!!TW!! Possession !!TW!!
Ranboo, Tubbo, and Tommy were all sitting on Tubbo's couch. They had just gotten back from filming Ranboo's vlog and Tubbo had invited Tommy to stay over for a little while. The trio was making fun of each other, eating snacks, and playing some games. Their troubles were forgotten for a while.
"What time is it again?" Ranboo asked.
Tubbo looked at his phone, "Umm, uh, 9:00... Ranboo."
Ranboo and Tubbo looked at each other with worried expressions.
"What are you two making faces for?" Tommy yawned.
"Tubbo..." Ranboo stared at Tubbo.
Tommy looked at the two confused, "What are you two doing?"
Tubbo looked back over at Tommy, a worried expression on his face.
"Tommy, I think it's time you get home." Tubbo said with a shy smile, "I really think it's time you get home, big man."
"Wha- You s****ing me?" Tommy frowned."Why? I still have an hour till I need to get going."
"I really think you should go." Tubbo said, and then looked at Ranboo. "Yunno, just in case."
Lani burst into the room all a sudden, flashlights and whistles in hand.
"Positions! Ranboo on the front, Tubbo on back, and I'm middle! I've already seen a-" Lani stopped when she realized Tommy was in the room.
"What the h*ll." Tommy said with a surprised and worried expression now on his face. "What's going on here?!"
Ranboo and Tubbo looked at each other with defeated eyes. Lani sighed and closed the door behind her.
Ranboo looked back at Tommy, "Listen Tommy, we're ghost hunters."
There was a long silence then, and then Tommy looked at Tubbo and Ranboo in confusion.
"Ghost Hunters?" Tommy laughed, a bit of worry still on his face.
Tubbo sighed and shook his head, "Ranboo, buddy, you can't explain a serious situation like that."
Ranboo nodded and let out a smothered laugh, "True... Tommy, with a bit more context, Tubbo's house is haunted and we have to fight ghosts off sometimes. Like in all seriousness, we need to get ready."
Tommy's smile wilted a little as Ranboo stood up and grabbed his items from Lani.
"Wait really? You're being serious?" Tommy questioned further, Tubbo grabbing his items from Lani too.
Tubbo nodded, "Now if you'd help us with lockin-"
Tubbo stopped abruptly mid-sentence, dropping his flashlight.
"Oh f***." Tubbo said, looking at Ranboo with panic.
"You're kidding, right now?" Ranboo asked quickly.
Lani looked at Tubbo and then at Tommy, "We really need to get started, how long do you think it'll last?"
"I don't know! I can feel when it wants to do it, I don't have that long before it-" Tubbo stopped talking, and closed his eyes.
Ranboo turned to Tommy who was watching the three in confusion.
"Tommy, don't freak out. Please." Ranboo said, knowing how he and Lani had reacted before.

Please Tommy, we can't have baggage with an active ghost around. Especially a person in shock, too easy of prey, and we couldn't even barely protect ourselves last time.
"What do you mean, 'don't freak out'?" Tommy asked, his voice now filled with urgency.
Tubbo turned to face Tommy suddenly, "Oh? We have a friend with us now?"
Tommy stared at Tubbo in surprise, he clearly didn't know what was happening yet.
"Do I have to explain to him too?" Hexis asked through Tubbo.
"I think it's better I tell him." Ranboo shook his head.
Tubbo turned to Ranboo, "You know well that you can't afford baggage, Ranboo."
"I am aware, and please don't address me like that, it's creepy." Ranboo said.
Tommy just looked at the two confused.
Ranboo walked over to Tommy and sat down next to him on the couch. Lani left to go lock up since the situation was being dealt with. Then Tubbo, or really Hexis, locked up the doors and windows in the current room.
"Alright so, to put it simply, Tubbo is possessed by the tree demon I had formerly thought of as a joke... and that 'tree demon', now to be known as Hexis, is Tubbo right now." Ranboo explained.
Tommy's face had slowly become more horrified throughout their conversation. Tommy looked at Tubbo, who was sealing a nearby window. His eyes fogging a bit, he was clearly going into shock.
"Tommy!" Ranboo said, shaking him a little. "You have to focus, stay with us for tonight. You can be in shock after this is all over."
Tommy looked back at Ranboo, and nodded slowly, but didn't respond.
"Thank you, now let's go help the others." Ranboo said and stood up.
Tommy followed, helping Ranboo lock and close anything Lani or Tubbo had missed. Then the two headed to the kitchen to meet the others. Lani joining them, and Tubbo/Hexis shortly after.
"We're locked up, now I think we might need the salt tonight." Lani stated, Ranboo grabbing the salt from one of the cabinets.
"It's a good thing Tubbo got that salt for the cooking stream he had. This is probably the first night we won't need to actually fight them off." Ranboo said jokingly.
"Oh, right. You three want Tubbo back, I just came to check in really." Hexis asked.
Ranboo could see that Tommy was still quite uncomfortable when Hexis talked through Tubbo.
"I think that would be best." Ranboo nodded.
There's so much more tension without Tubbo, we are all too jumpy with Hexis around. Even though they're helpful I know everyone, including me, much prefers Tubbo. It feels wrong, why did all this have to happen to us... Tubbo doesn't deserve to be possessed.
"Okay, you might want to hold him up." Hexis nodded, Tubbo's eyes still closed.
Ranboo handed the salt to Lani and then went over to hold Tubbo up. Hexis opened Tubbo's eyes for a moment, they were pure black and glossy. Ranboo shivered, Tubbo going limp in his arms.

Dang, that's unsettling as heck.
Tubbo groaned a couple of seconds later.
"Ah, I think I was out there for a second again. What was I saying?" Tubbo asked, standing up straight and rubbing his head.
Ranboo smirked, "Something about it not being long until 'it' would happen."
"Ooooh..." Tubbo said with a worried smile.
Tubbo looked around, finding he was in the kitchen now. Tommy had a bewildered look on his face, and Lani was pouring salt on the ground.
"Oh wait." Tubbo realized Tommy was still here, "Wait, wait, wait... Tommy, aren't you supposed to be home soon?! Also, sorry about throwing you into this too."
Oh shoot, that's right, Tommy was supposed to be home 30 something minutes ago.
Lani looked up from her salt pouring, "That's right, why haven't we gotten a call yet?"
Tommy laughed nervously, "Well... I actually told my mother I might stay the night... Before I knew about- things, of course."
Tubbo groaned, Tommy's expression immediately fading into a guilty frown. It was clear he felt bad about not asking for Tubbo's consent before sending the text.
"Can't do much about it now, but if you do this again I'm going to skin you." Tubbo said with a half-annoyed smile.
Tommy gave a forced-worried laugh, and then Lani stood straight up again. Salt in hand and a completed circle on the ground.
"Finished. Everyone in the circle?" Lani asked, and Ranboo stepped fully into the circle.
"Yep!" Ranboo nodded, and everyone sat down on the wooden floor.
"We've got two hours till the haunting hours are over, so get comfortable." Lani smiled, "You're lucky that we had salt Tommy, you just have to sit there."
Tommy looked at her with an annoyed smirk.
"I bet I would be just fine without the salt force field!" Tommy pouted jokingly.
"Can I grab us some snacks?" Tubbo asked, as he looked over at the kitchen cabinets.
"Yeah, make sure to get everyone something. Oh, and take a whistle with you." Lani advised.
Tubbo grabbed a whistle from Lani and stood up. He stepped forwards and immediately fell back down. Everyone stared at him confused.
"You alright Tubbo?" Ranboo asked as Tubbo sat up.
"I just hit something really hard with my face." Tubbo moaned.
Then put his hand out and leaned forward. His hand hit some sort of wall half way. Tubbo stared at the empty space he was somehow touching. Then he curled his hand into a fist and punched the clear wall as hard as he could. Everyone else in the circle staring confused at Tubbo's discovery.
"There's some sort of wall here." Tubbo explained.
Ranboo shuffled over to Tubbo, putting his hand through the wall that Tubbo was unable to pass.
"The f***?" Tubbo said in surprise.
Then tried to put his hand through where Ranboo had. Hitting the wall again, and wincing in pain. Ranboo stood up,and stepped outside the circle. Then grabbed Tubbo's arm.
"What are you doing!?" Tubbo questioned in alarm.
Ranboo then tried to pull Tubbo outside the circle, but Tubbo only smacked against an invisible wall. Ranboo then stepped back into the circle.
"What?" Ranboo muttered to himself.
How is that possible? Wait... I it because he is possessed? Like the ghost can't leave the circle, so he can't either?
Tubbo groaned in pain again, and then looked over at Ranboo with a death glare.
"What the f*** dude. Why the h*ll did you do that?" Tubbo frowned.
"I think I figured it out." Ranboo explained, Tubbo's death glare softened a bit. "It's probably because you're possessed."
"Oh! That's right, the circle traps spirits inside or, as we were doing, locks them out." Lani chimed in.
Tommy just sat there, still getting used to all of this new ghost hunting stuff. Ranboo could tell he was more comfortable now that Tubbo was normal again.
Tubbo sighed, "I guess that means someone else has to get the snacks then..."
"Yep, I'll do that." Ranboo smiled and quickly hopped outside the circle.
"HEY!" Tubbo roared, "You can't stay outside forever! I'm still going to murder you for smacking me against an invisible ghost wall!"
=After Haunting Hours=
Lani put her foot through the circle, breaking it. Then rushed off to get the broom. Tubbo, who had been unable to go to the restroom, or leave the circle, quickly bolted out of the circle and to the restroom. Screaming in pure joy and relief at the same time. Ranboo and Tommy both laughed until Tubbo came back, and Ranboo had to run for his life. Tommy just watched and laughed at the duo's quarrel. After a while, they three all headed off to bed. Tommy was forced to sleep on the couch of course.
=Morning(This doesn't mean that they are waking up at 9 a.m. or anything, it just means when they all wake up)=
"Hey! Before you leave Toms." Tubbo called to Tommy as the trio headed to the door. "You can't tell anyone about this okay. I don't want anyone to worry. We'll fix the ghost problem, and we can take care of ourselves! Alright?"
"Tubbo, you know far too well I trust you, just don't get hurt okay!" Tommy smiled.
Tubbo nodded, "Promise."
Ranboo and Tubbo waved goodbye to Tommy as he left. Then Ranboo turned to Tubbo when they were out of sight.
"You just reminded me, we need to figure out how to get rid of the ghosts. We should talk to Hexis about making a plan." Ranboo explained.
"I agree, also, you mean you're going to talk to Hexis about making a plan. I can't communicate with it, remember, I just get shoved into the void." Tubbo corrected.
Ranboo rolled his eyes, "Right, yeah."
"What should our plan be called?" Tubbo asked, Ranboo's face immediately lighting up.
"Boo." Ranboo smirked.
Tubbo looked at him unamused, "Sure, why not."

The Eternal Vigil
The year is 2220, a time when governments and nation-states are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Instead, all prominent parts of human society are now organizing around the commands of three great Artificial Intelligences, owned and operated by the world's largest corporation. World peace has been achieved, and the very word 'politics' has disappeared from people's lips. Religion has largely disappeared, replaced in some parts by worshipping of the great AIs, but mostly substituted by a devotion to material goods and faith in the market. There is now a general consensus that the best form of government has been found. No, it is not democracy, nor is it autocracy or oligarchy. Instead, it is technocracy - rule by the learned, the intelligent, and the skilled. And who are more learned, intelligent, and skilled than the great AIs? Exactly, no one. The AIs will correct some market failures once in a while, but shall otherwise let the market be free. After all, the freer the market, the freer the people. Some may question how society advanced to this stage, but that is all they will do - question. Because they will not find answers, for history is no longer taught anywhere. After all, it is not a practical subject. One cannot get a decently paying job with a history degree. Society doesn't have any time for people to idly ponder about the past. No, this is a practical society of practical people: engineers, doctors, lawyers, developers, managers, bankers, soldiers, and the such. My name is Aiden Scivit and I used to be one such practical man: minding my own business, doing my job, with the faith that hard work will always be rewarded by the market...and that politics and philosophy were things thought of by idly people who leech off society. But this all changed, and here is my story, my history. Just because the stories of ages long past have been erased, does not mean that a brand new beginning cannot be created. The story is already finished but I still need to do some editing so a chapter should be released each day for a month. It is a bit political, as you can probably tell by the introduction, so there is that (it will low-key read like a philosophy dump 10% of the time, so really it's like Atlas Shrugged but liberal and worse lol). Also, I actually wrote this in grade 10 as part of my MYP Personal Project, and recently touched up on it for online publication. Finally, if you find the writing style passable and are interested in my other works, check out the one in the link below. It is a fantasy set in the Ancient Greek world, and is completed and uploaded in full: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/35099/the-oresteia-modernized
