《This Gift I Was Given (The Boys That Lives In My House)》Chapter 52

I look out the window and notice we are at my house and it's not raining anymore.
"Thanks for the ride" I tell him as I unbuckle
"Yeah no problem" he smiles "if you need anything let me know" he tells me as I get out
"Thanks" I give him a smile
I watch Jared drive away, I was about to go walk inside until I see Felix getting out of his car and he walks over towards me.
"Hey what's up?" I say to him
"Nothing just got done from my appointment with dr. Jones" he shrugs "who was that?" He asks me with a raised eyebrow
"O that was Jared" I tell him like its no big deal
He looks at me like he has no idea who I'm talking about "who?"
"You know that guy that always at the coffee shop"
"So you let him drive you home" he says trying to understand
"Well I needed a ride and he's nice" I try saying and try not to sound like an idiot
"He could be a murder or something for all we know. Jess just because someone seems nice doesn't mean you ride in the car with them especially by yourself" he sighs like I'm his child and he doesn't know what to do with me "you could of called me. You know I would of came and got you" he looks at me like he really wants me to know that
I open my mouth and then close it. I want to tell him it's not his problem what I do but I can tell he was just worried about me. "I'm sorry I didn't think about it"
He gives me a small smile and nods. He scratches the back of his neck and I notice his face is a little red "I got to go" he says all of a sudden and leaves and goes into his house leaving me in my front yard

Ever since that day when Jared dropped me off and Felix got upset it's almost like Felix is avoiding me or something. I mean he still takes me to school and stuff but it's like all this process we've made is gone and we are kind of back to the first day we met. He's nicer but he's distant now, lost in his own little world.
"Samara?" I say her name to get her attention as I wait by her locker
"Yep?" She looks at me
I try to think of how to word this "have you notice Felix been acting a little strange lately?" I ask
She looks like she trying to think "well i don't think so I mean he's always grumpy"
"Yeah I know that but I just feel like he's been a little distant" I shrug
"That's just felix" she sighs sadly
"Yeah" I say but I don't think that's it
We go to our lunch table where Cole and Felix are already sitting at. "Hello everyone" Samara greets them as we sit down
"Hey" Cole greets us back but Felix doesn't even make eye contact with either one of us
I look at Felix and he doesn't look well, he looks so skinny and looks like he hasn't slept in weeks. Like he's deteriorating.
"You not going to eat?" I ask him since he hasn't touched his food
"Not hungry" he says with a blank expression
"You need to eat something" Samara says to him probably noticing how skinny he's getting too
He glares at her "I'm not a child alright" he gets up from the table and storms out of the cafeteria
