Sam was driving to Jason's house. He rang the doorbell twice. Jason opened it and became stunned when he saw Sam. "What are you doing," he asked. "Look, I came to do a favor for you."

"What kind of favor is it," Jason asked. Sam sighed and said, "Look, I have a surprise for Taylor and you're in it." Jason, not believing this, asked, "Is this a joke?" Sam answered, "Nope. No jokes. Hey, do you want to see Taylor or not?"

Jason said, "I do. Really, I do." He sighed with a smile and continued, "I couldn't wait to see her. She's so smart, funny, and ..."

"And what," Sam asked.

"She's also very pretty."

"You sure like my sister, do you?"

"Yeah, what do you think I was saying those things about her for?"

"I'll explain to you later. Right now, we have to go. We don't want to be late for the dance."

"Right."

Jason ran back inside the house and return with two things in his hands. In one hand, he was holding a red rose. In the other hand, he held a white corsage. "Let's go," Jason said. He and Sam got in the car and drove off.

While Sam was driving, he said, "Hey, I am sorry for the way I was treating you and for separating Taylor from you."

"Your apology is accepted, but why did you do it in the first place?"

Sam sighed, saying, "I thought you would try to cheat on her." Jason said, "Oh." The two boys remain silent until the ride was over.
