《Baby Daddy》13. The Manor

Once the world stopped spinning, I was able to finally catch my bearings. I looked around where Draco had apparated us. I was in a big, dark room with a large fire blazing in front of me. I looked up and saw a glass chandelier. Why does it look so familiar? I thought to myself as I continued to take in the room, I feel like I've been here before.
And suddenly it hit me. I was in Narcissa's home, his home - Malfoy Manor.
I hadn't realised I was shaking until Draco took Indie out of my arms in fear I would drop her. "Quickly, come with me", he urged, before grabbing my hand and pulling me out of the room and up the stairs.
He pulled me, whilst still carrying Indie firmly in his arms, up a few staircases and through a couple of corridors until he stopped outside a door. He pushed his hand down on the handle and opened the door, walking us into his room.
As soon as we walked in I knew exactly where I was, I was in Draco Malfoy's bedroom.
It was a bit lighter than I thought it would be, especially compared to the rest of the manor, and there was much less green than I had imagined. The walls were a dark grey colour and attached to the ceiling was a three tiered chandelier, very different to the one downstairs. There was a huge window on the other side of the room with a chair piled with a few books next to it. He had a huge king sized bed covered with a very comfy and expensive looking duvet and a few throw pillows. In the corner of the room there was a door which I guessed led to his en-suite bathroom, lucky him, and next to the door was a huge wardrobe, which could probably fit a whole store full of clothes in.
"So, as you've probably already guessed, were at my house and this is my room", he said, breaking the silence.
"Why are we here?" I asked, genuinely confused as to why he took me to Malfoy Manor in such a rush.
"It's a long story", he said.
"We have time. I think", I added, realising I had no idea what was going on and if we had time or not.
"Okay, fine", he sighed before rearranging some pillows on his bed to make a makeshift crib for Indie, and placing her in it. "I don't want to go into too much detail because I don't like talking about it, and it's not my finest moment", he said, then sat down on the bed next to where I was sitting.

He flinched when I took his hand in mine in attempt to comfort him, but instead of snatching it away like I thought he'd do, he interlaced his fingers with mine. I gave him a faint smile to tell him I was ready to listen whenever he was ready to talk.
"As you probably already know, my father is quite a well known Death Eater," he began, and I nodded, "so when he got himself locked up in Azkaban last summer, you can imagine the Dark Lord was not very happy at all. Because my father was no help anymore, he turned to me and in that summer he made me a Death Eater, and I had no choice", he said as he let go of my hand and rolled up his sleeve to reveal his Death Marks making me gasp. "If I'm being honest, I wanted to be one at first to impress my father, but once I actually became one and realised the true reality of it, I instantly regretted it."
Some tears began to roll down his cheek, so I wiped it away for him with my sleeve. To my surprise, he didn't flinch away when I did, so I continued to do it again when more tears appeared.
After taking a couple of deep breaths, he continued the story, "But sadly, that isn't where it ends. A few days after I became one, he gave me two tasks. Two horrible, horrible tasks that I had to complete by the end of the year otherwise he'd- otherwise he said he would kill me and my mom." I gasped at his confession and brought him into a hug to comfort him as even more tears began to fall down his cheek.
"The first task was incredibly mentally and physically challenging. I had to fix a Vanishing Cabinet in the Room of Requirements to allow Death Eaters to enter Hogwarts, who would then help me with my next task. So that is where I was spending almost all of my time and why I was missing most of my classes."
He paused again then took another deep breath and wiped his eyes. "The second task I had to complete was to- to kill... Dumbledore". My eyes widened at his confession, but I didn't say anything as I could tell there was more he wanted to say. "But, I couldn't do it, I was shaking so much and I just- I just couldn't kill him. I mean, as much as I hated him, he's been my headmaster for the past six years of my life and I could not bring myself to do it. In the end it was Professor Snape."

"Snape?" I asked, shocked by what I was hearing.
"Yes. And after that was when I came to you and apparated you here because Hogwarts is now full of Death Eaters and I couldn't leave you or Indie there", he said as he looked over to the sleeping Indie adoringly.
"Do you know when we'll be able to go back?"
"I'm not sure, but probably not for a long time. With you two here, I can keep an eye on you and keep you safe. However, no one knows you're here yet, or that I have a daughter, so just do what I tell you to do and never leave this room without me or my permission okay?"
"I promise, but do you mind me asking why? Is your dad here?" I asked, needing to know why I wouldn't be able to leave this room without him.
"Worse", he gulped. "Malfoy Manor has now become the headquarters for the Dark Lord and Death Eaters so it is not safe for you to be wandering around."
Panic filled my eyes, so he pulled me into his chest and played with my hair. "It's okay," he soothed, "with me here, you'll both be fine."
I was about to thank him for keeping us safe but was stopped when I heard a knock on the door. "Draco, darling, are you in there?"
I quickly shot up and started to look for a place to hide, but Draco put his hand on mine and said, "It's okay, it's just my mom. I think we should tell her."
"Are you sure?" I said, wanting to make sure he was very sure about this.
"I'm sure", he confirmed before going to open the door.
"Yes, I'm here mom", he said as he opened the door, but not far enough for me to be seen. "Whilst you're here, there's something I need to talk to you about."
"Of course sweetie, what is it?" she asked, having no idea of what he was about to tell her.
Draco opened the door wider to let her in and once she was in he shut the door to make sure no one else could hear the conversation.
"Delilah dear!" she exclaimed as soon as she saw me standing by the door. "How wonderful it is to see you again, what are you doing here?" she asked as she wrapped me in a tight hug.
"That's actually what I wanted to talk to you about", Draco said as he came over to stand next to me once his mother released me. He made sure to block the bed with his body so that Narcissa couldn't see Indie just yet.
"Are you two dating?" she asked with a knowing smile.
"Technically no", he responded. "But we..." He motioned for me to go get Indie off the bed so, nervously, I did just that.
When I returned carrying Indie, Narcissa said, looking a bit confused, "And who is this little one?"
"Mother, this is Indie. My- Our daughter", he said, then took her from my arms and smiled down at her, before looking back up to his mother.
"Daughter?" she repeated with wide eyes, "you have a daughter?" she asked, to which Draco nodded his head. "I'm a grandmother?!" she said excitedly.
"Yes, but please don't tell father, or anyone for that matter", Draco as he wanted to keep me and Indie safe from any harm.
"Your secret is safe with me", she said and mimicking zipping her lips before reaching over to grab her granddaughter from her son's arms.
But, before she could, there was another knock at the door.
"Shit, it's father", he mutter, then handed Indie over to me. "Quick, go hide in the bathroom", he said motioning over to the door in the corner. Straight away, I ran over there and shut the door behind me, with Indie firmly wrapped in my arms.
"Come in", I heard Draco say followed by the bedroom door opening.

Rise of the First Necromancer
Asrael Nessarat awakes on a sandy dune with a mouthful of sand and nothing but tattered rags in his posession. As the High Magus of the school of Necromancy, he once aspired to prove to the Emperor that magic still held a place in their society. But that day came, passed and inevitably accelerated his kind's downfall. Now; they are hunted, strung up and burned on pyres throughout the Empire by the Emperor's holy Inquisition- an efficient and ruthless army hell-bent on bleeding every last droplet of magic from the lands. With nothing but a mouthful of sand and tattered rags; Asrael is determined to seek the one thing his cold, still heart desires. Vengeance. This story can, at times, get very dark. It is not recommended for the faint of heart. This is not a story of an overtly powerful wizard who can pulverize his enemies from across the world, nor is it in any way, shape or form a joyous tale. We follow Asrael as he and his companions explore and seek to change an unjust world, where kindness and acceptance are exceptions, rather than the rule. If you are looking for a story to inspire hope or joy, this is not it. If you wish to read about likeable, heroic people, turn around. If you wish to see good battle evil, where the cut in between is clear, then this is not for you.
