《Dreamnotfound Fluff》12

Dream looked down at his watch. There was still an hour left until the plane landed. He'd been sitting on the plane, wide awake, and hadn't slept a wink at all. To put it plainly, he was too excited to see George.
Dream had been at VidCon, which was actually in California. George hadn't gone, for some reasons of his own, but VidCon was over, and Dream was free to fly back to Florida. To George. Dream squirmed slightly in his seat, and turned towards the window. Outside, you could see the clouds outlined against the dark night sky. Dream sighed, watching his breath steam on the window. He closed his eyes, pressing his forehead against the cool glass.
Dream woke up to the sound of the flight attendant announcing landing over the loudspeaker. Dream sat up straight, staring down the aisle, waiting. He drummed his fingers on his thighs, waiting. Finally, the plane landed, Dream clutched to the armrests, shivering slightly. He never liked the landings. They were always rough, and would jolt him practically out of his own skin. He stood up quickly, pushing to the front of the line, and stepped off the plane first. Dream followed the flow of people, and the crowd spilled out into the front of the airport. He scanned the sea of heads, but nobody that looked like they would be George. He pushed his way through the crowd, head held up high in hopes to spot George's face. But nothing. Dream paused, right before the doors, still looking for George. No where.
Where was George?
He turned around, but the flow of people pushed at him, and he spilled out into the street with everybody else. Dream turned around, slightly worried now, still unable to spot George. He reached into his pocket and dialed George's number, staggering slightly against the mob of people. George didn't pick up.

Dream's breathing was quickening now. He never liked to be around crowds — they usually made him feel sick. But a mob of this size was starting to make him feel claustrophobic. Dream tried to squeeze his way out, but he couldn't find an exit. His head spun, making him stagger a little and crash against a little girl.
"Sorry." He panted. The girl ran away. Dream put a hand to his pounding head. If he couldn't leave this crowd soon, he would probably start choking or something. He looked down into his hand and dialed George's number again. A minute passed, and George didn't pick up.
What was George doing?
Dream shoved his phone in his pocket before he could drop it. He stood up straight, scanning the sea of people. His efforts proved as futile as before. No George. He bent over, feeling slightly sick. His vision was clouding over — whether it was tears, or he was going to faint from claustrophobia, he couldn't tell.
Why did George leave him here? George knew that Dream didn't like crowds and had claustrophobia. Why, then why, would George have left him here to fend for himself?
"Dream?" A voice spoke in his ear, but it sounded far away. A hand lifted him up, supported him. "Dream, are you okay?" The voice seemed far away. It seemed to be growing farther and farther away, echoing in his head. Dream's eyes rolled into his head, and he blacked out.
-
"I don't know what happened, he just passed out."
"Why?"
Silence.
"I think because of claustrophobia. There were a lot of people there..."
"George, you idiot! You knew he had claustrophobia, and you didn't hurry your little ass there as quickly as possible."
More silence.

"George?" Dream mumbled, blinking his eyes open. He was staring up at a white ceiling, lying on a soft bed. George's face appeared above him.
"Dream?" George broke into a smile. "You're awake!"
"No thanks to you, idiot." Sapnap's grumpy voice came from the far corner. Dream groggily tried to sit up, rubbing his eyes.
"What happened?" He finally asked.
"This idiot decided to leave you in a crowd, your claustrophobia kicked in, and you passed out. George had to carry you to the car." Sapnap laughed a little. "Good blackmail," he said, waving his phone threateningly. Dream sat up straight.
"Hey!" He exclaimed. "I passed out! And besides, if you send them that picture, the fans will go crazy."
"Wattpad will love that content." Sapnap smirked, tossing his phone up and down and catching it with one hand, teasing Dream. Dream opened and closed his mouth, so done with the Texan.
"Are you alright now?" George pressed a kiss onto Dream's forehead, gently stroking the dirty blonde hair.
"If you two don't get a room, I'm taking a picture and posting it on Twitter."
George glared pointedly at Sapnap, who raised his hands in defeat and left the room. Dream was silently shaking with laughter. George rolled his eyes at the both of them, and turned his attention back to Dream.
"Yes, I'm fine." Dream cut George off before he could begin. "Just don't leave me in a freaking crowded airport."
George sighed. "I'm sorry. I forgot. I'm really sorry, I-"
Dream cut George off with a gentle kiss. "Now don't forget next time. That wasn't fun."
George smiled, almost sadly. "I'm really sorry, Dream."
Dream rolled his eyes. "I'm fine now. Like I said, don't do it again. And if you do," Dream shook his finger warningly. "I'm not giving you any more kisses."
George blushed. "You're so cringy, Dream."
"But you love me." Dream fluttered his eyelids, and George blushed again.
"Shut up, Dream."
"You don't love me anymore?" Dream scrunched up his face like a toddler about to cry.
"Dream, you're insufferable."
Dream sat up straight, voice indignant. "Who's the one who left me at an airport to struggle with claustrophobia alone?"
George gave Dream an annoyed look, although he couldn't help breaking into a smile at the silly face Dream was pulling. "Dream, stop."
"Only if you say you love me."
"Dream, I-"
"Or else, I'm leaving."
"This is your house."
"I don't care. I'm leaving."
"You wouldn't."
"Just tell me you love me, George."
"Dream!"
"George!"
Silence.
"I love you Dream." George muttered, face blushing. Dream was caught by surprise. He actually didn't expect George to say it.
"I love you too, George." Dream said sweetly, and pulled George in for another kiss.

Re: Dragonize
After an unexpected turn of events, Drew must now survive in a world full of challenges with life-or-death stakes. Gone are the days when the biggest problems to face were awkward small-talk at physics department luncheons or mountains of lab work; this former physicist is now adrift in an unfamiliar land without any equipment. Now, Drew's only tool (if it can be called that) is a System, which provides constant reminders of all of the things that are still out of reach for a low-level being who's just arrived in a new world. Luckily, Drew has one powerful asset when taking on the challenges of this new world: surviving violent conflict is a lot easier when you have the power of a dragon at your disposal. Still, Drew has always considered violence a last resort. Why turn to fists (or claws) when a bit of quiet consideration might expose a better path forward? Maybe a life of quiet contemplation is still within reach for this former academic researcher. ...Or maybe not. It probably won't be a life of bloodless pacifism. Additional information for those who wish to calibrate their expectations (I'm adding this based on a few comments I received from readers who feel that the story is not what they expected from a dragon-themed story): Re: Dragonize is not a power fantasy -- or at least, it's not intended to be one. Re: Dragonize is a progression fantasy starting with a protagonist who must start at the bottom (or close to it), and work gradually upwards, making incremental progress with plenty of setbacks along the way. The protagonist, as someone coming from the world of academia, tends to be cautious, methodical, and contemplative. As such, expect this story to contain more than a few digressions as the main character takes the time to pontificate on a variety of topics ranging from Newtonian physics and horology to the nature of existence and the ethical dilemmas associated with being an obligate carnivore.

The Good Crash: An Oral History of the Post-Scarcity Collapse
"Don't we all feel, deep down, that we deserve the apocalypse?" APRIL, 2028—Global capitalism has collapsed. America has sealed itself off from the outside world, and inside its borders, a revolution rages. All it took was one incredible little machine. That machine turned into two, then four, then eight... like a virus, the replicators spread. As a work of oral history, The Good Crash features over 50 interviews with key witnesses to the events of 2027. The text is rendered in the words used by the interviewees themselves, with light editing for clarity and concision. As such, the book contains language and themes that are not appropriate for children.By capturing the voices to the people at the very root of the revolution, journalist and historian R. Vondersnitch has traced the origins and aftermath of the replicators' rapid spread. Crucially, the book also includes perspectives and testimony from those who attempted to stop the spread of the reps. "Some of these are heroes, too, in their own ways," the author writes in the book's introductory note.
