《Trick Or Treat || Michael Myers X Reader》Chapter Seventeen

I could hear the faint sound of ringing.
It was quiet, but incredibly annoying.
...
I forced my eyes open and sat up, "The phone!" I exclaimed in shock and hurried to stand up and rush out of my room.
Upon making my way to the kitchen I picked up the phone and held it to my ear, hoping I had picked up before the call classified as missed.
"Y/n? You there?" A voice asked from the other side of the line. Laurie.
"I'm here, hi Laurie." I greeted, raising my hand and rubbing my eyes, careful not to ruin the makeup I had applied earlier in the day.
"What took you so long to answer?" She asked, clearly a tad bit concerned for me. I smiled softly at her sweetness before shaking my head and resting my elbow against the counter, "I was taking a nap. Ha, the phone managed to wake me up just in the nick of time!" I summarized, sticking my tongue out of my mouth and biting down on it lightly.
Laurie let out a soft giggle before responding happily, "Okay, well i'm off of school now and i'm about to get a ride from Annie to the Doyle's house to babysit. So I figured i'd let you know so that by the time you get there i'll probably be there to let you in." She explained.
I nodded slowly, taking in her information before furrowing my brows in confusion.
"What time is it?" I questioned, glancing around the kitchen.
"Like- six in the afternoon?" She summed up with a small laugh, waiting for my answer.
I blinked quickly, "Shoot! I practically slept through the whole day!" I exclaimed and face palmed, feeling ashamed and embarrassed by my ability to sleep for so long and so often.
Laurie burst into a fit of laughter, "You're hilarious!-" she blurted but paused a moment later, I could hear a faint 'oh!' From the other line before Laurie began to speak again.
"Looks like Annie's outside! Gotta go! I'll see you soon!" She informed with joy, causing me to smile again.
"Alrighty! See you soon..." I murmured, looking down at the ground and pursing my lips together.
Eventually, we both hung up the phones, leaving the kitchen in a deathly silence.
"Tonight..." I nodded to myself, attempting to assure myself everything would turn out alright.
And with that, I hurried to the bathroom at the top of the stairs and touched up my makeup and my hair before examining my outfit once again.

I put my black flats back on and dusted off the tights that accompanied them, finally I smoothed down my dress and made my way to my room to retrieve my mask.
I picked it up and placed it on top of my head, the straps keeping it stable.
With a tired sigh I picked up the knife that I had left in my room and picked up my small purse that I had snatched from Mrs. Olif's room before shoving the knife inside the conceal it. Finally, I returned downstairs to grab the paper with the Doyle's address on it.
The murder scene.
I inhaled sharply and breathed out slowly, now wandering to the front door to leave.
I pulled it open and slipped outside, shivering when the cold outdoor breeze wafted past me, causing goosebumps to spread up my arms for a moment.
I shook my head quickly and hurried down the patio steps to begin my walk to Laurie's babysitting house.
I stared at the sidewalk as I moved, taking in each and every individual crack in the cement.
I sighed and raised my head to stare up at the sky for a moment, smiling hesitantly when I saw the sun beginning to set.
Halloween night.
I huffed nervously and looked around at the many houses I walked past, even stopping for a moment to admire the Myers house that I now stood across the street from.
My heart thumped in my chest and I could feel my cheeks heating up slowly.
I glanced to the side, my lips parting for a moment when I saw that man from earlier today, boiler suit and mask, standing a good distance away from me, staring at the Myers house just like I had been.
His mask sent another set of shivers down my spine, but I couldn't bring myself to tear my gaze away from him. Not even when he slowly turned his head to stare back at me.
My heart skipped a beat, giving me a small hint of anxiety.
I took a few steps back and spun around to continue my walk to Laurie's.
I looked over my shoulder a moment later, expecting to see the stalker watching me, or following me. But to my surprise, he had vanished just as fast as he had appeared.
"Mm..." I whimpered nervously, lifting my hand to rub my arm anxiously.
What a creep.
I shook my head and began to speed walk, hoping to find more people walking the streets so that I could feel a bit safer.
I began thinking.
How silly was it that I was scared of someone watching me, when I was quite literally about to end someones life?

I scoffed at my antics and shook my anxiety off of my shoulder to continue my stroll down the street, now focused on arriving at my destination.
___
After a long walk, the sun had set, and families were wandering the streets, moving f rom house to house in search of as much candy as they could find.
I watced the joyous families in silence, half of me wishing I could be just like them.
Holding the hand of my child and walking them down the street in costumes, taking them to the neighbors to be gifted sweet treats. We could walk with Michael, he'd obviously be my child's father. There was no way in hell it would be anyone else.
I smiled sadly at the thought.
A peaceful life with Michael.
A peaceful life as a family. With friends!
I cleared my throat quickly and cleared my head, finally arriving at the Doyle's house.
I made my way up the steps and to the front door and knocked, I slipped my mask over my face and smiled, waiting excitedly for Laurie to answer the door.
When she finally did, I pounced forward and grabbed her by her shoulders, "Boo!" I exclaimed, jokingly trying to frighten the teenager.
Laurie had only gasped slightly and grabbed my arms in response, "Hi, Y/n." She stated with a giggle, playfully pulling me inside.
I released her and took a step back, pulling my mask back to reveal my face, "Hi," I smiled, allowing Laurie to look me up and down before speaking again.
"You look so pretty!" She complimented, clapping her hands together and bouncing on her heels.
I nodded in thanks, opening my mouth to respond, but I was cut off when a young boy wandered into the entry way of the house and stopped beside Laurie, a questioning look on his face. "Laurie? What's going on?" He asked shyly, glancing in my direction and blushing.
Laurie smiled and pat his head, "My friend Y/n is here to spend time with us! Sound good to you mister?" She asked him, not that he had much say in the matter.
The young boy nodded slowly before grabbing at Laurie's arm and pulling her away for a moment, "She's really pretty..." He whispered quietly, peering over his shoulder to look at me for a moment.
I grinned, enjoying the compliments being thrown in my direction.
"I know. Why don't you go tell her that yourself Tommy?" Laurie suggested, patting him on the back.
They whispered back and forth for a few more seconds before making their way towards me once more.
I clasped my hands together and loosely swayed my hips to the side, keeping my body moving a bit.
"Hey um... Miss?" Tommy asked, hesitantly inching towards me.
I nodded and kneeled down to his level, a pleasant smile plastered across my face whilst I waited for Tommy to continue talking. "Yes my love?" I asked softly, causing to boys face to burn brighter than it already was. This made me giggle, but I forced myself to be quiet as to not embarrass the boy further.
Laurie tilted her head as she watched from the side lines, she intertwined her fingers together, "Go on Tommy." She said softly.
A moment later Tommy forced himself to speak, "I think you have a very well made face!" He blurted in a panic and swiftly turned around to run off.
I cupped a hand over my mouth and snorted, I looked at Laurie as I rose to my feet, she began laughing with me.
"I swear-" Laurie began and ran her fingers through her hair, shaking her head happily. "He's funny." I stated, placing my hands on my hips and leaning against the wall.
"So what are we doing tonight?" I asked, curious to here about what fun activities we had planned for the night. After all I didn't want to kill Laurie immediately. I wanted her to at least be happy when she died.
It's the least I could do.
"Oh! Yeah, Tommy and I are going to carve a pumpkin, eat popcorn and watch a movie, halloween stuff!" Laurie explained, "He already went trick or treating with his parents before they left, so now we just have to hang out." She finished.
I nodded, biting the inside of my cheek and patting my dress with the palms of my hands. "Sounds fun! What movie?" I asked, leaving Laurie to think for a moment.
"Whatever is on TV at the moment." She answered calmly and made her way to the kitchen, gesturing for me to follow behind her.
Soon enough, after getting our fun night started with Tommy, Annie had brought Lindsey Wallace, the girl she was to babysit over to spend time with the three of us whilst she left to- do things with her boyfriend.
During this process, a shape had began roaming outside in the dark.
Unbeknownst to us, he was going to begin slaughtering Laurie's friends whilst we bonded.
