A loud thump of his heart brought him back to consciousness. He gradually, difficultly parted his lids. Red...all he could see was crimson red. He moved his head ever so slightly, his surroundings were unfamiliar, dark. Concentrating on his hearing, his heart shouted again. Muffled sounds around him gently floated into his ears, and a distant sound of sirens was approaching. The rain mercilessly slamed into the ground, and thunder clapped cruelly. Again, his heart throbbed. He tried moving, but it was in vain, as if the gravity suddenly intensified. He groaned inaudibly, suddenly remembering the loud crash that thundered before he passed out. Ah right...his heart thumped again, blocking all the sounds around him. His fingers twitched to the slight movements around him, trying to call for help. He was still alive. His feeble heartbeat fainted, got weaker with every moment dying into the past. The pump slowed down, no longer coating everything around. His lids trembled over his exhausted pupils, and his beat rested. "CAN YOU HEAR ME? SIR?" His eyes closed.
Reluctantly, Takahiro Moriuchi opened his eyes. He blinked at the blinding light right above him. The room was odorless except for multiple antiseptics mingling together, making the breath he takes stiffling. He painfully tilted his head, his surroundings were too quiet, he almost caught the sound of the silent drops from the IV liquid. He traced the tube back to his arm. No longer red, everything was white and sterile. The simple clock hung on the wall facing him ticked, and Taka tightened his grip on the one holding it. He finally looked towards the person, it was none other than his lover, Toru. He tried to speak, but no sound came out. The room was dizzying, he wanted so desperately to leave, but he couldn't remember what happened either. "T-toru" he tried vocalising the guitarist's name, but his voice was close to mute. The patient mustered all of the strength he had and tried to sit up, ruthlessly sending pain through his entire being. However, his groans finally woke Toru up.

The blonde one tried to grasp what happened and Taka contemplated his face while he processed the situation. He looked tired, and his eyebags were worse. Even his hair was dishevelled, tempting Taka to extend a hand towards it, nonetheless, Toru caught it midway. "You woke up" the latter thankfully whispered, blinking away some stray tears that formed into his eyes after seeing Taka's open once again. Toru smiled weakly, placing Taka's palm on his cheek. "What happened?" Taka inquired, his voice dry and strained. "The accident, do you remember it?" Toru cautiously asked, receiving a nod from Taka before he continued. "The investigation stated that it was most probably because of the slippery road from the rain" Toru gulped, expecting the next question. And sure enough, Taka yelped from his place. "My parents? Mom? Dad?" The leader got up, seating himself close to Taka. He pulled the frail man to his chest, gently enveloping him. "Toru tell me!" The vocalist pleaded and Toru sighed. "They..." he whispered, his own eyes threatening to cry. "They passed away" he stated the bitter truth, and Taka tensed. Yamashita tightened his arms around his partner, almost feeling how wide his eyes went, almost hearing his heart crack. All he could do was hold him strongly, safely, while he heard the first sniffle, followed by a trickling tear, that transformed into a sob. Moriuchi grasped Toru's shirt as he wept, his slender body shivering violently, memories from that night seeping into his memories.
Toru walked his fingers through his boyfriend's hair, trying to balance the difficult choice whether to elaborate further or keep silent, then he would be forced to break Taka again right after he calmed down. He also had to summon a doctor in order to check on the injured victim. Taka's sobs were wrenching Toru's heart, slashing through it in severe punishment. Why was be so stupid as to tell him right after he woke up. It was too much of a shock. Another whimper stabbed through his core. He lowered his gaze to the fragile being in his arms, desperately clinging to him, as if he were the last strand of life he had. It might be true, but did he deserve it? After what happened, he doubted that he even had the right to be by Taka's side. He had the chance to stop them, to keep them from leaving, but he didn't. He's probably just as guilty as the storm that lit the way to their death. "I'm sorry" he whispered, burying his face in the frontman's hair.

The door to the room promptly opened, catching Toru's attention. He looked at the door as two people in white came in. White again, it was supposed to be the colour of peace, then why was it so irritating. He could sense Taka trying to stiffle his crying without even looking. "Did we come at a bad time?" The female of the two asked, glancing at her muscular partner. As much as Toru wanted to kick them out, he also wanted them to check on Taka. Shaking his head gently, he replied "no, it's a perfect timing." Yamashita then removed Taka from his protection, gingerly setting his back against the pillows. "It's going to be alright" he soothed as he wiped Taka's remaining tears, giving way to the doctor. Toru watched as they examined Taka throughoutly, getting anxious with their mounting silence. "Everything seems to be stable" the female healer flashed a smile, and Toru could've sworn she saw right through his worry. "He won't be discharged just yet, we still need to tend to his wounds in case of infection. Thankfully the damage to his bones wasn't major, so none was broken. Although the hit on his head was hard, he doesn't seem to be suffering from amnesia" the male doctor explained, switching his attention between the couple. "Did anything strange happen when he woke up? Do you remember everything Moriuchi-san? Does anything feel weird?" The health worker asked for further inspection, and Taka shook his head in response, causing the relief of the other three.
"Well then" the doctors straightened their stances, looking at Taka one last time. "We wish you the quickest recovery" the woman in white bowed her head slightly, before she followed her colleague. "Excuse me!" Toru called after the two, hurriedly running after them. "May I talk to you for a moment?" The guitarist asked once he won their attention.
