At first, it seemed as if Carol was more interested in who it was that the man in front of her was and didn't care who it was that Poppy was. She was hurt by the whole thing, but that made her wonder if it was possible that Carol knew who it was that she was and she didn't need to question her about any of it, that she didn't need to know anything. But, of course, that wasn't how everything went in their world.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Where were you born?" Carol questioned her and Nick was quick to answer.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Huntsville, Alabama. But technically, I don't remember that part," Nick answered her and Poppy sat in the chair with her arms crossed over her chest fo a few seconds before she glanced between the two of them.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Name of your first pet?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Mr. Snoofers,"
⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Mr. Snoofers?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀ "That's what I said," Nick answered her and he furrowed his brows together as he stared at her, before quirking an eyebrow at her. "Do I pass?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Not yet," Carol answered him as she gave him a small grin. "First job?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Soldier," Nick responded as he let out a heavy sigh. "Straight out of high school. Left the ranks a full bird colonel."
⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Then?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Spy," He answered quickly, and Poppy didn't want to have to sit there and listen to their ongoing game of twenty questions. They had things that they had to do and none of them had time to play any games.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Where?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀ "It was the Cold War," Nick answered her as he glanced over to Poppy and he could tell that she was growing impatient with everything that was going on. "We were everywhere. Uh, Belfast, Bucharest. Belgrade. Budapest. I like the B's, I can make them rhyme."

⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Now?" She pushed, and the two of them could tell that she wasn't going to let up with the game that she was playing.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Been riding a desk for the past six years, trying to figure out where our future enemies are coming from," Nick answered her with a slight shrug. "Never occurred to me they would be coming from above." He pointed his finger toward the roof of the bar that they were in and Poppy flicked her eyebrows."
⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Name a detail so bizarre a Skrull could never fabricate it," Carol challenged him, and Poppy knew that it would be far too easy for Nick to come up with something otherworldly about himself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ Nick glanced to the side and let out a scoff as he stared at the woman across from him, "If toast is cut diagonally, I can't eat it." The two of them stared at each other as Carol smiled at him and he shook his head. "You didn't need that, did you?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀ Her smile stuck on her face as she stared at the two of them, "No. No, I didn't. But I enjoyed it."
⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Okay. Your turn," Nick commented as he nodded to her, both of them forgetting about Poppy and she couldn't have been more grateful. She didn't want to have to open up about herself any more than she had ever for any on in her life. She didn't want to have to talk about the fact that she could communicate with ghosts. "Prove you're not a Skrull." Carol stared at the two of them in front of her, before lifting her fist and a beam of energy shot from her fist and destroyed the jukebox behind them. Both Nick and Poppy glanced over their shoulder, before looking back to her.

⠀⠀⠀⠀ "And that proves something, how?" Poppy questioned her as she furrowed her brows together.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ Carol turned her attention to Poppy, and the woman had to admit that she hated the way that Carol was staring at her, "That's a photon blast."
⠀⠀⠀⠀ "And?" Both Poppy and Nick questioned in unison.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ She shook her head with her brows furrowed, "A Skrull can't do that." both of the figures in front of her let out a heavy sigh and Carol continued. "So, a full bird colonel turned spy turned S.H.I.E.L.D agent must have pretty high-security clearance."
⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Oh, you think that I have high-security clearance?" Nick scoffed before he motioned over to the woman that sat beside him. Poppy narrowed her eyes at him and she squinted at him, clearly pissed that he had brought her up. "You want to know anything about what you're looking for? Look at her."
⠀⠀⠀⠀ Carol stared at Poppy for a few seconds, before she tilted her head to the side, "And why should I be looking at you for information that I want about P.E.G.A.S.U.S?"
Poppy clenched her jaw for a few seconds as she glanced over to Nick and she knew that he was doing it in order to create a diversion. There were things that he knew that she had about the whole project that Carol was looking into, and he didn't know how to get her to shut up. He wanted Poppy to step up to the plate and tell her everything that she wanted to know about Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S.
But even as Poppy sat there in front of her, she gave the man a shake of the head, before she turned her attention back to Carol. That was when the woman stared at her and the two of them knew that there were things that she wanted to learn. Poppy knew that everything that Carol wanted to know, were things that she already knew. There were things that the two of them had done together in their time working together, and she didn't want to have to be the one to refresh her memory about everything that they had gone through.
A heavy sigh left her lips, but she knew what had to be done.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ "YOu want to know everything about Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S.?" Carol nodded her head as she stared at Poppy. The brunette stared at her for a few seconds, before shaking her head. "Then, Nick is right, I"m your girl. "Carol furrowed her brows together and Poppy shrugged her shoulders. "Then there's a place that you're going to want to go to. And only I have the clearance high enough to actually get us in."
