《Baby Daddy》40. Wedding
Advertisement
Just under three months have passed since that day and we were finally adjusting to being a family of four.
I had to spent a week just sitting in a hospital bed as I got back to my normal self, so that the doctors could constantly check up on me and check that everything was working how it should be. It would've been a nightmare if my friends didn't come and visit me whenever they could and if I didn't have Draco by my side almost the whole time (he had to leave every few hours to check up on Ashton and every now and then he'd even bring him back with him for me to spend time with).
Ashton spent the first month of his life in the hospital so the nurses could monitor him as he was premature. Thankfully all was well and he is as healthy as he can be and was able to come back to school with us the next month.
We then spent the next month and a half getting used to having two kids, whilst still living in school. Madam Pomfrey was a major help and we definitely wouldn't have been able to do it without her, along with our friends who were surprisingly helpful as well - especially Blaise.
As soon as we got back to school however, we had to go straight back to lessons as we still had to complete our NEWTs, which was quite hard considering I nearly just basically died and was looking after two kids. But, in the end, we managed to do it and the exams went by in a breeze, both of us passing all of our subjects.
We also managed to finalise all of our wedding plans that we didn't manage to do before we welcomed our son into the world, so now we were officially ready to become husband and wife.
It was finally the 14th July, the day of our wedding day, and I woke up feeling absolutely amazing, however, it was quite strange not waking up in Draco's arms. Our moms are looking after the kids as well today so we don't have to worry about looking after them whilst also getting ready for the biggest days of our lives.
"Good morning", Anna sang after she knocked on the door and walking through into the room without waiting for an answer.
I had already been up for the past two hours just sitting in bed worrying about everything and nothing. I had a few panics in the night about whether everything was ready or not, and I couldn't get back to sleep, but I didn't mind as my excitement was going to get me through the day.
"How'd you feel?" Anna asked as she dragged me out of bed and onto my feet.
"I feel a lot of things, but mostly excited", I told her.
"Oh good, not getting cold feet are we?" she questioned.
"No, of course not!" I exclaimed, today was going to be the best day of my life and there was no way I was not going to marry Draco, so I definitely wasn't having cold feet.
"Hello!" a group of girls cheered, and I turned around to see Hermione, Cho, Luna and my moms, who were holding Indie, along with Narcissa, who was holding Ashton, walking through the door

"Did I get the time wrong of my own wedding or something?" I asked when I saw that all of them already had their hair and makeup done.
"No, don't worry. The makeup and hair stylist got here early so we thought we might as well get it done now so she can spend more time on you", Luna said.
"Oh, okay", I said as I then proceeded to get my own hair and makeup done.
After I was done, I walked into the little room with my dress in, so that I could get changed. "Are you guys ready?" I said when my dress was on.
"Yes, now hurry up. You're taking forever and we want to see the dress", Hermione urged. As of right now, Anna, Narcissa, Mary and Jenna (and Indie) are the only ones to have seen it, so I was so incredibly excited, and nervous at the same time, to show everyone the dress and get their reactions.
I hesitated slightly before placing my hand on the door handle, opening it and confidently stepping out.
"Oh. My. God!" Cho, Luna and Hermione said in unison.
"It looks even more stunning than I remember", Narcissa said, tears gleaming in her eyes.
"Agreed", Mary replied, and I could also see proud tears starting to pour down her cheeks as well.
"Pretty!" Indie shouted as she tried to escape Jenna's arms but failed.
There was a knock at the door, so I said, "As long as it's not Draco you can come in", because, much to Draco's dismay, we decided he wouldn't even get to have a sneak peak at the dress until I was walking down the aisle.
"We're ready for you now L-" Blaise began as he stepped into the room, but stopped as soon as he saw me. "Fucking hell, Drac's gonna wet himself when he sees you", he laughed.
"In a good way, I hope", I said, unsure if it was supposed to be a good or a bad thing.
"Definitely in a good way", he smirked before continuing with what he was saying with before, "Anyway, what I came here to say was Draco's ready so once you're done, you can come down."
"Thanks, I think we are ready so we'll be down in a minute", I spoke as I started to get butterflies in my stomach from the nerves and excitement.
"Okay, I'll let everyone know", he said, then left the room.
"You ready?" Mary said.
"More than ready", I smiled, we then started making our way down to the ceremony.
When we got there, I could immediately see Draco with his pale blonde hair standing at the front, but his back was facing me.
The music began then Blaise and Anna made their way down the aisle, followed by Hermione and Gray, Luna and Theo, and Cho and Greg.
The music then changed, signalling for Jenna and Indie to start walking - she had to carry Indie as otherwise she would've ran up to Draco. Then Narcissa went down the aisle, cradling Ashton as she did so, and then it was finally my turn to go.
We decided that Mary would be the one to walk me down the aisle at me wedding, and then Jenna would do Anna's wedding, so I linked my arms with her and, when the music changed pace, I began walking down the aisle.

Noticing the pace change in the music, Draco turned around to watch me, and his face is an image I'll never forget.
He looked full of happiness and love as he stared in awe at me, tears already gleaming in his icy blue eyes. He had to rub his hand over his eyes to prevent tears from escaping as I knew he didn't want people to see him cry, even if they were tears of joy - Blaise would never let him forget it.
When I finally reached Draco, I gave my mother a kiss on the cheek to say goodbye, before Draco wrapped me up in his arms.
"I'm sorry, I know I'm not supposed to hug you yet but I couldn't help it", he whispered. "You look- you look... just, wow."
"You look amazing as well", I whispered before we pulled back and held hands, ready to start the ceremony.
Everything around me became a blur as I stared into Draco's eyes and he stared back into mine. To me, he was the only person in the world at that moment, and it was as though no one else existed.
Before I knew it, it was time to say our vows, and I was going first.
"Draco, you know how indecisive I am and how hard it is for me to make decisions, whether that's ketchup or mayo, or shorts or a skirt, or chicken or fish, but choosing to marry you was the easiest decision I've ever had to make. Ever since that day I took you to the shopping centre on the 1st July 1997, I knew that you were the one I was going to spend the rest of my life with, and I knew that I would do absolutely anything to make sure that happened. You showed me a side to you I never thought possible, one that loved and cared, rather than the rough exterior you put up for everyone else to see. It made me feel special, it made me feel wanted, it made me feel like I'd never felt before. At the time, I didn't know what that feeling was, but now I know it to be love. And, thanks to you, I get to experience that everyday, no matter the circumstance. I still get butterflies whenever you smile your beautiful smile, and every kiss is better than the last. We've been through so much together already and I can't wait to start a new life with you, and Indie and Ashton, and go through so much more together as a family. I love you."
Draco couldn't even attempt to hide the tears that were streaming down his face, and by now, he'd given up trying to hide them.
And I silently thanked the makeup artist for putting waterproof mascara on my eyelashes, because if she didn't, I'd look and absolute mess.
Once Draco had taken a few breaths, it was finally time for him to say his vows.
"Delilah, my Lilah, my love, my life, my soulmate, my everything. Before I met you, I never saw a future for myself, I never saw anyone being able to love someone like me, someone who was broken. I thought I had gone past the point of no return and I had no intention of continuing on with my life, as I believed there was no reason to do so."
When he said this, even more tears started pouring out of my eyes, and it made me wonder how different my life, our lives, would have been if we never had each other.
"But that night in the infirmary changed everything. It changed my perspective of life, it showed me how to love and be loved, but most importantly, it gave me a purpose to live. I was a father and I had a job to do. And that job happened to bring me to the love of my life, to you. I'd never experienced love quite like it before, and I didn't know what to do with it. But once I finally realised the value of your love, I really appreciated it and vowed to myself that I would never let any harm come to you. And when I thought I lost you that April evening at St Mungo's hospital, I feared not only what would happen to the kids, but also what would happen to me as I didn't know how to live without you, because my world without you, is a world stripped of its happiness. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me, and there's nothing more I could want in life than to grow old with you, and grow our beautiful little family together, because I love you Delilah, I love more than anything in the world."
Draco and I wiped our eyes dry of tears as we turned out attention back to the ceremony.
"Delilah, do you take Draco Lucius Malfoy to be your wedded husband? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honour and keep him in sickness and in health, and to remain faithful to him as long as you both shall live?"
"I do."
"And Draco, do you take Delilah Jane Davis to be your wedded wife? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honour and keep her in sickness and in health, and to remain faithful to her as long as you both shall live?"
"I do."
"Now Delilah, take this ring", I took hold of Draco's ring and placed it at the tip of his finger, "place it on Draco's finger, and repeated after me. I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness to you."
"I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness to you", I repeated as I placed the ring onto his ring finger.
"Draco, take this ring, place it on Delilah's finger, and repeated after me. I give this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness to you."
"I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness to you", he slid the ring onto my finger, and it fit perfectly.
"So now, it is my honour to declare you husband and wife, you may now kiss the bride."
And with that, Draco and I took our first kiss as an official married couple to the sound of the guest cheering and Blaise wolf whistling.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to present to you Mr and Mrs Malfoy."

Midthalion Saga
+++Working on new chapters. Share what I've posted with your friends and family! Be sure to build strong bonds with those who are important to you. We only have each other in this world for so long!+++ Can Roderick XXIII gather together and train a party of adventurers to clear out Madeon Caves and bring peace to the wildmarches of Midthalion? Sent from his home monastery in the west to the wildmarches of Midthalion, Roderick the Holy Avenger is devoted to living out his oath to bring the Holy Light to the dark corners of the world. He enlists the help of an old friend, Ulrich Vogelbrandt the dwarf druid, to train and prepare a fighting force capable of defending the west from the evil they both see gathering and growing in the east. Eoroth is an ode to Tolkienesque epic fantasy, Robert E Howard and H.P. Lovecraft's pulp fiction, and Gygaxian Dungeons & Dragons. I like to write about serious topics because I think it's fun. I hope it makes for a fun read. Place: Eoroth, a vast, flat world with many continents set in oceans that reach out and mingle with the Celestial Sea. Our story takes place on the continent of Thalion in the middle, unsettled region called Midthalion. Peoples: Races in Eoroth aren't different species; the species of man is just incredibly diverse, consisting of many known races (and perhaps some unknown). There are no humans in Thalion. Thalion's races include variations of elves, dwarves, halflings (billowits), pierros (clownish men), bergeracs (long-nosed and swarthy men of honour), orcs, trolls, goblins, and hobgobs. The Church: There's one dominant religion in Westhalion. The faith of the elves is an analogue to Roman Catholicism while the dwarves practice an Eastern Orthodox analogue. (Forgive me for not having figured out names yet.) The practitioners worship a triune god (the All-Father, Son-of-All, and Holy Light). There are many powers in heaven, all created by God. These include the Twelve High Thrones, individual, created beings who take on the role of guiding mankind in different aspects, drawing them closer and closer to God. (That should be the essentials. I could write pages on the theology. Comment where something's unclear in the story.) Natural World: There are plants and animals in Eoroth, but the world is also inhabited by spirits called aeons. Aeons are transformative beings; in the wild, they'll change based on whatever is happening nearby. Pollute a pond? Expect to see toxic toad-men running around. Leave a bunch of dead bodies strewn across a battlefield? Expect the place to become haunted with ghouls and ghasts. Druids are important for making sure that the aeons are pacified; that their needs are met so that they don't become rampaging monsters. Where the wilderness becomes overgrown, so too do the aeons. Aeons and People: Long ago, men learned how to trap aeons in stone tablets and use them for war. Now, anyone can capture an aeon into a special staff made by a druid. Men train, raise, and bond with these aeons. Druids often build entire ranches devoted to raising healthy aeons as allies and companions. Aeons are divided into twelve known families, and the church sees these as corresponding with the Twelve Thrones in Heaven. Direction: My goal is to get the story to one million words by June next year. I have tons of content in mind for the world. I want to release novels set in different ages of the world depicting different historical events. I hope to expand the setting into a tabletop role-playing game as well as a series of old-school JRPGs. But, it all begins with writing some stories and publishing my novels.
