《Fragile Minds ━━ C. DANVERS ✓》two.

She knew that for a while that things were going to change about her after what had happened, but she didn't think that they would be the way they were. The woman didn't think that she was going to be changed so much that she was going to be able to talk to ghosts. Poppy already thought that she heard things, and after the accident and what the power source had done to her, she found herself being able to communicate with the dead. But the worst thing to come out of all of it was the fact that she had lost Carol Danvers.
No one knew what had happened to the woman after the explosion went off, and Poppy didn't even know if she had seen anything. Which was why she wasn't able to give a proper report when S.H.I.E.L.D began to question her. She already knew that they were going to want to know every single little thing about the mission, but once they had heard about what had happened to her, their attention shifted and they wanted to be able to work with her. They wanted to know the extent of what it was that Poppy was able to do, and she knew that she wasn't going to like it.
But as she began to work with S.H.I.E.L.D, she found that there was something else about her. That her body had been slowed down and she would age a lot slower than anyone else around her. Years would go by and she would still look as she did now. It was a blessing wrapped around a curse, and she didn't know whether to be thankful or not. There were things that she didn't understand, and she knew that she was going to have to get used to them, but she just couldn't.

Poppy found herself down in the archives of S.H.I.E.L.D, and she held onto a file that had all of the information that they had on her. She pressed her lips together as she stared at the image of herself, as well as all of the images that they had of her and Carol. She couldn't help but let out a heavy sigh as she stared at the blonde-haired woman, but then she wondered what had happened to her. She wondered what it was that happened that day that had caused her to disappear without a trace, and it broke her heart.
As she stood there, leaned up against one of the pillars, there was the sound of footsteps behind her, and she didn't know who it was until they knocked against the bookshelves. She glanced over her shoulder to meet the eyes of Fayre Harlow, and she gave her a small smile. The other woman was very similar to Poppy in a way, the only difference was the fact that Fayre was cursed with immortality and the ability to manipulate gravity during a lab experiment back in the 1940s. She had been trying to recreate the super-soldier serum that was used on Steve Rogers, but she had failed. But she was there to create S.H.I.E.L.D, and she was the only original member of the organization left, or that was still running the business.
"Thought I'd find you down here," Fayre smiled at her as she glanced down to the file in her hand. "And I knew that you would be reading over your file," She began to walk over to her as she leaned against the opposing rack of files and she tilted her head. "What's up?"
"I don't know, just feeling . . . nostalgic," Poppy replied to her with a small smile and Fayre nodded her head as she stared at her. "I'm also just trying to wrap my head around what had happened to her. I thought that we would've been able to find her. "

"Well, S.H.I.E.L.D really doesn't take in missing persons. Plus, with who you two were working for, they didn't really want to dive into too much without getting all tied up," She explained to her with a small shrug. "But we'll figure things out." She then tapped her finger against her head as she began to change the conversation. "How're the spirits treating you?"
"Oh, you know, driving me crazy," Poppy replied to her with a small chuckle, and Fayre nodded her head. "I just wish that there was a way for them to go away. There always seems to be a solution for some things, but this? How am I going to be able to get these voices out of my head?"
"Science is an enigma," Fayre replied to her as she stared at her. "I've lived more than my share of decades and I haven't figured any of that out quite yet. I have all of the time in the world to figure it out, but I wouldn't really want to spend my entire immortal life on that." Poppy nodded her head as she watched Fayre glance down at the watch on her wrist, before meeting with the other dark-haired woman's eyes. "We gotta go, another meeting. You coming?"
Poppy stared at her for a few seconds, before glancing down at the file in her hands. A heavy sigh left her lips before she slipped it back to where it was before. When it was put back, she put her hands in her pockets and nodded her head, "Let's get this over with."
