《Skaikru ☣ Bellamy Blake [2]》Hopeful Or Hopeless

"Everywhere I looked, there were fins. And teeth. And blood. I knew if they saw me, I'd be next, so I just floated there, waiting, praying they'd swim on. But they didn't."
Most of the group's attention was focused on girl who was telling the story in front of the room. Everyone drawn into her details.
"She's here. Maybe she changed her mind." Bellamy called out to the group as he and Clarke approached her.
"The boat's return at nightfall. Then you leave. Forever." Luna offered simply. She happened to glance over to the others who remained in their seats and her eyes settled on Jade. The girl's attention seemed to be centered on the story being told as she loved to let her imagination flow with it.
"Luna, let us explain." Clarke tried to inform further. To them Luna was their last chance at winning a war that they had no idea how to fight.
"I said no." Luna replied back not wanting to continue to discuss her becoming the commander.
"No, you need to hear this." Bellamy words caused Luna to halted as she turned to listen to him. "There is something out there that is going to destroy us all."
"Whatever it is, it can't reach us here." Luna responded convinced in her ways. Without waiting for them to respond Luna walked toward the rest of the group. "We need to talk." She spoke directly toward Octavia and Fox.
"That's my cue." Jasper commented as he got up to leave.
That left them with Jade who was too engrossed into the story than to notice what anyone else was doing.
In Luna's hand was two journals similar to each other. "I'd thought you'd want this back." She helped each to them. Both were Lincoln's journals but she couldn't tell which one belonged with which girl but they were able to tell them apart as they grabbed their own from her.
"It's actually Jade's but thanks." Fox stated as she placed the journal beside the small girl beside her.
"Thank you." Octavia said as she grabbed her own. "And my sword?"
"Your weapons will be on the boat." Luna commented as her rules stood.
"Well. So much for the great Luna, the savior of those in need." Octavia responded in spite.
"You don't want saving. You want someone to fight with you." Luna stated at Octavia's attitude.
"Damn right, we're at war. Luna, you can't just ignore that. Lincoln would have wanted you to help us." Octavia fired back not seeing why she wouldn't fight for her people.
"By becoming commander? I don't think so. Lincoln and Nia knew our rules. We take people in who are done fighting. Done killing. Look at you. Fighting is all you know. Death is all you know. They both respected that and would have never brought that here." Luna replied back. She had known the siblings longer than they have and she felt that they had both respected her way of life especially after all they had endured. She knew a part of them wanted to live their lives without having to fight but that option never seemed to be in the cards for them.

Her words surprised them both as they sat and thought of it. Lincoln and Nia were similar in more ways that one. Everyone seemed to know that their will to fight had come from their father whereas the longing for peace came from their mother. They wondered if things had been different would the two had lived among Luna's people as they had planned.
The group had gotten back together as they sat and waited the anticipated leave. Jade was focused back on the journal as she filled through the pages. The only person not among them was Jasper.
"Jasper's actually smiling." Bellamy commented as he looked at Jasper. Jasper talked to the girl who had told the story of the sharks. "Clarke, let it go." He told the blonde whose attention was still on Luna.
"We can't just leave." Clarke was determined for Luna to take the Flame to defeat ALIE.
"It's not like we have much of a choice." Octavia stated not like the fact that they have to leave.
"Maybe we do." Clarke responded with an idea in her head.
"What are you talking about?" Fox asked wondering how she Luna would take the Flame.
"I'm talking about putting this into her head without asking." Clarke clarified for them.
"No way, Clarke. This isn't like Emerson, he was trying to kill us." Octavia argued against the idea. It wasn't a good idea in the slightest.
"You think I don't know that." Clarke retorted not liking the situation either but Luna didn't leave them with much choice.
"Clarke, we don't have to do this. We can fight, we can go back to Arkadia. We arm up." Bellamy tried to reason hoping she might listen.
"Fight who? It's an army of our own people. I don't like this any more than you do. But if Raven's right, then the code in this thing can stop ALIE. Give me a better idea." Clarke explained her reasoning before asking for an alternative.
The group heard someone call to Luna bring their attention back to her. But they held their breath as she approached them. Thinking she might've overheard them they sat and waited for her to speak. But she didn't come to them, instead she went around them to the girl who was too invested in the journal in her lap to listen to them.
"Jade." She spoke softly bring the girl's attention to her. "Would you like to join us? I'm teaching the younger kids about netting."
With such eagerness to learn as much as she could Jade nodded her head. She handed the journal to Fox as she followed behind Luna.
Clarke watched as she left, she was scared that the girl would out them as she might've heard their discussion.
"She didn't hear anything." Fox told her once she noticed Clarke's eye on her.
"How can you be sure?" Clarke was unsure of the situation.
"Because when she opens this," Fox gestured to the journal in her hand, "her attention is set." She remembered the many times that she and Nia had tried to pull Jade from the journal only for them to have to call for her multiple times. That journal meant more to Jade than anything else.

It was only another minute that they had decided that putting the Flame in without Luna's permission might be their only way to get the code. No of them liked the option but it was the only one presented. Leaving everyone there Clarke went in search of Luna.
With everyone seeming to go onto their own things, Bellamy sat there and was left to his thoughts. But all his thoughts consist of were Octavia's anger, how he had snapped at Jade, and Nia and his baby's well-being. No part of him liked being so distance from any of them but it was their current standings.
He pulled the papers from the inside of his jacket pocket and looked at them carefully. On top was the ultrasound picture that Nia had thrown at him. Underneath was the picture he had torn from Lincoln's journal when they had tortured him. He wanted nothing more than to turn back time and change his actions. Then he would still have Nia by his side and would be able to participate in her pregnancy.
"She's healthy." Fox commented once she noticed what his attention was on. "She still makes sure Jade and I have food but now she's eating more." She paused her speaking as she thought of all the dangers Nia might be in now. "I never should've let her go to Polis on her own, but someone had to be there for Jade."
"You never could have anticipated this happening. Her going was the better move for her. You can't blame yourself for that." Bellamy comforted. He knew what blaming yourself does and didn't want her to go down that path. "We'll get through this and we'll get back to Nia. We won't have to worry about anything else but her and the baby." He comforted.
"You really believe that?" She asked as their current predicament was going the odds were stacking up against them.
"I have to believe that it will work out." Bellamy answered truthfully but the hope he had for him reconnecting with Nia was slipping further and further away. He won't know what to do if he lost everyone for good because of what he had done. All he wanted to do was make amends with everyone about everything. He wouldn't know what he'd do if his actions had caused Nia to keep the baby from him.
His gaze went back the pictures in his hands. The more he realized what his life had become, the more he regretted letting the pain of losing people control him. The more he regret letting Pike whisper into his ear. And the more he regret picking up that gun. But that was in the past, he could only try and change the future that was in store for them.
"Careful not to catch yourself. We don't fish for children. It's important that we all work together." Luna told the children that were gathered around her. Her attention flickered through each one before settling on Jade. The light in her eyes suggested she was enjoying the teaching she was given.
The more she observed her the more she could tell why Nia had taken her under her wing. She was a quick learner and seemed to love to learn just about anything. She could tell Nia had been the one to take care of her by the way she lingered on the drawing of Nia in the journal. They had a deep connection just like one Luna held with one of her own.
Her gaze shifted to Derrick approached them with Clarke following behind. She let out a sigh knowing what Clarke would want to talk about and despite not wanting to talk about it, she decided to listen to her. She excused the children so that they might have some privacy to speak.
But as the children left not all of them followed. Since Clarke had informed them of all the former commanders begin inside the Flame, Jade had taken quite an interest. With this in mind she found a spot close by and opted to hide.
From her position she could see they completely and hear them as well. She stayed quiet and low as she watched them speak. But it was only for a moment as Clarke had done something she had never expected. Clarke had pulled the Flame and had tried to put it into Luna. But the natblida had overpowered her quickly, she had even taken the Flame from her.
With Luna still not giving in and the Flame now in her possession there was nothing more that any of them could do but wait to go back. Jade moved from her spot to head back to the group when a young girl stopped her. It was the girl that Luna had hugged before the children had left.
The girl suggested for them to go to her favorite place on the rig. She wanted Jade to see how their view of the world would be different from her own.
Thinking that this might be their only time on the rig Jade agreed. As they walked past the main room Jade told Fox her who she would be with until the time for them to leave was there. Fox was very reluctant to allow her to go but they were completely isolated with ALIE far from them.
The two girls went down many corridors until they stopped on a balcony on the far side of the rig. The sun had begun to set and the ocean glistened underneath them. It was beautiful. In that moment Jade felt like there would be a good outcome for them. That they would get back to Nia and their lives would be okay.
But that's not what would happen because ALIE was determined to chip everyone else.

Reincarnated As A Benevolent Tyrant
NOTICE: This story is under rewrite. New novel has been published. Search **RE: Tyranny** in Royalroad for the new novel.Link- Re: Tyranny Thank You! ------------------------ "Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory." What a brilliant line, isn't it? James was a boy who had nothing to worry about. A happy family, a nice childhood. What's more to ask? But one day, everything changed. He lost everything in the blink of an eye. The only thing left for him were the memories and dreams of the past. Trying to cope up with the loss, he cut all ties with the outside world and became a shut-in, having no one left to call his own or to rely upon. There was nothing left for him in this world, but still he lived and soon found a purpose in his life, which lead him to create something that could change the world. And on the very day when his dream project was about to come to the light, he lost his life, trying to save a little girl from an unfortunate accident. "Will I ever be remembered...? I wish... someone would." These were the last word James mumbled before his conscious faded into darkness. But his life didn't end there, as he is transmigrated into the body of an arrogant, worthless Duke's son in some unknown land with no memories about who is or any idea about where he is. In an era of political turmoil and civil strife, the Duke's son is forced to prove his worth for inheriting the title. Will he be able to accept the new reality and prove himself by leading this country into a prosperous future? Or will he cease to the pressure of his past and lose everything once more? Disclaimer: This is not a power-fantasy or a 'feel-good' story. If you feel a protagonist should never lack agency (especially in early story) or make compromises because of difficult circumstances, then this fiction is probably not for you. It is a story that delves deep into real world sociological/psychological subjects and explores many topics of gray morality. I wrote it because I like stories that make me think more about the world around us, not to detach myself from reality. Some aspects you can expect based on the tags include:- [Kingdom Building]: political drama, geopolitical/geoeconomic strategy- [Army Building]: massive battles featuring in-depth planning, combined arms, and operational logistics- [Identity Crisis]: someone translated into a whole different world having to rebuild their identity and life aims The story starts off slowly, more like a slice of life than action-adventure, but I guarantee you it will get there. For those who want to skip the slow part, start from Chapter - 35 (Beginning of The End) (The whole Disclaimer section is copied from Aorii as I am too busy writing the complete story.) And yes, just for General Knowledge, James will become OP throughout the story. He is not some legendary guy who will pull out Excalibur & conquer the entire world. Update Schedule - One chapter a day. This novel is also available on Scribble Hub. And again, I humbly thank you for reading it. I hope you stick throughout the journey.
