《This Gift I Was Given (The Boys That Lives In My House)》Chapter 46

I'm not a huge fan of the weekends, mostly because I hate the quiet. I have no one to talk to since aunt Lora works most weekends. I'm not desperate enough to ask Felix if he wants to hang out not wanting to get rejected. I mean there is Larry the ghost but he's not much of a talker. I did text Samara but she's busy doing something with her sister.

I sit in the corner table at the coffee shop and sip my latte, I usually just people watch or read, just like being around people and where there's a bunch of noise so I can't hear my thoughts.

I see that guy Jared on the other side of the coffee shop typing on his computer, he's lost in his little world totally oblivious to everything that's going on. He seems like a nice guy but also different, but I have no room to judge.

I grab my latte and walk over to the other side of the coffee shop and stand in front of him. I clear my throat to get his attention, he looks up at me and I can tell he's a little surprised to see me. "Hi" I say awkwardly

"We meet again" he laughs awkwardly

"Sorry I didn't mean to bother you " I say quickly not knowing if he's working

He shakes his head "no no. Would you like to sit" he gestures to the seat in front of him

Usually I would say no but I'm curious about him. I sit down in front of him, but now I don't know what to say.

We both stare at each other waiting for the other person to say something like anything. "How's the uh research going?"is the first thing that pops in my head even though I don't even know what kind of research he does

He laughs awkwardly and its like he's trying to think of what to say "good but no where close to finishing"

"What's it about? If you don't mind me asking?" I ask really wanting to know

" I do research for people and find information just stuff like that" he shrugs

"Interesting" I nod "so have you lived here long?"

"Ive lived here for awhile but I don't usually stay in one place to long" he tells me

"Yeah I've been moving around a lot too" I say

"For your aunts work?" He asks

"Kind of yeah" I say since it is kinda true

He smiles "you liking it here yet?"

"A little more" I laugh "it's hard moving to a new place and trying to get comfortable" I say actually being honest with him for some reason

He nods like he understands what I mean "it's hard when you move to these small town where they already have there routines and their own ways"

"But there is some nice people I do have to admit"

"Like that guy you were with that one time here?" He lifts up an eyebrow and has a smirk playing on his lips like he thinks it's adorable

"He's my neighbor"I playfully roll my eyes "but he can be nice I guess" not sure nice is really the word I would describe Felix

He laughs "well that's good"

"Yeah" I laugh "so do you travel by yourself?" I ask trying to find out some more information about him

He sighs sadly "yeah it's just me but I'm not really the settling down type" he shrugs

"That's cool though to get to travel" I say trying to be positive

"Yeah it's definitely interesting" he laughs like he just thought of something "but if you love traveling and want to do something like that after high school or college I can help you out I mean it doesn't pay great but it amazing to meet people from around the world and travel to different places" he says in a way that makes it sound amazing and intriguing

"Really?" I say a little surprised that he would be so willing to help me even though he doesn't know me at all

"Yeah it's no problem" he smiles and takes a sip of his drink
