《Ryujin Imagines (gxg)》appendicitis (requested)

"You're burning up." Ryujin frowned as she placed her hand back on your forehead after you laid back down, wiping your lips after throwing up once more.
She looked at your hand, watching as you clutched your right side.
Your eyebrows are furrowed as groans and whimpers fall from your lips and, sometimes, she catches you sinking your teeth into your lip so hard she worries you might make it bleed.
It's obvious just how terrible you feel. You've been feeling quite rotten for the last few hours, but now it's as if every minute is worse than the last with the amount of pain you're in.
At first, it wasn't so bad.
You felt a little uncomfortable and wanted to just lay in bed and although Ryujin was worried, you tried to assure her that everything was okay, telling her that you're, at the most, possibly coming down with a little something and you'd just see how the day plays out.
She tried not to worry too much. But she loves you and cares very deeply about you and your well-being and she's so worried about you that she can't take her eyes off of you.
She too thought that you were just getting sick at first.
But now, she knows that something is very wrong.
This is so much more intense than any sickness you both originally thought you were possibly coming down with.
The fever, nausea, and pain were all too much to not be serious.
"Baby, I'm getting scared." She confessed as she listened to you groan in pain once again. "How bad is the pain?"
"It's bad." You groaned before you started to shiver, feeling the chills return again. "It's so bad, Ryujin. It's excruciating."
She bit her lip as a lump appeared in her throat.
She felt anxious to see you in so much pain and to see you sick.
You've been together for a while. You've seen each other through a lot, such as colds and cases of flu. But this was different, so terrible that she was afraid, and she didn't know what to do to help.
"Is it bad enough to go to the emergency room?"
You nodded and right away, she jumped out of bed to hurry up and get ready to rush you to the hospital.
She grabbed one of her hoodies and pulled on her shoes before putting her keys, phone, and wallet into her hoodie pocket and grabbing your important things, too.
She returned to your side and helped you sit up slowly.
"It's okay, my love." She comforted, brushing the tips of her fingers along your arm as you groaned in misery once again.

"Ryujin, it hurts." You whimpered, swallowing thickly. "I feel sick again."
"I know, baby. It's okay. You're going to be fine, you'll feel better soon. I'm going to get you to the hospital and we'll find out what's making you feel so terrible."
She finished tying your shoes while the wave of nausea passed as you took deep breaths and stayed as still as possible.
She brushed a lock of hair behind your ear and looked into your eyes.
Her heart shattered upon noticing how frightened and how awful you felt, and understandably so.
"I'm going to be by your side through anything and everything that happens tonight, I promise." She assured you before kissing your hot forehead. "Do you think you can walk? Or should I carry you?"
"I don't know." You sniffled.
"We'll take the stairs together, one by one. If it gets to be too much, I'll carry you."
You nodded and stood up and slowly walked out of the bedroom and down the stairs with her arms loosely wrapped around you, helping you with every step that you took.
With her help, you made it and you felt so grateful when you got into the car, so you could just sit still and not worry about moving.
The pain was still so intense. In fact, it almost felt as if it was getting worse somehow. It was sharp and severe and, on top of that, you still had the chills and you continued to feel as if you were going to throw up.
Thankfully though, Ryujin pulled into the emergency room parking lot before you actually threw up.
"We're almost there. Everything's okay." She promised as she helped you out of the car.
But you were in too much pain and you could no longer walk on your own, so Ryujin carefully lifted you into her arms and carried you through the emergency room doors.
"My girlfriend needs help!" She told the nurse as she rushed to the front desk. "I don't know what's wrong with her but she's sick, really sick. She's in a lot of pain."
Seeing that you were in excruciating pain, they took you back immediately and Ryujin carried you all the way until she reached the hospital room and gently laid you down.
She wrapped her fingers around yours and held your hand tightly, letting you squeeze it as hard as you needed due to the pain.
It took a few minutes for the doctor to come in and by then, it was obvious to everyone that something was extremely wrong.

The pain was so intense, only worsening as they examined you and pressed across your abdomen.
In so much pain, you could hardly speak, so Ryujin being the amazing girlfriend that she is answered the questions the doctor was asking such as when and where the pain began.
Explaining that it started near your belly button a few hours ago, the doctor nodded his head and looked at you.
"She has appendicitis."
You went wide-eyed as you looked at Ryujin.
"We'll have to do surgery."
The word made your heart race. It was so scary to hear, especially when it was so unexpected.
Ryujin brushed her thumb along your knuckles in comfort and kissed your forehead as they started to prepare for everything, taking you downstairs and away from Ryujin's side just a little while later.
"You'll still be here when it's over, right?"
"Of course I will, sweet girl. I'm not going anywhere. I'll be waiting for you. You're going to be just fine, I promise."
She couldn't help but let a few tears fall from her eyes as she watched them wheel you away, your hand pulled out of hers when you got too far away.
A nurse walked with Ryujin to a chair and grabbed her a cup of water before promising that if they heard anything, she'd hear it in a heartbeat.
She sat in the chair, bouncing her knee anxiously as she cried. She was torn on how to feel; relieved on one hand while scared on another.
It was relieving to know you'd be okay, that you finally had a diagnosis and in just a little while, you'd feel better. But it was just the thought of not being by your side and knowing that you had to have surgery that scared her a little.
She pulled out her phone and called Yeji, explaining through the lump in her throat that you had to have surgery to have your appendix taken out and, for obvious reasons, she wouldn't be making it to the studio or to practice for the next few days, until you made a full recovery.
The girls were so understanding and supportive, as they always are, assuring her that they completely understood and they'd make sure she could stay home with you for a few days and, of course, telling her to tell you that they hoped you'd feel better soon.
But she knew that she wouldn't have to pass on the message. She knew they'd be blowing up your phone with sweet messages, like the amazing friends that they are.
The time passed by quickly as she talked with the girls for about forty minutes and just spent the last twenty or thirty waiting anxiously and hoping that everything would be alright.
And they were.
Before she knew it, the surgeon was by her side, giving her the good news.
"She's going to be fine." He said and Ryujin let out a sigh of relief at the news. "She'll be brought up to the room soon. Until then, the nurse will lead you up there and you can wait for your girlfriend. She'll have to remain in the hospital for a day or two, just so you know."
"I understand. Thank you so much. Thank you for taking care of her." Ryujin sniffled and the surgeon quickly grinned before she stood up and walked with the nurse to the room you'd be staying in for the next day or two while you recover.
She sat with her head in her hands, thanking all of her lucky stars that you were going to be just fine and back to your normal self in only a few weeks.
You were brought in a little while later and your eyes were still closed at the time.
But Ryujin didn't mind. She knew you were going to be okay and she was happy to just hold your hand and stay by your side while she'd patiently wait for you to awake.
You were groggy but not long after, you opened your eyes.
"Ryujin?" You mumbled as you opened your eyes, meeting her big brown ones.
"Hi, my love." She kissed your cheek.
"You're here."
"Told you I wasn't going anywhere." She smiled as she brushed a lock of hair behind your ear. "Feel any better?"
"Yeah." You yawned. "I'm tired."
"You will be and that's okay. You can sleep as long and as much as you need. But you're going to be okay now. Your appendix is out and you'll feel like yourself again in a few weeks."
"A few weeks?"
"Yeah. It's going to take a little while to heal. But you'll have me by your side every step of the way."
"I love you." You said, cracking a smile as you stared at her.
"I love you too, my tough cookie, and I'm so, so happy that you're going to be okay." She said as she kissed your head lingeringly, feeling so grateful that everything was okay again.

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
