《Skaikru ☣ Bellamy Blake [2]》The Commander

A week had passed and Skaikru had no problems. Whenever they had gone out, Nia had hoped to hear some whisper about what Lexa might be thinking or doing. She also hoped to hear whether they were marked as traitors or not but had heard nothing. The matter had been making her anxious.
It wasn't till one morning when a guard ran in and began informing them that two Grounders had rode up to the gate. Everyone seemed to panic as they though the worst.
"Everyone calm down." Marcus was the one to the gather everyone's attention. "We are not sure what they want."
After speaking that he began to proceed to give instructions. He sent his guards to get ready for a possible attack while everyone else went back to their rooms.
During this whole ordeal the Trikru group had been calm. Jade had been confused while the older ones shared a knowing look.
Marcus made his way over to see if they would be able to help defuse the situation. He felt that they're presence might help their situation.
"Lincoln and Alec will go with you." Nia answered for them and left with the girls without an explanation.
No one questioned her as they decided to make their way to the gate. The Grounders sat there among their horses with another in between them. The extra horse confused Skaikru as they stood there.
"What can we help you with?" Marcus questioned their presence.
"The commander has requested a presence." They said simply not adding more.
"A presence with who?" Bellamy asked this time already fearing the answer.
His answer received his answer not by the Grounders in front of them but from one behind.
"Me." Nia answered making her presence known to them. She had a pack slung over her shoulder with her bow in hand and quiver on her back.
The girls had questioned her while she packed but not knowing the right answer herself, she simply gave them a hug and a kiss on the forehead. She had been waiting for this exact moment since they had arrived.
"Nia, what are you doing?" Abby spoke up this time. Due to her recovery, the chancellor had begun to take on her duties now along with still begin a doctor to her people. She had thanked Nia and Alec for their hunting they had been doing and their decision to help them.
"I was expecting them to come the day after we arrived but now is a good time as any." Nia admitted as she made her way to the gate.
"Why does the commander want to meet with you?" Bellamy stepped into her path. He needed to know what was going on.
"By me meeting with Lexa I will find out where we stand among the clans." She began to explain. "We didn't break the truce, but we did leave. Me going to Polis would allow us to know whether we're marked as traitors."
"We?" Bellamy said not liking how this conversation is going.
"Alec, Jade and I." Nia provided simply.

"And what happens if you are marked a traitor?" Abby wondered as the remembered what Finn and Raven would've gone through and they were simply enemies.
"If we're marked then the commander will hold my punishment in Polis. While Alec and Jade will be scouted." She answered avoiding eye contact with the one in front of her.
Bellamy sucked in a breath as he thought of the unthinkable. If she leaves those gates there was a possibility of not seeing her again and he did not like those odds. "Why you?" He asked not wanting her to leave.
"Because I have a better chance." The answer simple like it was the easiest decision. "If we are marked I will accept my fate. But if we are not I have a better chance at speaking with Lexa."
No one liked the idea that the life of the girl who had helped them remained in the balance of the unknown. But her reasoning of the person going made sense.
"It's the only way." Nia said softly as she finally looked up into his eyes. She placed her hand on his cheek and gently stroke it. His hand covered hers as he savored the feeling. This had been the closest interaction they had since the night they had kissed.
After a moment, Bellamy reluctantly stepped aside. His eyes stayed on her as he watched her walk through the gates. No one commented about the interaction as they watched her mount the horse.
Nia sent her brother and Alec a look that told they to watch out for the girls she was leaving behind. They sent her a nod before the three turned their horses and rode off in the distance.
Everyone was silent as they watched the figure retreat into the trees. Now all they could do was wait and hope for the best outcome.
The whole ride to Polis, Nia's heart drummed inside her chest. Not knowing what the future entailed made her anxious.
Lexa and Nia were sisters, yes, but that didn't mean Nia's actions would all be overlooked. She was expected to follow the laws like everyone else and if she broke it she would face her punishment.
When the reached the city limits, Nia followed their law and disarmed her weapons. With her head high she followed her guards inside. The silence was deafening as they made their way to the commander's throne room. When she entered, all eyes were on her.
She made her way forward and knelt in front of Lexa. She steadied her breathing as she made eye contact with her. Indra was the leader of Trikru and Nia being a member meant Indra stood to the right.
"Nia kom Trikru, you were asked her today for not only yourself but for Jade and Alec kom Trikru." Lexa began to speak. "You have taken actions that have been questioned by your clan." Nia inhaled as she awaited for their marking. "Some have deemed this as unhonorable and requested a kill order. Some say banishment. Whereas others see no harm done. I am the commander of the twelve clans, therefore I have the final say." It was silent for a moment as they awaited her next words. "Nia, Jade and Alec have not broken the truce but rather help another in need, therefore no bounties will be placed upon their heads."

Her eyes closed briefly as a sighed slipped passed her lips. They were safe.
Others however cried out in outrage at the request. When Nia looked in the direction she could see that the ones who disapproved was Azgeda. Azgeda had been the only clan that Nia had disliked. They were ruthless and tried to defy against Lexa whenever they could.
"This is an outrage! Those three helped and lived among an enemy!"
Lexa however was quick to silent their protests. "They have not broken any laws or truces. Skaikru has no been pronounced an enemy to the clans."
"Then what would you have us do commander?" Another ambassador questioned.
"Rise Nia." Lexa instructed as they all awaited an answer.
"You have been living among Skaikru, tell us what action would you recommend?" She asked for input after she had stood.
Nia thought for a moment. She could tell that Lexa had wanted to help in someway on account of Clarke. But to do it among those who were would oppose her was dangerous. She was a leader, a leader of twelve clans, one wrong decision and they would want her blood.
"Skaikru is no threat to us. Their chancellor is willing to make peace to ensure their survival." Nia said hoping it might help the situation. "I recommend a ceasefire."
Once again Azgeda spoke out against it while the rest remained silent. But Lexa held up a hand silencing them again allowing Nia to continue.
"They have no interest in starting a war but rather to prosper. To build a life for them. And they cannot do that behind their wall. Alec and I have been the only ones hunting. Two hunters to feed hundreds. A ceasefire would allow them a chance." Nia finished her reasoning.
The ambassadors whispered among themselves as they thought of what she had said. The edge of Lexa's lip curled upward as she held a proud glimmer in her eyes. Indra remained stoic but the pride swelled inside as she thought of how good a leader Nia would be.
Their attention was pulled back when an ambassador stood and supported the ceasefire. The rest stood except for Azgeda but the support was all Lexa needed as she stood and pronounced the ceasefire. She had also announced that Nia would speak on Skaikru's behalf. No one argued as they proceed to leave.
As Indra walked by she placed a hand on Nia's shoulder and gave her a comforting squeeze. Nia nodded her and the warrior left out the doors leaving the two alone.
"Nia?" Lexa said quietly not wanting to upset the girl. She had wanted to see her since she had found the letter but instead allowed both of them some distance.
"Why?" Nia questioning why she had lied.
"To keep you safe." Lexa answered truthfully. "You wouldn't have come otherwise."
With that being said Nia knew she wouldn't have. Lincoln had told her what had happened to him and knew the same would've happened to her if she knew. So maybe Lexa lying had saved Nia, Jade and Alec from the fate they would've had.
"I don't appreciate being lied to." Nia admitted as she looked at Lexa.
"I know." Lexa said as she placed her hands on her shoulders. "And I'm sorry, Zhalia."
Nia didn't offer any words as they embraced each other. They took comfort in one another's presence as they stayed in that moment. No matter what would happen among the two they would forever be sisters. And they would need each other to fight off the demons that lingered in the shadows.
"Lincoln?" Nia asked as she pulled away from the hug. She had escaped an ugly fate and worried about the fate of her brother.
Lexa looked at her sadly not wanting to give her the answer. But she had the right to know.
"He went to the Mountain, he broke the truce. There is a kill order. I'm sorry." She answered truthfully.
Her breath hitched as she thought of the loss of her brother. The person who had cared for her and had always been there for her. Her brother who had wanted nothing but peace. What was worse was that there was nothing she could do to lift it.
"Just don't let them get ahold of him." Lexa tried to offer an option for her to stay with her brother. "In time it will get lifted but for now it's better if he says with Skaikru."
She nodded her head as she calmed herself. She needed to keep a clear head if she was to help Skaikru.
"I need go get back." Nia stated as realized all the time that had passed. If she didn't get back then they would think they were marked and she would be dead. "I need to let them know." She added in a double sense. Jade and Alec needed to know they were safe. But she also needed to tell the others about ceasefire.
"Of course, but I will need you back often. Keep them and me informed." Lexa said not knowing whether she'd leave Skaikru so suddenly. A part of her could tell she had found yet to find a sense of peace about her feelings to a certain person among their group, and she wouldn't want to pull her from it. Nia deserved a chance to be happy with someone.
With everything done Lexa pulled her into another hug before allowing her to leave. She instructed a guard to escort her out and gave the horse to Nia. She would need it for her constant trips to the capital.
The evening sky was colored as Nia began to make her way back. She let out a smile as she thought of all that had happened. Maybe they could live in peace, all she had to do was help keep it.

Rise of the First Necromancer
Asrael Nessarat awakes on a sandy dune with a mouthful of sand and nothing but tattered rags in his posession. As the High Magus of the school of Necromancy, he once aspired to prove to the Emperor that magic still held a place in their society. But that day came, passed and inevitably accelerated his kind's downfall. Now; they are hunted, strung up and burned on pyres throughout the Empire by the Emperor's holy Inquisition- an efficient and ruthless army hell-bent on bleeding every last droplet of magic from the lands. With nothing but a mouthful of sand and tattered rags; Asrael is determined to seek the one thing his cold, still heart desires. Vengeance. This story can, at times, get very dark. It is not recommended for the faint of heart. This is not a story of an overtly powerful wizard who can pulverize his enemies from across the world, nor is it in any way, shape or form a joyous tale. We follow Asrael as he and his companions explore and seek to change an unjust world, where kindness and acceptance are exceptions, rather than the rule. If you are looking for a story to inspire hope or joy, this is not it. If you wish to read about likeable, heroic people, turn around. If you wish to see good battle evil, where the cut in between is clear, then this is not for you.

Summary: Just the story of a necromancer and his eventual army. Currently, the only major thing of note is a pretty fleshed out magic system. No set list of spells or specific incantations. Just rules similar to the laws of physics, within those laws you can do whatever is possible. Updates: I work Sunday thru Wednesday and updates tend to revolve around my scheduled days off. Currently, I release content as I feel it's ready for release because that's what I myself would prefer from an author. Warnings: This story is graphic. blood/necromancy magic that requires self-harm to use. explicit descriptions of sexuality. (though fairly tame outside of the marked chapters, at least compared to said chapters) and is generally darker in tone. If you're concerned you might start to read only to be turned off by these elements. See 7. Teetering on the Edge for an example of the graphic nature of violence or 9. Explicit Content for a fairly self-contained example of the most explicit of the sexual content.

Four story anthology
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] [participant in #NaNoWriMo] Preface: This fiction will contain four different stories set up as a challenge for myself and to get better at writing. The challenge for royal road writathon is a 55.555 word goal while the nanowrimo challenge is 50.000 words. Reader suggestions is turned on, feel free to point out errors I missed and I'll fix them up! Chasing sun, napping softly: Cultivation/Xianxia genre. Some parts will poke at the ridiculousness of the Xianxia gerne. We follow the life of a magical fox monster, who doesn't like how the cultivation world works. Said beast seems to have more knowledge than is usual for normal magical beasts. In it's infinite wisdom it decided to search for the main character of the cultivation world to have a cozy and safe place beside him. Our fox will act as a "wise beast" to coast along on the main characters rise to greatness, all for peace, happiness and that amazing napping spot in the sun. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing in first person. Comedic effect between talking vaguely and sounding wise. The cost of heroism: A story more centered around fights and mental health of hired mercenaries/heroes. The world is infected with an eldritch corruption. Humans are trying their best to explore and clear out wilderness and the dungeons hiding in them to establish new cities. Lords seek for hired hands to do the professional work. Thanks to the setting, the story will show how awful pasts are the norm and how pragmatic people became thanks to that. People exchange their sanity for riches, fame and gods acceptance. Interpersonal relationships change drastically and quickly. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing grim scenes/imparting a feeling of how grim the world is. Writing fight scenes. Showing different mental states. Describing their influence on people during fights, walks or even after successful or failed campaigns. Who will be the next powerhouse? : A story about a gaming show, it's host Staan and the different participants. Stereotype characters, stereotype backstories, silly challenges and quizzes. The winner of those challenges gets powerups for their power system. Be it magic, ki, psychic power or anything else imaginable and unimaginable to reach the power of gods. The challenges for myself with this story: A softer tone for storytelling. Making the reader smile and enjoy themselves. A different try at slice of life story. I was left behind on earth as my family conquered another world and enjoys riches, but that's okey because I got a cheat too! : Stereotypical Isekai story parody twisted into an Urban Fantasy story. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing over the top and overdramatic scenarios/scenes Writing in first person. Walking into stereotypical scenarios and making them more dramatic/giving them a twist. Different type of humor.

We like to think there are no monsters. No magic, no gods, nothing waiting in the night but the stars and cold, hard science. It’s a comforting thought. It isn't true. Magic isn't common, mind you. Working forces is difficult in the Age of Man, and gods are limited in the ways they interact with the world. The great monsters of old have mostly been slain, or sealed away. But rare or not, the magic isn't gone. The great Working that protects us from the horrors of the past does not have the power to destroy such things. Instead, it created the Partition, a tapestry of worlds beyond the boundary of our own. There the magic roams, searching for a way to come back. I am a Knight of Avalon. One of the protectors of the Partition. How did I get this job? Poor decisions, mostly.
