Green. All Marinette could picture in her mind were those terrifying green eyes. She walked home and friend to forget about it as she fell asleep.
She was in a white plain room. In the middle stood her and Gaby. Her brown hair flowing down to her waist. Her black eyes filled with worry.
"What do you want, Gaby?" Marinette asked. In reply, Gaby shook her head and walked forward.
"I've come to warn you. There is something evil nearby. It's watching you and your friends. You have to be careful. I don't know how long she will be away. But she will come back!" She shouted. Marinette put her hands on her hips.
"How do I know you are telling the truth? After all you possessed me and tried to kill us!" Marinette yelled. Gaby took her hand and continued.
"I know I've made mistakes. But she told me it would bring me back to life. She told me if I possessed someone, it would bring me back! But now you don't have to forgive me or anything. Just listen." She paused. "Stay away from the green eyed girl. She has green eyes. But sometimes they flicker to blue. If they are green, stay away." She said before disappearing.
Marinette woke up with a gasp and rubbed the back of her neck. 'How will I tell my friends?' She thought.

Daniel's uncle wishes to keep him away from the world of supers, but with the hot zones closing in, that's easier said than done. There are villains selling unregulated superpowers to gangs and dark days are on the horizon. Despite his limitations, there is no stopping Daniel. He is ravenous for power. If needed, he will ally with demons if they give him the power to protect his family and home. -------------------------------- This world building is heavily inspired by Worm and The Boys. It features dark, realistic storylines, corporation-funded heroes, and villains who aren't necessarily bad guys. The protagonist's powerset involves the crowd-favourite consuming enemies for power trope, too. The GameLit/LitRPG elements are super light and takes a while to kick in. The powercreep is slow as well since I don't enjoy overpowered protagonists. Chapters everyday until book 1 is complete. The schedule will change once I reach that point.

Of course getting to the east coast is only half the battle. Once there, he must contend with the so-called “civilized people.” Then there’s the ship ride; pirates and sea monsters are a thing too, after all. Should have read the brochure. But when the chips are down, the bad guys are winning and the wild winds of chaos are blowing, it helps to have a fighter on your side. Even if he is a little wild. After all, that’s not really a problem. That’s what beautiful women and lots of gold is for. Proper motivation is always key to success. Welcome to a Steampunk, Wild West, Victorian era, Lovecraftian infested, fantasy, shoot ‘em up world.
