BLACK LIVES MATTER

to my lovely readers (new and old), i am writing this message because something happened in a place really close to where i live. a Black man died. he was found hanging in a park. i am going to say his fucking name. he will not be forgotten. rest in power, AMANI KILDEA.

when i woke up the other morning, i was extremely upset by the news. whether it was an act of violence, or a suicide it points to a larger problem happening in the world. i know for a fact that your feeds have slowly become more normal. there are more beach + bikini posts, than resources and news about Black lives matter. but, Black people are STILL dying. police are still at large, using violence when it is not necessary. politicians arent using their voices and power the way they should.

we need to continue to fight. continue to hold people accountable. and maybe youre tired of seeing and hearing about Black lives matter. but we can not stop until changes are made.

we need to continue to fight, to learn, and to change.

so, i am telling you, dont stop. keep pushing, and demanding justice. repost resources. have conversations about racism within your circle. recognize and reflect on your privilege. use your voice, use your platform.

racism plagues our world. cure it with anti-racism.

i have no other words, but i am tired of seeing people returning to normal, as if the Black lives matter movement was just a phase. IT IS NOT A PHASE. Black lives have experienced racism, violence and prejudice since 1619. THATS FOUR HUNDRED YEARS. the fight for equality and justice has prevailed for FOUR HUNDRED YEARS. so, no, its not a phase. its going to take more than a couple weeks to institute change. keep demanding justice.

do your part. and dont give up. we cant afford to give up. we need change.
