Sabine was worried, just after Ezra had left. She began to think what is my purpose?, what am i meant to do?, how should i tell Ezra how i feel?, Sabine knew Ezra, and she knew that his "affiliations" could help her. Sabine quickly grabbed her journal and flipped through all of her notes, Treika, Tim, Tom, Token, Toffen, Tutt. Then, she found him Tyber Zann, leader of the Zann consortium and in need of recruits, Sabine bit her lip while trying to decide, if she should talk to Ezra first about joining, Sabine puts away the journal and gets up to finish her daily routine. Zeb is waiting outside of the door when Sabine, clad in her mandalorian armor, walks out of her room. Sabine smiles at Zeb, who has been sober for months now "how are you feeling Zeb?" Zeb smiles back at Sabine "great, where did Ezra go off to in such a hurry?" Sabine grimaces "probably going to slit some poor fool's throat with those savages," Zeb raises an eyebrow "what do you mean?" Sabine puts a hand on her head "it was awful Zeb, i'm glad you weren't there to see how they tortured that officer," Zeb looks around "do you want to go eat breakfast, unless your eating with Ezra," Sabine looks down the hallway "yeah, i'll eat breakfast with you today, besides Ezra will be busy looking through Chopper's memory banks," Zeb lets Sabine go in front of him "i think you're growing up on me Sabine," Sabine turns her head "yeah, but maybe that's a good thing," Zeb looks Sabine in the eyes "i've missed spending time with you Sabine," Sabine scoffs "why don't you find more friends then?" "it's hard," Sabine knows it's hard, she knows it's very hard.
Sabine was walking through the halls once again when Hera called her into her room. Sabine walked into the room to be greeted by Hera sitting at a table beside Kanan with Ezra sitting opposite of them, Sabine cringes oh boy, Sabine moves and takes a seat beside Ezra. Hera begins "what's up with you guys? you spend all day together, and Kanan constantly finds you two sleeping in the same room, please explain," Sabine looks over at Ezra. Ezra shrugs we've got nothing to hide he says without words, Sabine looks Hera in the eyes "it's complicated," Hera leans forward "how complicated?" Sabine cringes "complicated enough for me not to want to talk about it," Hera raises an eyebrow. Then Ezra speaks up "i love Sabine with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns," Hera looks surprised for a moment then laughs. Ezra speaks again "my life is hers, my entire being belongs to her, only to quench my passion in one way possible," Hera looks at Kanan, poor blind Kanan, before looking back at Ezra "so this is how you want to explain it?" Ezra looks over at Sabine and put his arm around her holding her close "yes," says Ezra with his voice cracking "i love her," Sabine looks at Hera who points her hand at them as if to say "continue" Sabine speaks up "I'm sorry Hera, i suppose you knew it was inevitable, but Ezra and I love one another, but i love him more than he loves himself," Hera shakes her head young love Sabine begins to change the subject "how's your little girl?" Hera beams, "Dawn? She's doing very well, and i'm sure she would like to see you sometime, of course she's still a baby and it won't make much of a difference," Hera looks at the two of them together and smiles "i love you guys, i just don't want you doing anything stupid okay? So, we'll start checking on you guys and making sure your alright," Sabine nods her head, as they both get up and walk away. Ezra kept his arm around her on the way to her room. Sabine felt elated, Ezra had just proclaimed to everyone that he loved Sabine, and the words he used to describe his love were some of the prettiest words that she had ever heard him say, and they were about her, but there were things needed to ask him.

Sabine walked to her room first and unlocked it, Sabine walks in and sits on the small couch she had in her room. Ezra walks over to the window in Sabine's room and looks outside, Sabine bites her lip before looking up "Ezra?" Ezra turns around and stares at Sabine for a moment before leaning against the wall "yeah?" Sabine pats the seat beside her on the couch "i need to talk to you about something," Ezra's heart beat faster, and his eyes had a glint in them that Sabine noticed. Ezra walks over to Sabine's couch and sits beside her "what's up Sabine?" Sabine looks away for a moment, searching for words "Tyber Zann," says Sabine, Sabine feels Ezra recoil a little at the mention of his name, "you know Tyber Zann?" Ezra stutters "yes i know Tyber Zann," Sabine looks at Ezra sitting beside her "how can i join as one of his mercenaries?" Ezra chokes on his breath and coughs before staring Sabine dead in the eyes "why do you want to join his group?" Sabine looks away "it's complicated," Ezra stands up "Sabine, i can't be a prat of this," Sabine stands with him "please Ezra, I need to get away from this, even for just a few days," Ezra turns "no, Tyber Zann is a monster," Sabine stares at Ezra intently "please Ezra," Ezra grits his teeth and takes a step forward "no," Sabine steps back, Ezra steps forward "i can't, i won't," Sabine steps back, Ezra steps forward. this continues until Sabine is up against the wall and Ezra is almost touching his nose to hers "this is madness!" shouts Ezra "he will use you as fodder! push you into the deepest combat!" Ezra looks up towards the ceiling and sobs loudly. Sabine relaxes a little as Ezra turns around and sits at the end of Sabine's bed. Ezra's hands were in his hands. Ezra was sobbing "i can't lose you," Sabine walks forward and sits next to Ezra. Sabine gingerly places her hand on Ezra's shoulder. Ezra looks up for a second before sobbing into his hands again "i can't lose you Sabine," Sabine wraps both arms around Ezra and draws him toward her. Ezra looks up "i'm so sorry Sabine, i'm just so weak," Sabine keeps her hold on Ezra firm "a real man, is a man brave enough to show his emotions," Ezra cries "please Sabine, don't make me have to let you go," Sabine lets go of Ezra and feels his back, Ezra stands "if you want to join the Zann Consortium, fine, do it, i just will not be a part of it after what i saw that animal do," Sabine stands "Ezra, i just believe this is the answer," Ezra turns away and walks out of Sabine's room, and walks to his own. Ezra listens to her filling up her bags with her personal effects, Ezra puts his head in his hands and lets his grief sinks in, until he hears Sabine leave.

"what have i done?"
Apologies to my readers if this story was particularly dark. But this part is a wedge and backbone for the closing of my first volume, as we will soon see what happens when Sabine joins the Zann Consortium.

Life is a simulation.
