When they went to George's house, it was raining. George had gotten involved with the rain, and danced in it.
He didn't have what he needed so he wouldn't get sick.
However, he did not.
Now, he was in bed while Dream made him soup. He was coughing and sneezing while using a tissue, he was very sick. He was wiping his nose when Dream came inside holding a tray with soup on it.
He sat up and let Dream put the tray on him, he didn't like to be a babied, but he'll make a exception since it's Dream.
He was about to grab the spoon but then Dream grabbed it and began feeding him.
He looked at him with a questioning look but didn't stop him. He continued letting Dream feed him, it was sweet of Dream.
When he finished his soup, he pulled Dream to bed next to him. He wrapped himself around him, and cuddled him. Dream smiled and put his face in George's hair.
He didn't mind if he got sick, as long as George was happy.
He kissed his forehead before drifting off to sleep, followed by George.
The next morning they woke up with a less sick George. Yay!

Features: - Cyborgs and cyberpunk galore - This is indented to be somewhat “rational” and “hard” Sci-Fi story - Original Fiction however parts of my worldbuilding are inspired by other Sci-Fi stories (duh) Rationale: The future is cool, AIs are kickass, and questions about consciousness are simultaneously existential and yet unanswered. To me, this story is a vehicle for exploring these topics, and also, I wanted to write a story where the protagonist was unafraid of themselves and where their self is more like a git-repo than a meat computer. Disclaimer: This story primarily takes place in what we’d describe as a “cyberpunk dystopia” with some extra technocracy, autocracy, and religious fervor thrown into the mix, so there will be some “grittiness” in this story. Caveat emptor. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character and other characters in my story can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way they view the world isn’t always objective truth (if such a thing even exists) nor do their views and opinions necessarily reflect the views of me, the author. Science Fiction/ Low fantasy Iliad. Oliver just wanted a job that could keep his family fed, and himself sane. Was that so much to ask for? Apparently. As he instead ends up facing monsters and dodging his way to another world instead. Competent as he views himself figuring out how to reopen a portal back home by himself is defiantly above his knowledge base.
