《Captain Marvel》Chapter 7: Attack on California

Ronan watched as his men were inspecting the piece of metal that was left by Captain Mar-Vell's ship. Nenora was sitting a little closer, also watching. There was news that Korath the Pursuer would be joining them shortly but he may not be arrive.
But they got even bigger news when a Kree soldier rushed towards the room while they were almost finished inspecting the rock.
"Ronan the Accuser, we have spotted Skrulls attacking the planet Earth." He said.
"There could only be one particular reason to why they are attacking the so-called planet Earth." Ronan said.
"Mar-Vell's there." Nenora muttered.
Ronan smiled at her, "Correct. We move out immediately. Store that piece of metal somewhere. We are changing our course."
"And any news on Korath?" Nenora asked the soldier.
"He is on his way."
"The Starforce reunion can wait until Earth. Inform his ship to also change his course. We need Mar-Vell back." Ronan said.
"Man your stations." Nenora commanded, walking to her seat, "Let's move out!"
As the hot sun started beating them, Carol and Mar-Vell quickly flew through the desert and into the city. Multiple Skrulls landed on buildings, streets, pools and even in the ocean. It was a matter of time until they lost full control.
It seemed like a whole Skrull army marched through the streets, taking people and causing a whole lot of problems. A signal started flowing on their comms.
"Can you copy, Captain Danvers and Captain Mar-Vell?" Fury asked through the comms.
"Reading you loud and clear, Director Fury. We have quite the situation happening right on front of us." Carol responded.
"Have they reached the suburb areas or are they still in the main city?"
"From my point of view..." Carol paused and flew up into the air, "Only a few have spilled into the suburbs. Nothing I can't handle."

"Well handle them. I have some units closing down roads. I need you to suppress the alien attack. I don't need a paparazzi coming down here and taking pictures whenever they please."
Carol got off comms for a moment and looked down at Mar-Vell. "Clear Main Street! I'll handle the ones trying to get out!" Carol then got back to her conversation with Fury as Mar-Vell jumped into the city, "Can you give us time on those units?"
"Five minutes max. I have heli's coming in at your six." Fury responded and asked a question to someone behind him, "Just request jets if you need some."
"We'll call if we need some. For now, we can handle it." Carol stopped the call and flew towards downtown where there were many Skrulls.
But when she landed in downtown, there was no one there. Except for the people who were trying to run away from the battle that was happening. It seemed almost awkward for Carol to where a red, blue and yellow suit instead of the green camouflage she is used to wearing. Then she noticed something in the corner of her eye. Some people were stopping and staring at her from all her sides.
Once everyone was out of the way, the people surrounding Carol turned into green aliens holding advanced blasters.
"Come on guys, it's the 1990's. Give me a break." Carol joked, but the Skrulls started firing at her.
The bullets were deflecting off her suit and back into the Skrulls. She stood there until they ran out of ammo, but one of them had a electric trap that stuck her towards the wall. She had a hard time getting out, and the Skrulls got electric batons out.
"Big..." Carol paused as she ripped the electric trap, "mistake!"

She grabbed a lamppost out of the floor and swung it around, knocking down the Skrulls. They couldn't get up because of how fast and strong she was. Suddenly a Skrull shot another electric trap on her, and then another, and it kept on going on. She was getting stuck to the floor and the Skrulls were beating her with electric batons.
While she was getting struck, she remembered something Mar-Vell told her earlier. It was about harnessing the energy around her surroundings. She concentrated on the energy from the electric batons and consumed it. The batons powered down and was producing no electricity. Yellow beams of energy appeared around her hands and applied too much energy on the traps. It overheated and she used the energy to knock down the Skrulls.
"You did some work." Mar-Vell said as he arrived. He ran over there to check because of the amount of blaster shots that could be heard. "Did you-"
"Harness energy?" Carol continued. "Yup. Suck the life out of the batons."
"See? What did I tell you? A little bit of practice and you'll get the hang of it."
Some Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics division soldiers appeared down the street. They were riding in with heavily armoured vehicles.
"Haven't seen those vehicles before. Have you?" Mar-Vell asked.
"Only seen the plating. I'm pretty sure that came from Stark." Carol whispered.
Agent Coulson walked down one of the vehicles and calmly approached them. They were standing side by side, wearing the same colors and suit.
"We rounded a few of them who were trying to escape around the beach. Eventually caught them." Coulson reported and smiled. He leaned a little to Carol's right and looked up, "But it looks like one of them are trying to leave."
"Oh crap." Mar-Vell said, as he saw one big ship trying to escape the Earth's atmosphere.
"I got it." Carol said and started to fly towards it quickly.
Carol was flying three times as fast as the ship which made it easier for her to catch up. She grabbed the side of the ship and hugged it, trying her best to not slip off. She knew she couldn't bring it down, but she could slow it down.
With her strength, she started pushing the ship forwards which started slowing it down heavily. She had a good idea going on until she saw a ship flying in at a fast speed. It was entering the Earth's atmosphere, right below the Skrull ship.
"Um... Mar-Vell. Do you have a ship that has the same logo as ours, but color green?" Carol asked through the comms.
"Yeah. I do. Is that an important question I should have answered?" Mar-Vell asked.
"Clear the area right below me!" Carol shouted, leaving the ship's grasp and started to fly away.

[Archive] Legend of the Nameless Hero
A WhiteSamurai original Web Novel There are always the mysterious tales of heroes, those who fight against the Demons, who fight for justice and those who head mighty quests against tyranny. Heroes that are born to destiny, Heroes that are forged through tragedy, and Heroes that are brought to the world in times of great peril and strife. Not all true Heroes are wanted or beloved, but all life understands, that throughout all time and space, for those who truly stand as Heroes, they never need to be called one. The sands of time are the only true judge for those who journey upon the true path, the only one they will ever need. This is the tale, no, the Legend, the Legend of the one who throughout all time, would forever be, the First Hero. This is Their story, a story of true hardship, of a sorrow greater than any other that would stand as a symbol of inspiration no matter the test of time. A tale of darkness, a true curse, an impending evil hidden beyond the horizons that threatened the very future of existence. This is the tale, of one of the few great figures, who, in the face of true evil, continued to stand. . . . _______________________________________________________________ :Disclaimer: _______________________________________________________________ . . . All Chapters are subject to sudden revision, scrapping, or complete removal from the canonical storyline. The author of "Legend of the Nameless Hero" uses RoyalRoad as a method of experimentation with genre's and writing styles for Fantasy-style works for the sake of eventual publication. The end result isn't to release perfect chapters on RoyalRoadl, but eventually develop the story as intended using the best material to produce the highest quality work. The best mentality when reading works from WhiteSamurai is to see it as the ability to read and review pre-release transcripts or "Rough Copies" before publication. Viewer discretion and maturity are both requested and required. . . . _______________________________________________________________ :About: _______________________________________________________________ . . . This story follows direct character point of views along with an intentional third person narrative to explain to the readers what the characters won't. (I don't use my characters to go give extensive explanations for every last thing like EVERYTHING DOES) This tale shall encompass the life of the Hero from the moment she is summoned into the Kingdom of Kremor, to the Legendary Final Clash. This isn't your run of the mill hack and slash raise an army and conquer, I don't follow that bandwagon. Real life holds politics, intrigue, economics, structure, populations, civil opinions, history, psychology, heart, suffering, wonder, advancement, curiosity, ambition, and so many more things that would lead to me hitting some character limit. I refuse to take the same route that others use by simply ignoring these factors, my worlds, my stories, are as real as they get. There's no plot armor here, if someone screws up, they've screwed up and there's no magical sword in a well for them. I write in 'Seasons' not 'Books' as many often do, these are generally, not always, hundreds of chapters long, though as I have yet to finish a season, the average length is in the air. I go by an ideal of what I call 'Universal Lore' which includes the policy that things that exist within the story don't follow the rule where the Protagonist needs to be there so that it will happen. There will be some things that will happen, and the hero, and sometimes the reader, won't know happened until they enter a place, or news gets to them. A person needs to be in the right place at the right time, I hate plot holes and meta characters above all else... For my works, comments are practically demanded as reactions, thoughts, and various viewpoints are like sweet fuel to my writing spirit. Reviews are highly accepted and appreciated, BUT ONLY IF THEY ARE EDUCATED AND THOROUGHLY EXPLAINED. Those that throw down a low rating ARE HIGHLY REQUESTED to extensively detail and explain their viewpoints on the work. They should also be willing to come back to the work at a later date if messaged by the Author, Me, due to issues they mentioned being taken care of. I'm never against scrapping a chapter or rewriting several paragraphs if there are character or story discrepancies. I want the highest quality work possible, and every comment, every review, are tools for me to use to further that goal. . . . Enjoy the work. ~White Status: (Ongoing)
