Ryan's P.O.V
The group all led in front of me and I walked behind them.
They opened a door that led to the garage and once they were all out of the way, I noticed there were only 2 vehicles.
One was a smaller, rusted out car that we could scrap.
The other was covered with one of those vehicle tarps.
I walked over to it, yanking off the tarp.
I gasped at the beautiful truck in front of me.
It was an all black Chevrolet, sitting on size 38 tires. A small sidestep was hooked onto the side of the truck so the people could get in easier.
It was an extended cab heavy duty, year unknown and honestly, I could care less.
I took in it's full beauty, noticing the huge LED light bar hooked to the roof.
"Holy shit. Why would someone leave this?", I asked.
I got no reply as I looked for the key. From the corner of my eye, something glinted in the dim lighting of the garage.
I walked over, picking the key up off of the hook it was on.
I unlocked the truck door and climbed in, sliding into the leather seat.
It still had that new car smell.
Putting the key in the ignition, I tried starting it up, only to be met with silence.
I frowned, popping the hood before sliding back out. Once the hood was up, I noticed that the battery wasn't even hooked up.
I got it hooked up and I slid back into the driver's seat. I pray to the Goddess that this works.
Pushing the key in and forward, the truck revved to life and I smiled.
The gas was full, the oil was good. Everything was perfect.
I turned the truck off, taking out the key and handing to one of the men.

"Alright. That solves one of our problems. We're going to solve the second one and the third one.", I said.
"What third one?", a man said.
"Money. You can't just walk in and get a table saw and then leave.", I deadpanned.
A look of realization crossed their faces and I smiled.
"Please take me to the Alpha's office.", I said.
The group turned around and moved out of the garage and up the stairs.
We stood in front of an old mahogany door. I pushed it open and walked in. Dust was on everything.
"You said this was the RedMoon pack, right?", I asked.
"Uh, yes ma'am.", a man said.
A smile grew on my face and I walked over to a bookshelf.
I grabbed the edge of one book and pulled it. A few books swung out as one with it, like a door almost.
My smile grew even bigger as I saw the safe.
"The old Alpha was one of my good friends. He trusted me with knowing where his safe was and what the passcode was. He could never remember it.", I informed.
I moved the dial around. After a few seconds, the safe opened with a click.
I took out a large sum of money and a glass spray bottle.
Handing the money to one older lady, I sprayed the bottle on them.
"Now, your scent is masked.", I said.
The group sniffed the air and then smiled. We started walking back down stairs.
Once we got back into the garage, I stopped them.
"What's your name?", I asked the lady I gave the money to.
"Edith.", she said.
"Edith, I want you to get a table saw. But I gave you a lot of money so I'm going to need you guys to get some other things you think we might need and also some food.", I said.

Edith nodded her head and climbed into the truck, the guy with the key climbing into the driver's seat once she got in.
I opened the garage door and they backed the truck out. Once they were out, I left the garage door open and walked out myself.
The group I sent to find some good areas for the 4 main buildings stood in front of me.
"We think we found the perfect spots.", one man said with a grin.

Waking Up
The story of Larin the Builder in the aftermath of Awakening This short story is the epilogue of Awakening, the first book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. This epilogue is a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers between books without being necessary to the main storyline.Waking Up follows the story of Larin, who is alive but unconscious after her ordeal in the Nine Hells. She awakens in A'lara City a few days later and recuperates under the steadfast care of her repentant friend Jorn.As she reacclimates to her waking state, Larin struggles with her gruesome memories of the Hells and her decision to conceal them from Jorn. This story answers the question, Is Larin all right? with a resounding yes, and some storms on the horizon. It also raises the question, What happened to her down there? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Falling Down, about Larin's ordeal in the Nine Hells. Praise for Waking Up and Falling Down: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between Waking Up and Falling Down is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well.-- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
