneasy as her veins tingled. Her throat suddenly felt dry, and her lungs suddenly felt airy. She struggled to breathe, gasping uncomfortably.
That's when it happened. Her hands started to spark up, but not with the usual, natural, plasma.
Instead, was her burnt blood and smoldering remains of plasma in the texture of an ashy, powdery substance.
As the disgusting, dark, smoky dustlike substance exerted from her hands, she heard formal clapping, and saw the experimenters with excited and accomplished smiles on their faces that would haunt her for years.

"Experiment Quirk Transplant is a success. We will discuss our next mission to train weapon AE273, tomorrow."
So that's what she was? A nameless weapon to do evil? All the demons all left the room, congratulating each other and discussing a celebratory dinner while the battered girl remained on the ground in inhumane conditions.
"OH MY GOD!" A familiar scream from the hallway. [Name] gasped and looked up, seeing concerned (e/c) eyes.
"M-Mom?" She asked weakly, her throat hoarse. "H-How did you get here?"
"I broke in," She whispered. "But we don't have much time left. They'll find me again. I've alerted a Hero Agency in a nearby country about this illegal laboratory and about the horrific executions.. They're coming soon. You're safe now.."
As they quickly made their way to a large clearing in the middle of the forest, the cool, natural air hit [Name]'s burns, a feeling she hadn't experienced since she was taken in.
But quicker than lightning, it was over. A flash of red plasma from her mother's hands hit [Name], tossing her aside deliberately. As [Name] tumbled to the ground, she saw her mother, laying on the ground, bruised and bloody, a large gunshot wound through her gut. Her mother grabbed her hand tightly for the last time, and she was gone.
[Name] stood up to see experimenters cautiously approaching the girl. It made her FURIOUS> Her mind spun, her heart pounded. This couldn't be real. This was a dream. She had finally been reunited with her mother, and without a word... She was dead. Her mother was dead, her mother was dead.
[Name] didn't know when she created them. All of a sudden, she saw red as her mind raced, barely able to separate the real world from memories. Smoldering, ashy figures rose from the ground. They were inhuman, rather demons made of the substance that was her altered quirk. They had blazing red eyes and evil smiles, and they all resembled the horrors of her mind. They resembled the people of her island who turned against her, the executioners, the experimenters.
And in a flash, they were tearing through the experimenters, ripping their flesh, consuming them whole. Her screams went unheard, unless you counted the fresh corpses littering the ground. The (h/c) haired color girl dug her nails into her palm, trying desperately-and succeeding-to come back to her senses.
As the burnt, ashy plasma disappeared, so did the figures made of the powdery substance, and the girl collapsed on the floor, heart pounding, head lying on her mother's unmoving chest.
Flesh, blood, and grains of dust were all that remained on the site. Nobody was left alive, except for the girl and the memories in her mind.
She didn't realize the helicopter arrive, nor did she realize the police officers pick her up and fly her to a different island. She paid no attention to the hospital she was rushed into, only thinking of her mother, whom she was so close to, whose hair was red due to her beautiful plasma quirk. The quirk that had been passed down to [Name], who had now had it messed with by villains. Who was now considered a human weapon.
"She's bleeding internally, broken ribs! Major burns, cuts, and bruises! Top priority is a vein transplant, we can still reverse the damage of her quirk installment to some extent! Let's go!"
And when she awoke and came to her senses, recovering in a soft hospital bed, the first face she was met with was a scruffy, tired yet concerned one. Her new father.
_______
[Name] gasped and sat up, widening her eyes, but relaxing once the familiar sights of the Aizawa house flooded into her eyes. She rolled her eyes and slumped back down.
While it wasn't fun to have her childhood traumas broadcasted to her in the form of dream memories, (or rather realistic nightmares), she had gotten used to them, usually having them once or twice a week.
Glancing at her phone, she wondered if her new friend was awake. Even though she didn't know him in person, she definitely found comfort talking to him. [Name] felt like... She could tell him anything, because he didn't even know her in real life, so it didn't matter.

what? two chapters in one day?
so basically, on the island that [name] grew up on, quirks are illegal. the island has 'quirk-executioners' and their job is pretty self explanatory. the island keeps their executions kind of quiet and underground so other countries can't really meddle with them/try to stop them.
so in the beginning, [name] and her mother are running away from their house. the quirk executioners have killed [name]'s dad and are now after the two of them. then, they get taken by them.
just as [name] is about to be executed, a mystery man bribes the executioners to set her free so he can conduct his own experiments on her and make her into a human weapon that the villains can use.
her mother finds her and they try to escape together, but as the experimenters find them and shoot a bullet at [name], her mom takes the bullet for her. or maybe [name] escaped the lab herself and her mother was just a part of her imagination?? i'll leave that up for your own thinking.
then, her quirk goes absolutely fucking haywire as she creates demons made of ash (because she considers everyone who caused her pain and torture to be demons and that's all her mind can think of in the moment.) she literally obliterates everyone, and the helicopter from japan arrives.
these experiments caused [name]'s plasma quirk to kind of go haywire. so it's not like todoroki's half and half quirk exactly.. it's just that if she gets really freaked out or stressed her transplanted quirk may activate. but for the most part, she can't really activate it as she doesn't know how + when she got to japan they gave her a vein transplant surgery, which mostly (but not entirely) got rid of the ash quirk.
since there are no characters besides [name] and tou in this chapter and its just kind of [name]'s internal struggles with her own nightmares, the plot will not suddenly become completely angsty/it won't halt the storyline, so no need to worry!
this is just to help readers understand [name]'s past and develop her relationship with this mystery guy she's been texting although i think everyone knows who its supposed to be.
sorry everyone for no memes. but i've been excited to reveal the backstory ever since i published the prologue of lacuna so everything makes sense. it's not completely random how [name] hates hot weather (the fire torturing) or why she has the habit of digging her nails into her palms. i hate writing without reason!
again, sorry to spring the angst on everyone! it'll get more lighthearted from here until the forest training arc!
by the way-
[name]'s mom has red hair because of her plasma quirk. because in my mind plasma is red so deal with it bxtches
