《Fragile Minds ━━ C. DANVERS ✓》five.

Her dark hair was pulled into a high ponytail as she rode with Coulson and Fury and she inhaled deeply as her eyes landed on the Blockbuster. She tilted her head to the side as she stared at the building, before getting out of the car and making her way into the building. She didn't know what it was that had fallen through the roof, but it was enough for S.H.I.E.L.D to want to know what was going on. She pressed her lips together as she glanced around herself, before looking over her shoulder to see Nick beginning to make his way over to a woman in a payphone.
The woman's lips parted as she narrowed her eyes at the woman in front of her and she tilted her head to the side. It couldn't be, it wasn't possible. She thought to herself as she stared at the woman in the strange alien-looking suit. There were so many things that were wrong with what was going on in front of her and she wanted to ask her so many questions. She wanted to know what it was that had happened to her as she stood in the payphone, and she watched as Nick spoke to her.
But it looked as if the conversation wasn't working out as it should've been, because every time that Nick said something to her, the woman was quick to try and walk away. Poppy wanted nothing more than to make her way over to the two of them and see what it was that she could've done to help get information out of her, but she knew who it was. She knew that she would compromise herself way too early in the mission that they were on and she couldn't afford to do that.
Just as Phil Coulson approached the two of them, so did Poppy and one of the other agents that joined them. She looked between the two of them and, for a split second, she and the woman met each other's gaze and she knew that it was her. She knew that the woman in front of her was Carol Danvers and she would've done whatever it was that she could to figure out what the hell had happened to her.

"Can I see some identification, please?" Nick questioned her in a serious tone, the smile that was once on his lips wiped clean off.
"Vers, Kree Starforce," the woman replied to him, and that only confused Poppy even more. She knew that there was something strange going on when they worked for Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S., but she didn't know how to explain any of what was going on with the woman in front of her. "We don't carry our identification on little cards."
"Vers?" Nick asked her as he stepped into her way again, earning a small glare from her in the process, while he placed his identification in his suit jacket. "Starforce? How long you plan to be in town?"
"Oh, I'll be out of your hair as soon as I track down the Skrulls that are infiltrating your planet," Carol, who identified herself as Vers, replied to him as she tilted her head to the side. She still wore the serious expression on her face and Poppy shook her head slightly as she stared at her.
There was a brief pause in the conversation, giving Nick enough time to chuckle at the response that he was given. And Carol didn't seem too entertained by what it was that the man was doing in response to her serious response, "Skrulls?"
"Shapeshifters," Vers answered him with an unimpressed expression on her face as if she believed that they knew exactly what it was that she was talking about. "They can transform into any life form down to the DNA." Nick glanced over his shoulder and back to Poppy and Phil for a few seconds, which was enough for her to gather that they had no clue what it was she was saying, "Oh, boy. You guys don't have any clue, do you?"
That was when the woman, again, attempted to walk away from the group. But Nick was quick enough to grab her by the arm and twist her around so that she was facing him again, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold on. How do we know that you're not one of those . . . shapeshifters?"

The woman gave him a smile, "Congratulations, Agent Fury. You have finally asked a relevant question."
"No! Congratulations to you, Starforce lady. You're under arrest," Nick replied to her in a mocking tone as the police officer behind her began to approach her.
That was when her attention shifted to something a little ways away from them and a beam of energy flew toward them. Carol/Vers was quick to shove Nick Fury out of the way, while Phil and Poppy dodged the attack as Carol fired back at the alien. Nick and the others glanced at each other as Carol began to run away, and it was time for them to do a little high-speed chase.
Poppy was able to cancel out any of the conversations that Nick and Phil were having as they climbed into the car they were in, her attention was merely focused on the blast from the past. Her head stared out the window as Nick began to speed down the highway after her, watching as she jumped into the air and made her way over to an ongoing train.
She watched as Carol was able to climb the exterior of the train and then make her way inside, just as Nick drove like a maniac on the road. SHe wanted to say something to him, give him a smartass comment about what it was that he was doing, and how many traffic laws he was breaking. But that was something that he didn't have time to hear, and she didn't have time to talk about.
They could tell that Carol was making a mess of the situation that she was in because a piece of the train slammed down onto the hood of the car they were in, causing Poppy to gasp. She stared at Nick for a few seconds and she shook her head until they heard the radio go off. The sound of Phil Coulson's voice entered the air and he spoke about how he was still at the BLockbuster which meant that the man in the passenger seat of the car wasn't Coulson.
That was enough for the imposter to start a fight with Nick as the man was driving, and Poppy attempted to jump into the fight, grabbing a piece of wire out of her pocket and wrapping it around the man's throat. It didn't matter how much strength she put in to pull the man's head back because he was still able to overpower her and fight against Fury.
As the alien got his hand wrapped around Nick's throat, that was when the man got the idea to drive into the other lane and smack into a bus. Poppy's head hit against the back of the seat that the Coulson impersonator was in and she let out a groan as she held onto her head. She clenched her jaw as she pulled back her hand to find a small trace of blood before her eyes wandered over to Nick. The two of them stared at each other for a few seconds, before their eyes landed on the alien figure that sat where the impersonator was.
That was when they realized that Carol wasn't crazy.
That everything that she said about the Skrulls was true, and that they had aliens to deal with, above all else. Not only did Poppy have to deal with the fact that the aliens were on their own world, but the fact that Carol Danvers was back, and didn't even recognize who she was.

Black Blood (Dropped...)
The multiverse is a big place, and it is also constantly in flux. As such sometimes mistakes occur, impossibilities that should have never come into existence. An aspect of corruption born naturally of a mortal and a divine, a Void that is a singularity instead of a duality, a being that came to be before existence ever was, a forgotten that is not damned, the possibilities are infinite and limitless, and thus so are the possible mistakes in this grand multiverse. But are not mistakes more entertaining to watch? When being reincarnated there are some things that you just cant control. Losing most of your memories is not a great start. Pissing off your patron goddess is not a good follow up. Rounding that out with reincarnating as something not exactly… human… Needless to say this guy is in for an interesting life.
