《Skaikru ☣ Bellamy Blake [2]》Coming Clean

Settling in with Skikru wasn't easy. After all they were Grounders. They were once the enemy. Of course some would be hesitant to live beside one another.
Graciously, Marcus had given them Alec and Nia their own rooms. Jade, of course bunked with Nia, but Fox however was given the option of her own room or bunking with someone.
It took a moment for Fox to decide. If she had family, she would've taken a room with them, but it was just her. Her own room would've been nice but as she thought about it, she remembered all the others that were outside. What if they needed the room? So with that in mind she decided to bunk with Nia and Jade.
So, later that night two of the girls went to bed. One however, couldn't get the look of his cold eyes out of her head.
Why had he looked at her like that? What had he been told?
As she laid there she wondering off all the possibilities. Should she have stayed away? How might this affect their growing relationship?
The thoughts seemed too much for her to handle. To clear her head she got up and decided to explore.
Since the butterfly field was out of her range, she found herself outside staring at the night sky. She wondered about how Lexa had taken the news and about all the consequences to her actions. But what still stuck in her head what his eyes.
She had been so lost in her thoughts she didn't notice the shadow creeping up.
He had no idea why was headed toward her but it was like he was drawn to her. But one thing was sure he needed answers. He needed to know the truth.
But when they noticed each other's presence silence overcame them. There was nothing they could do but simply stare at one another and wonder what the other was thinking.
"Why did you come?" Bellamy was the one to break the silence among them.
Nia stayed silent however, not quiet sure what answer he wanted to hear.
"I came to help." She said hoping it would be something he'd want to hear.
"We don't need your help." He began to speak not in control what he was saying. "You left us on that mountain. We had no other choice than to kill everyone who had helped us. You left."
His words shocked Nia. It felt like a big slap to her face as she stared at him. Her heart dropped as she thought of how he thought she abandoned them. She was rendered speechless.
Bellamy took her silence as something else as he began to walk away.
Seeing his movement, she knew that if she let him leave then he would continue to hate her.
"I didn't know." She said stopping his movements. "I didn't know you weren't going to come out. She told me you'd be there after. That I'd see you when i was done tending to the wounded. If I had known the truth I wouldn't have left. I would have fought to stay there."
"Then why didn't you go back. Lincoln did." He said trying to see why she hadn't come for them.
"When I found out, I wanted to go back. To see if you were okay." She began to explain her reasoning. "And I would have if it wasn't for them."

The girls and Alec popped into his head as he thought of them. The girls stick to Nia like glue and wouldn't go anywhere without her. Alex however is simply alongside the girl. The more he thought about it the more Bellamy didn't like how he was around Nia.
"Under the truce the commander made, the mountain was off limits. If we had gone back to the mountain, we'd be branded as traitors. And that wouldn't bother me but i will not be the cause of them being branded. It was for their sake that I chose not to return to the mountain." She finished explaining.
Once again it was silent among them as Bellamy was trying to come to terms with the whole thing. Clarke had lied to him and Lexa had lied to her. They were separated not by choice but by false information.
"If it has just been me, I would've gone back. I would've been branded a traitor but none of that would've mattered as long as I had you." Nia then admitted to herself aloud. She had fallen for Bellamy but now because of other people they may not be together.
"I don't know what they have told you Bellamy but I didn't leave that mountain to betray you. And I'm not sure who you are willing to believe but believe me when I tell you that I care about you more than you would understand." With that being the last thing she said she sidestepped him and went back to her room.
Briefly their fingers grazed one another and a spark shot up their arms. But right now their emotions seemed to be more in control of them.
Bellamy wanted to stop her. He wanted to pull her back into his arms and kiss her. He wanted to be with her. But all she had admitted left him frozen in his spot.
So he took a seat where she was previously sitting wondering how he could fix this. Everything seemed to rush into his mind as he sat there and looked up into the sky. A smile came upon his face as he thought of what she had told him once before, the sky did help him calm down and settle his mind.
The next morning he had entered the mess hall and glance around. Everyone had their own table as they spoke in hushed whispers.
His eyes settled on her in the far corner. Jade sat to her right, Fox across with Alec by her side. Lincoln and Octavia on the other end of Jade. But the rest of the rest of the table remained empty as everyone glanced at them in uncertainty. No one daring to get closer.
Small potions on the older ones plates while the younger ones had a medium size. All the food they had were from the hunt the Grounders had done when they were training. But the rations were growing thin among the crowd.
She glanced up and met his eyes for a moment before she moved her sight back to Jade. Fox and Jade were unaware of the many sights on them but the others were well aware.
The silence was sickening to Nia. She knew it would be difficult for them to be accepted but she wondered just how long it might take.

Finally, she stood up from the table and made her way over to Marcus. All eyes on her as she made her way over cautious to what she would do next.
"Nia, is there something I can help you with?" He spoke in a calm tone noticing all glancing at them.
"Your rations seem to be wearing thin, Alec and I will be going hunting later today to gather more food. When we return we will need a place to dry the meat. It's easier to preserve that way." She informed him.
"Is that wise?" Marcus said concerned for the two who would be beyond their gates.
"It's a good a time as any. Most would be returning to their homes, we would draw less attention if we go today." She added to set him at ease.
"At least take a few guards with you." He tried to provide as he saw Bellamy's stare on her.
She shook her head before answering him. "It's safer for us to go alone. Besides a larger crowd tends to scare the game."
Marcus let out a sigh knowing this girl was settled with her decision. He nodded his head.
Once again everyone watched as she went back to her table. No one knew what to make of what had happened.
"Get what you need and meet me at the gates." Nia spoke to Alec as she gathered her things she had used.
Alec said nothing as he got up and left the room. Fox and Jade looked at her wondering what she was doing. But before they could question her she got up and left as well. Not a second later the two hurried behind her.
Lincoln and Octavia only shared a look before Lincoln got up and went after his sister. Everyone had heard their conversation and he couldn't help but wonder why she hadn't said he would go too. He understood that the girls weren't going because they weren't experienced, but him. All three of them would be able to bring more food back.
Nia was readying her pack with the girls watching her silently. Before Fox was the one to move to her daggers.
"No." Nia said stopping Fox's movement as she began to pack her knives. "You're both staying."
"Why?" Fox asked for the both of them.
"It's too dangerous for you two to be out there. Your not experienced like Alec and I. You need to stay and train. Or help with a place to dry the meat." Nia pointed out her reasons.
Neither one of the girls choose to say anything to her. They both understood her. She was simply looking out for them. Beside even if they tried to object they would not win.
A minute later Lincoln entered the room. The girls took that as their cue to leave as they exited and went to find something to do.
"Why didn't you tell them I would come too?" He questioned wanting to know her reasoning.
"You can't come." She said simply before turning to look at him. "You went to the mountain, you're branded a traitor. If they see you they will take you and kill you. I can't put you in danger."
He sighed knowing this would happen eventually. She was always one to think of others before herself.
"And what about you?" He implied to the fact that they had left for Skikru.
"We didn't necessary break the treaty and may not be considered traitors. It's our best shot at keeping them alive." Nia reasoned as best as she could.
Lincoln sighed knowing she was right. But he wanted nothing more than to go with them to keep her safe. With them separated he had no way to ensure her safety.
Seeing the conflicted look on his face she stepped forward and hugged him. She knew that they had always hunted together but because of recent events it looked like they would have to do on their own.
"It'll be okay." Nia assured both him and herself.
Once they broke apart he picked her her bag as they walked together to the gate. Alec was already waiting as they approached. But not alone as Marcus and Bellamy stood there as well.
She glanced at them both and knew what they were trying to do. She pulled her hood on and stopped at the gate.
"Are you sure?" Marcus spoke motioning to Bellamy behind him.
Nia didn't answer as she nodded her head. She wouldn't have him come along. She wouldn't know what she would do if they happened to get captured and she lost him. She couldn't bear it. It was for the best that he stay here.
Marcus motioned for the guards to open the gate to allow them to leave. Bellamy kept his eyes on her. They met gazes once more as she turned to look at Lincoln.
"Watch them." She said simply before pulling her mask up and the two began to make their way out.
At the mention of them Bellamy knew who she was talking about again. When he lost sight of her he turned and tried to locate the two girls. He had instructed for the 100 that he knew helped with their meat build a place to take the killings they would bring in. That's where he found Fox.
Lincoln had already made his way over to help. If he couldn't hunt he would help with the killings.
With him there he went to find Jade. She had been sitting sharpening her sword in a spot where she wouldn't be bothered.
"Hey." He made his presence known as he moved toward her. Jade stayed quiet unsure what he was doing.
"Nia said to keep an eye on you." He answered as looked down at her.
Jade remained quiet not sure what to say to him. She took in his appearance before returning to her task.
"I like your sword." He said hoping to get her to talk. "Listen I know it might be hard to go from a place you call home with people you know to a place where you don't know anyone. But if you ever want to talk or just want someone you know you can come to me. I promise I wouldn't hurt you and I won't let anyone else hurt you."
No one said another word as they sat in silence waiting for Nia to return safely.

Disclaimer of sorts: I am non-native English writer that used to write mostly for himself. After my last computer decided to die on me taking all my works with it I lost the desire to write for quite a long time. This is my attempt to go find motivation to write again as this was my favourite hobby. The idea is to be held accountable. As for being non-native, I don't believe that should be a major issue as I feel my proficiency in English to be sufficient enough to not be too much of the distraction. That said, be forewarned that the rules governing punctuation are beyond my grasp. All I can do is try not to completely suck at that. As mentioned this is an attempt to motivate me to write again so any message, encouragement or constructive criticism will go long way. The cover was created with the help of http://fantasynamegenerators.com/emblem-creator.php I hope you will enjoy my story.

The Priest of Genes
Meet Seth, acolyte in the Church of Virtue. He’ll be a Priest like his father soon, he just knows it. Sure he didn’t inherit his mother’s preaching power, but he doesn’t mind being the secondary priest at whatever temple he is assigned to. Just as long as he has a library. Meet this genetics textbook. Hmm, that doesn’t belong here. It must have come from somewhere far away, I guess something happened to its owner. I’m sure a studious young man who likes healing could go far with this information, whether he wants to or not. This is my first time really writing anything, so I hope you like it! Please let me know if I make any mistakes; I have a new R&D tech job at a genomics company, so I probably don’t edit as much as some people. I’m shooting for two thousand-ish word chapters released on Sundays, since none of the webnovels I read ever seem to update that day. Underserved Market! Genre is fantasy, possibly progression fantasy. Maybe a tiny bit litRPG if you wait a while and squint really hard, but that’s the most I’m prepared to claim. Hedged my bets on the content warnings, nothing that bad. Cover art from A. W. Gelman
