-Author's note: YES, I'm writing when I have time, the amount of paper I have to write upon is just killing me. Sorry for the wait..
Ranboo got up from the couch, it was about that time again. Ranboo headed to the kitchen, Lani and Tubbo were already there.
"We don't have any more salt, we are going to have to fight again. Until I can go buy some more salt." Lani explained.
That reminds me, I need to talk to Hexis about the plan.
Tubbo turned around to face the two, a bag of chips in hand.
"Same routine again? Windows, doors, and then defense?" Tubbo asked as he popped a couple of chips in his mouth.
"Yep." Lain sighed.
"Tubbo?" Ranboo said, Tubbo turning his attention on Ranboo.
"Hmm?" Tubbo raised an eyebrow with a mouth full of chips.
"You think we should talk to Hexis about how to execute our plan?: Ranboo asked.
Tubbo nodded, setting down the chips and swallowing.
"Yeah, the thing is I have no idea how to-" Tubbo stopped mid-sentence and closed his eyes.
Ranboo and Lani were both a little startled by the abrupt stop.
"What is it you need?" Hexis asked suddenly through Tubbo.
"Oh!" Ranboo realized in surprise. "Hexis, oh uh, it's that easy?"
"You called my name, I mean, Tubbo started to think about my name a lot." Hexis explained, "Anyways, what is it that you needed?"
"Right, back on track, we needed to know if there was a way to stop all this. Yunno, like, not have to fight for our lives every night?" Ranboo questioned, Hexis moving Tubbo's body into a thinking position.
"There is, but it'll take me some time to complete it." Hexis said, a wave of relief passed over Ranboo.

"Okay, do we need to do anything?" Ranboo asked.
Hexis nodded, "You shouldn't if nothing goes wrong, but that's rare among rituals like the one you're wanting me to initiate."
"So, it never goes as planned?" Ranboo quizzed.
"Well, usually, if you're trying to seal a gate, the spirits that use it will fight back." Hexis elucidated.
"Okay, so that's what you want us to help you with? Fighting off the Spirits?" Lani asked.
"A human cannot defeat a Spirit, especially demons or phantoms... If you didn't know, that's what kinds of ghosts are crossing over." Hexis concluded.
Ranboo and Lani went silent for a moment, taking in the new information.
"What is it then you want us to do?" Lani asked with confusion.
Hexis opened one of Tubbo's eyes revealing the pure black eye underneath.
"Alright, get comfortable, because I'm about to explain some important information." Hexis said, Ranboo and Lani sat down at the kitchen table. "Okay, now that you both are settled, I have a trigger. When a specific word is said I will automatically take control and attack anything in sight. All ghosts have a trigger word, but most don't know theirs until it's too late and they've done damage. When this 'fight' happens, after they figure out I'm sealing it, then I'll need you to say my trigger word while Tubbo is in control so I don't, Uhm, kill him."
Ranboo and Lani looked at each other with worried stares.
"If I'm in control when you say it, I could accidentally rip his soul from his body." Hexis explained, "Back to the plan; after you do that then I should attack whatever I was looking at and scare it. Of course, as you should know, it'll probably head back to the gate. Before it gets to the gate, which is in this house's backyard, I'll need one of you to open the doors so it can leave. As soon as it's gone I'll need the other person to snap me out of the trance so that I don't hurt anybody else. To do that you'll need a bell, and you both know what a bell is and how to use it, right?"

Ranboo rolled his eyes, "Yes, we know what a bell does."
"Great, ring a bell and I should snap out of trance. Remember, one at the door, one with the bell. This is a three-person plan." Hexis finished, "Tell Tubbo after I swap."
Ranboo nodded and quickly stood up to hold Tubbo while they 'swapped.
I don't like this, but it's not really my choice at this point. Hexis would probably leave if we asked anyways. It seems nice, it has already helped us quite a lot. As I said, I don't really think we have a choice not to have Hexis around anyways.
Tubbo groaned, "That sucks each and every time it does that."
"We've made a plan, Hexis is going to need to help us with this one though. So you'll be out for most of it." Lani explained and proceeded to tell Tubbo the plan.
"So we need a bell?" Tubbo quizzed and Lani nodded. "Alright, let's get hunting!"
