Pain.
Pain was all I felt as a stared at her unmoving, lifeless body.
I could hardly breath as tears started streaming down my face. I fell to my knees with my head in my hands, not being able to hold up the weight of my body anymore.
It felt as though my whole world was crumbling around me, piece by piece, and I could feel my whole body trembling uncontrollably.
Not being able to believe it, I moved my shaking hands over to her wrist to check for a pulse, but I could never find one.
I screamed out in pain, terror, shock, sadness as I buried my face into her cold neck.
Arms wrapped around my body, Grayson's arms. I could feel him shaking and trembling as well, and I felt his tears fall down onto my back as we attempted to find comfort in one another.
I didn't even get to say goodbye. I didn't even get to hug her one last time. I didn't even get to tell her I loved her. I didn't even get to tell her how much I missed her and how hard life has been without her. And I didn't even get to say thank you.
Because, without her I never would've gone to that stupid Slytherin party, and if I didn't go to that stupid Slytherin party, I never would've slept with Draco, and if I never slept with Draco, I would've never had Indie, and if I'd never had Indie, I would've never gotten to know Draco like I know him today.
Without her, I would've never met my boyfriend, the love of my life, my soulmate.
And now, she was gone.
My best friend was gone.
Gone, and there was no way of getting her back.
I don't think I could even begin to say how much she means to me. She's helped to make me the person I am today, a better person. She's always been there for me and helped me through my hardest times. And I mustn't forget how amazing she's been with Indie. She helped me every step of the way through my pregnancy, and she loved Indie, and not to mention Indie loved her.
I don't know how long Gray and I were laying there with her, mourning our best friend's death, but eventually I felt my tears begin to run out. I had been crying so much that I had used up all of the tears in my body, until my wet sobs became dry gasps for air.

"W-we have to g-go", Gray said between breaths. "It's just n-not safe here."
"I-I don't know", I said, not wanting to leave because I knew that it would probably hit me even more when I leave her for the very last time.
"As much as I hate to say this, s-she'd probably want us to keep going, and make her proud by winning this... war, or whatever this is", he said, and I could tell it pained him to say it, even though we both knew it was true.
"Y-yeah, I guess your right", I said, as I placed a last kiss on her ice cold forehead.
"Thank you so much Ash", I whispered to her even though she couldn't hear me. "I love you, and we'll make you proud."
I walked into the newly destroyed courtyard at Hogwarts, followed by everyone else as we saw Voldemort and a large group of Death Eaters walking across the bridge. And in front of them was Hagrid, who looked to be carrying someone in his arms. Who's that? I thought as I made my way further out into the courtyard and stopped on some steps.
"Who's that? Hagrid's carrying?" I heard Weasley junior say as Voldemort ground to a halt. "Neville, who is it?"
"Harry Potter... is dead!" the noseless bastard cheered.
Oh my god! I thought. Even though I'd never really liked him, he did save my life not even an hour ago by rescuing me from the fire in the Room of Requirements, so I did technically owe him my life.
I can't believe he actually died though. I don't know why but I really thought that he'd somehow be able to kill Voldemort, saving the world from his evilness. But now we were stuck with him. The Dark Lord was going to rule the fucking world. Great, just great.
"No!" she screamed as she tried to run towards him but her father stopped her. Is she trying to get herself killed?!
"Silence!" he said as he shot a spell into the air to gain everyone's attention. "Stupid girl, Harry Potter is dead. From this day forth, you put your faith in me."
"Harry Potter is dead!" he repeated as he turned round to the group of laughing Death Eaters.
"And now is the time to declare yourself. Come forward and join us, or die", he said as he waited for people to step forward, but no one did.
"Draco!" my father said, turning all the attention to me. "Draco!" he said again when I didn't even attempt to move. Who the fuck does he think he is asking me to come to him after what I told him yesterday?!

"Lucius, no", my mother said as she tried to pull him back. She was obviously smart and knew that there was no way I was going to join them.
"Are you not coming to join us Draco?" the Dark Lord said as his creepy smile disappeared from his face when he realised that not even one of his followers wanted to join him.
Out of the corner of my eye, I could see a familiar silver haired Ravenclaw coming to stand next to me. I reached my hand out to grab her hand and entwined my fingers with hers.
"Oh, I see. And this girl is more important than me?" he said.
Is he stupid? I thought to myself, of course she's so much more important than him!
But luckily before he could say anything more, none other than Neville Longbottom himself staggered forward, turning the Dark Lord's attention away from me and my Lilah, and towards him.
"Well I must say I'd hoped for better", Voldemort joked, causing all the Death Eaters to laugh. "And who might you be young man?"
"Neville Longbottom", he replied, making the Death Eaters laugh even more.
"Well, Neville, I'm sure we can find a place for you in our rank."
"I'd like to say something", he interrupted.
What happened to this kid? From what I remember, he was one of the shyest people I've ever met and now he's standing up to one of the darkest wizards of all time.
I couldn't really hear what he was saying, though, as I looked over to my Lilah. I was so happy that she was safe and that she was with me now again, and I knew I could protect her and keep her safe myself. But, her face was tear stained and I began to worry and wonder what she was crying about. I gave her hand a squeeze to let her know it was okay and that I was here now, to which she looked up at me and gave me a weak smile.
However, before I could do anything else, our attention was brought back to the front as I saw Neville pull a sword out of the sorting hat.
Suddenly Harry fell out of Hagrid's arms and rose to his feet.
Holy shit, he's alive!
As soon as I saw that he was alive, I knew exactly what I had to do. Pulling a confused Lilah with me, not wanting to let her go ever again, I grabbed my wand out of my pocket and ran over to Harry.
"Potter!" I shouted as I threw him my wand, which he thankfully caught.
Chaos erupted everywhere as Voldemort shot spells at Harry, who managed to dodge them all, thanks to my wand, and ran off somewhere.
I picked up Lilah over my right shoulder and carried her away because I could tell she was tired and wouldn't be able to run fast enough. I ran as fast as I could to try and find some safety, avoiding spells as I was going.
Not too long after, I managed to find us somewhere away from the crowds, somewhere safe where I knew Death Eaters probably wouldn't enter amidst the chaos that was out there.
"My love, are you okay?" I said as soon as we entered the empty office. I gave her a long kiss but pulled back as soon as I felt her tears start to roll down onto my cheeks.
"What happened?" I asked, wanting to know what was wrong.
And then she told me what happened and it absolutely broke my heart to see her so upset. I knew how much Ash meant to her as a lot of the time when we were in the manor together she wouldn't stop talking about her and all of the amazing memories she had with her and, if I'm being honest, I grew actually kind of like her.
I just held her and comforted her as she cried on my shoulder. I played with her hair to try and soothe her and, to tell you the truth, a few tears may or may not have escaped my own eyes at one of the many innocent lives lost.
She pulled out of my arms as we heard cheering coming from outside. I helped her wipe her tears away from her eyes and then we went outside to investigate what was happening and why many people were cheering.
As we exited the room, we looked around and saw so many smiling and relieved faces and people were hugging each other. And, when we looked out into the courtyard, we understood why.
Harry Potter had just killed Voldemort.
Voldemort is dead.
We were free.
+++++
Just to let you know, I'm pretty much basing it off of what events they put in the movies, or were going to put in the movies, so that's why the wording may be different or certain parts weren't in it that were in the books. Also, as you could tell I added a few of my own things in for the story line.
