I found Ms. Stanley in a wheelchair. "Hi, Ms. Stanley." She said nothing. "It's me, Gemini." She didn't even wave.

I pulled out a chair, and sat down. She stared at me. Suddenly, her mouth opened. The sound came out like a bad note on the piano. Then, her stomach rumbles.

I made soup for her. Ms. Stanley doesn't lift a hand. "Here, let me help." I fill the spoon with soup. She opened her mouth.

"Here you go."

After she finished the soup, I read a book to her. As I was finishing, she grew tired. I pushed her wheelchair to her room. I helped her climb into her bed. I told her, "Here's a walkie-talkie. If you need anything, let out a shout. Even a... uh... that sound you made before."

When I was leaving, she fell asleep. I kept the other walkie-talkie for myself.
