《Dreamnotfound Fluff》18 - Happy Birthday George!!!

George stirred lazily, drawing the sheets off his body as the sun peeked through a small crack in his curtains. He turned to his side, then realized that Dream wasn't there. Dream had been visiting his family back in Florida, so the pair had been separated. Dream was scheduled to come back in a week, but had promised to celebrate George's birthday virtually. It was November 1st, and since it was slightly cold in his bedroom, he slipped on a hoodie and tore open the curtains. The sun was just peeking it's bright face from beyond the horizon. George frowned, checking his phone. It was already 6:55, which was not bad, considering his sleep schedule. In fact, waking up at this time was considered a miracle event.
George chuckled to himself. Miracle event for his favorite day of the year. Although perhaps it wouldn't be his favorite day, strictly. Maybe Christmas?
George shrugged, swiping and unlocking his phone. He smiled, seeing the bombardment of his Twitter notifications with happy birthday wishes. He replied to a few of the tweets, then tossed his phone on his bed, stretching and making his way into the bathroom.
Just before he was about to push open the door, he heard a slight shuffling sound within. George froze, mind immediately rushing to thoughts like "burglar" to "fox". He held his breath, until he released it, remembering that it would probably just be his dog. The shuffling sounds stopped, almost as though they'd detected George's presence.
Finally, he stepped forwards, pushing open the door and scanning the bathroom.
Nothing.
George frowned.
Just my imagination?
I dunno, I'm not one to hallucinate.
George shrugged. He stepped to his sink and went through his normal morning routine, brushing his teeth, rinsing his face and combing through his mat of hair. Suddenly, he heard a loud bang from downstairs, and froze.

I don't think I imagined that...
George padded out of his bathroom lightly, and jumped back when he felt something soft brush past his legs. He let out a sigh of relief when he realized it was only his kitten.
"Hello." He cooed, patting it on the head. "Did you hear that too?"
The only response from his kitten was a small purr, and then it stalked away, tail held high.
George chuckled, then proceeded downstairs to investigate the noise. Most likely, it would've been something on a shelf that had gotten knocked over by one of his pets. It was a pretty low chance that anyone had gotten in. Or anything had gotten in.
As George stepped off the stairs, he flicked on the lights. Still no sign of anything broken or displaced, although there was still a chance it wasn't in the kitchen.
A flash of color seemed to appear then promptly disappear in the corner of his eye. It could've been yellow, or perhaps red, or orange, or green. George rubbed his eyes, annoyed by his eyesight. He scanned the kitchen a little closer, but didn't find anything else.
George tiptoed to the living room and flicked on the lights. Again, he swore he could've seen a flash of red, or yellow, or orange, or green in the corner of his eye.
Why do I have to be colorblind!?
George huffed under his breath, and after finding nothing, proceeded to look through the front hallway. When he stepped onto the cold tiles of the hallway, somebody rang the doorbell. George froze momentarily, then rushed to answer the door, completely disregarding the fact that it was only 7am, on a Sunday, and he was wearing just his pajamas.
When he pulled open the door, the first thing he registered was somebody's lips on his own, cold and slightly chapped. George pulled away in alarm, then felt his shoulders relax when he met Dream's piercing green eyes. He felt his mouth crack into a grin.

"Thank goodness you brushed your teeth already." Dream was the first person to break the silence, engulfing George into a bear hug. "Shortie, as usual."
"I am not short! You're just tall."
"Nah, you're short, George." Sapnap's voice spoke from behind the pair.
George whipped around to see Sapnap swaggering over with a self satisfied grin. Bad followed right behind Sapnap, grinning widely.
"I got a picture." Sapnap smirked, holding up his phone. "It's going on Twitter if you two annoy me at all today." He winked.
"Now now, Sapnap, don't be so mean." Bad chastised, but his eyes wore a slight glint of amusement. "Happy birthday, George!"
George hugged Bad, unable to keep the smile off his face.
"You all just flew over to the UK to surprise me for my birthday?" He finally asked, stepping back and scanning over their faces, which all wore a familiar grin.
"Yeah, we did!" Bad clapped his hands together. "Your dog is so cute!"
George smiled. "You saw her? She's adorable, I know."
"It runs in the family." Dream commented. George blushed. Sapnap scanned over the pair with an almost knowing glint in his eye.
"Well, Bad, let's go and crash on George's couch so these two idiots can have some privacy." Sapnap pulled Bad away by the arm, who grumbled at first, but finally caved in, following Sapnap to the living room.
"So you were the ones making all that racket in my house?" George asked once Bad and Sapnap had left.
Dream laughed. "It wasn't me! I told Sap and Bad to stay quiet, but they didn't."
George rolled his eyes. "Way to scare me out of my mind at literally 7 in the morning."
"Happy late Halloween, Georgie!"
George facepalmed. Dream reached forwards and took George's hand off his face.
"Now, now, don't cover that beautiful face, I still want to touch it and..." Dream leaned forwards and planted a chaste kiss on his temples, "kiss it."
George blushed beet red.
"Missed me?"
"Nope." George responded, popping the 'p'.
Dream leaned closer again and kissed George on the forehead, a little firmer this time.
George pretended to reconsider. "Maybe."
Dream planted a series of kisses, trailing from the corner of his eyes to his jaw.
George felt his breath hitch. "Probably." He tilted his head to the side to give Dream access to his neck.
Dream obliged, gently brushing his lips down the length of George's neck and then across his collarbone, which caused George to gasp quietly. Finally, Dream gently cupped George's chin, tilting it upwards and kissing George on the lips tenderly.
"Yeah." George whispered. Dream smirked in satisfaction.
"There we go. Now we've got a mutual agreement that I'm the best."
"Now, now, I wouldn't get so excited so quickly." George chuckled.
"You make me excited no matter what you do." Dream winked.
George blushed. "Dream!" He whined.
"What? Can't stand a little compliment from your favorite person?" Dream playfully flicked a strand of hair that had fallen over George's eyes during their mini-makeout session.
George rolled his eyes at Dream.
Dream seemed to hesitate, then brushed his lips against the tip of George's ear, causing a slight shiver to run down George's spine.
"Happy birthday." Dream smiled quietly. "I'm sorry, I didn't get you anything special."
George hugged Dream tightly, inhaling his sweet scent.
"It's enough that you've come."
