《Blood means your related, it doesn't mean your family.》Preface

The people of Polis were not shocked to see a young child running through the streets. It happened often in the Capitol. Children ran and played freely nearly constantly. So, when the young girl with flowing brunette hair and striking green eyes made her way through the crowds, it was no surprise.
The surprise happened nearly a second later when an identical child came streaking behind her. All heads turned to follow the girls. It was rare for children to be born in twos; most people had not seen twins before, let alone those with the same face. The people did not get a glimpse for long, as the children were lost from sight almost as soon as they entered it. The crowded streets did not allow for much visibility, plus, the girls were unusually fast for their age.
That's why they were in the city. The young Trikru girls could not have been more than 4 or 5 summers old and already showing much promise to be proficient warriors. They were even showing more promise than boys three summers older than them. That's why the new leader of the Trikru clan was seeking approval from the Commander, to have them both as her second.
The girls ran through the city in perfect harmony, their two sets of feet running in rhythm and their giggles filling the air. They didn't even realize how far they were getting from the Commander's tower. The girls chased one and another through the streets and alleys, never stopping even though they had burning lungs and aching legs. They may be small, but they already had the hearts of champions. Nearly all who met the girls knew that they would bring their parents pride as they grew.
These girls were special. Yet, no one knew how special. Most believed that they were born to fight together, but it was the opposite. It was their blood right to fight to the death. But for now, they were allowed to play together. And unfortunately, it was their ability to play together, that would separate them.

In their games, the girls hadn't realized that they had entered a section of the city where many thieves and spies resided, this was their first mistake. The second girl, Alex, also failed to see the large stone that sent her spiraling to the ground. It was the first time the young girl had been bested by anyone, let alone something as silly as a rock. The hard ground cut nearly a four inch gash into her forearm. Dark liquid escaped her arm.
Panicked, Alex called for her sister, "Leksa!" This was the second mistake. When Alex shouted for her sister's help it brought attention to her, attention to her blood. When she noticed the lingering eyes, she tried to wipe the blood onto her shirt but it only made the ebony stand out even more.
The crowd looked astonished as a whisper broke across the crowd, "Natblida." Terrified, Alex took off into the crowd, looking for Lexa to help her.
"Leksa! Leksa! Sis ai au!" Alex yelled for help in her native language. But to no avail, Lexa was gone. She was off running still, thinking that she had a leg up on her sister. Not even knowing that she may never see her sister again. Alex's feet pounded on the ground as she ran, her legs heavy from exhaustion and blood loss. It felt like she had run the same streets over and over again, trying to find her way back. She hadn't realized how much time had past in her frenzy to find Lexa. The sun had went down and less people were on the streets. Alex decided to stop to catch her breath. She had been running for a long time for her small body and she was becoming faint. This was her third mistake.

Before she even knew what was happening, a large hand covered her mouth and whisked her into the shadows. She tried to scream but the large dirty hand muffled the sound. She tried to fight but the tiny girl was no match for the giant man. Even with all of her fighting promise, she didn't leave a mark.
"Ahh yes, you will be the perfect gift to my mother," The Man grunted holding her tight, "yes, the Queen will be happy that Azgeda finally has their own night blood." Alex screamed again at the language. She only knew a few words of English, as it was only spoken by warriors. But she did know the word, Azgeda, and she knew that they were at war with the Ice Nation. What Alex didn't know was that she was being taken by the Prince. Alex's body went limp and just as Prince Roan had expected the child had fainted.
"Sweet dreams child, because where you are going, it's going to be a living nightmare." The prince growled. He lifted the girl again and began his trek back to the place he was never suppose to return to. The place he still called home. Azgeda.

Advent of the Mindfire Mage: A Challenger's Return Story
Updates MWF, 6PM EST! Not so long ago, a story was posted on Webnovel, one that fired my imagination unlike almost anything before or since. It was known as The Challenger's Return: Rebirth of the Rainbow Mage. However, 150 chapters in, the author NightWind, who I'd personally interacted with and begun to consider a true friend, vanished from the internet without a trace. And so, I have acted upon my fervent desire to pick up his torch, to refuse to let his world that stirred such passion in me die. Read below about my own take on The Challenger's Return. Was Lheticus summoned to the Tower by chance, or by choice? Either way, with the new power he wins, he won't hesitate to burn anyone who seeks to keep him from his true love to cinders, and with a unique ability of the highest potential, he may just succeed, but he's just as likely to burn himself down. And as it turns out, the latter case may be woven into his very destiny...can that destiny be changed? And if it is, what will be the repercussions for the Tower? (You may want to read a fair amount of the original Challenger's Return before starting this, as, particularly in the early chapters, many things that are laid out in it are glossed over in this story.)
