《This Gift I Was Given (The Boys That Lives In My House)》Chapter 39

We walk across the lawn to Felix house and both look at each other before we ring the doorbell and wait.
Tom opens the door and instantly just looks at aunt Lora "I'm glad you could make it"
"Thank you for inviting us" aunt Lora tells him as we walk in the house
"I hope you two are hungry" he says finally making eye contact with me before quickly looking back at Lora
"Starving" aunt Lora laughs and they walk into the kitchen
I go upstairs to the bathroom wanting to wash my hands before dinner. I still haven't seen or heard Felix. I honestly don't even know if he's home.
As I wash my hands, I look over at the closed bathroom door and see someone shadow under the door and someone's shoes, Felix is probably waiting for me to come out.
I can't help but playfully roll my eyes. I Open the bathroom door but don't see anyone.
I walk to the end of the hall and see Felix door is open, I cautiously walk in, never been in here before just seen it through the window.
It's honestly a mess definitely a boys room. I walk over to his desk that I always see him at and see a lot of drawing on his desk. I didn't know he could draw. I look and also see a picture of Felix when he was probably around ten with a woman and some guy, they have there arms around him in a embrace and they are all smiling happily. He looks really happy, it makes me think of when I was that happy.
"You looking through my stuff?" I hear Felix voice which makes me jump, not expecting him. At least his tone is playful and not mad surprisingly

I turn around and look at him not really knowing what to say "sorry I was just looking for you"
He raises an eyebrow and has an amused expression on his face "can't get enough huh?"
"Your so hard to resist" I say in a fake tone and laugh
He laughs a little then looks over at the photo I was looking at when he came in "that's my parents" he points at the picture
I look at him and then over at the picture in confusing. "That's my mom and technically my step dad even though I always considered him more of a dad then my biological" he clarifies and I watch the intense look on his face as he looks at the photo like he's remember all these horrible memories
"It's a nice picture" I say not knowing what exactly to say not wanting to upset him or make him mad since he's never really open up to me before
"Yeah they uh died in a car accident last year" he says with a clenched jaw so tight that in surprised he doesn't break a tooth
"I'm sorry. My parents they died in a car accident too" I say getting a little chocked up thinking about them
He looks at me with almost a vulnerable look that takes me by surprise "I'm sorry"
"Have you and tom never been close?" I can't help but ask
He laughs and humorless laugh "he left my mom when I was 4 and maybe saw him once a year when he came into town to work or something, sometimes he would remember to call me on my birthday. I honestly didn't care to be close with him since I had a real dad Jason my step dad, but after the car crash I didn't really have a choice I had to come and live with him here"

I stare at him In awe since this is the most he's ever talked before at least to me "I thought you've lived here your whole life?"
"This town yes, but I couldn't stand to live at my house anymore so tom bought this house still in town" he finishes
"Yeah I've never liked him" I tell him honestly and he looks at me and smirks but his eyes still stay sad
"Your a good judge of character" he jokes
"Will you not tell anyone about last night please" I tell him knowing my face is fully red wth embarrassment
He studies my face for a minute and then nods "I promise"

"And what would those be?" I asked breathlessly. His lips brushed against my ear and I drew in a breath. I could feel him smiling.
