《Gun To My Head, Stake To My Heart》18

The blinding sun rays woke me up. I squinted to see the bright morning sky. I hissed and pulled the covers over my face. The only reason I lowered them was because I heard soft chuckles. I turned to see Lara gazing at me.
"You're acting like a vampire with the sun." She teased.
"How come you refuse to erupt into flames and then fall into a pile of ash?" I snarked. My eyes widened at what I just said. I didn't mean to be so harsh. Sure I wasn't a morning person, but I didn't need to be such a bitch about it. I opened my mouth to apologize, but Lara fell onto her back with laughter.
"Oh, love. Your wolf packs an intense bite, doesn't she?" She kept laughing even louder. "I thought dealing with your sarcasm was enough, but that coupled with the utter savagery from your wolf is astounding!" She shook with laughter. "Ahhh, I sure have my hands full with you." She had a big smile on her face.
"Is my wolf always that temperamental?"
I jumped from the Italian accent in my head.
"Wolfy having anger issues?" Lara teased. She noticed my panicked face, so she spoke again. "Your wolf will communicate with you through your consciousness. It's a normal thing. Ask her what she wants?" She prodded me.
"Umm... she's horny."
"As you both should be in my presence." She moved, allowing the covers to reveal her naked torso.
My wolf growled in delight. I had to fight for control so that her animalistic urges wouldn't cause me to jump the sexy woman in the bed. Lara clearly was amused by my inner struggle. She was totally doing this on purpose!
"Stop it!" I yanked the covers over her, resulting in an eruption of laughter.
"Stop it! And control your hormones!"
"I mean you have a point there, but calm down. Sheesh!" I huffed. "Now I'm regretting allowing Lara to release you. You are incredibly annoying."
"Ask her name?" I turned to Lara. "All wolves have their own name. Ask hers."
"Umm... what's-"
"Rude." I grumbled. "And her name is Chiara." I turned to Lara.
"Huh, Chiara." My wolf whined in delight as our mate tried the name out on her lips. "Chai, would you be a dear and help Mila out. She's struggling with the additional voice and emotions. Please, guide her."
I could practically see my wolf wagging her tail in compliance. Unbelievable!
"How'd you know-"
"She's obsessed with me like I am with you." She kissed me. "Meaning that she's more inclined to do whatever please me, as I would with you. Now..." She stood up, causing the covers to drop. I felt the urge to take her after seeing her stunning body, so I did just that.

I twirled her around and pushed her on the bed before straddling her. Her lips fell in sync with mine. She pulled my hair, causing me to moan into her mouth. I felt her hand slip between my thighs and massage my heat. I felt the sudden need to sink my teeth into her and mark her. I didn't know why I was feeling that way, so I reluctantly pulled back. She looked at me momentarily confused before her features morphed into understanding.
"You wanted to bite me, no?" I sheepishly nodded. "Don't be embarrassed. I feel the same way." I looked into her eyes. "It's the mate thing. We both want to mark each other and seal our bond. As much as I want to claim you, I think we should wait until you have more control and understanding of your newfound abilities. I want you to fully understand the symbolism of the bite. Wouldn't want you rushing into anything." She kissed my shoulder.
"What does it symbolize?" I grinded against her, causing her to groan.
"It's like marriage, but more intimate than a consensual paper contract. It's claiming that I'll never love or want to touch anyone else, but you. That you are my world and I would rather die than walk this world without you by my side." She said each and every word with so much love. It was like she was telling me her wedding vow.
"I feel the same way! Why can't we mark each other now?!" I whined and grinded harder into her.
"Because you're thinking through horny filled glasses." She picked me up and placed me on the bed. "I need you to have a clear head and think about it. I don't want you to regret anything."
"Ugh! Fine." I huffed. "But, I still want you." I pushed her down and straddled her again.
"I'm yours. Always and forever." She sealed her statement with a kiss.

The last two weeks have been informative and tiring. Matt was now aware of my knowledge about my heritage. I had a few questions for him and he answered every single one.
He was the head of my guards. The one in charge or the leader. Some of the people in the werewolf government had caught wind of rebel vampires being armed with weapons from Cobalt Enterprise. Now, the rebels were against the current king, but they were still a danger to werewolves since they were natural enemies. You couldn't be too careful with people ready to commit suicide to usurp a government.
Because of the transactions between the company and rebels, the government wanted Cobalt Enterprise to be investigated. But, they had a catch. They didn't want just anyone investigating the company. They wanted me because I was the so called best. Matt tried to negotiate and have another agent, but they were set on me because I was number one. He couldn't tell them the reason he didn't want to send me was because I was the rightful heir to the throne. Apparently, they had to say my pregnant mom died in the siege in order to keep us safe from the vampire king. Matt reluctantly had to send me into a vampire's den.

The government knew vampires owned the company, that's why they were curious which powerful vampires were supporting the resistance. What the government didn't know was that it was ran by the SangPures. Matt decided to leave that detail out since it could make the case messy. He sent Jade undercover as a chemist to keep an eye on me when I was at the company and Zayn would watch me when I was at the station.
So that was the whole point of my mission. I did have to disappoint him by telling him I hadn't seen any sus people around. Everyone who came to meetings was legit. I did make a mental note to ask Lara about it later.
Now, my wolf training. Yay. Note the sarcasm please. Matt, Jade, and Zayn thought it was important I know how to defend myself since my scent is very alluring. Apparently, hybrid children have delicious smelling blood. And since my werewolf scent wasn't masked anymore, I was more susceptible to vampire attacks. I didn't know the point of this since I was a great martial artist, but they wanted me to fight with my wolf, not my human side. That was a bit more difficult since I didn't know how to activate that side of me.
I especially didn't want to activate it after watching Jade's bones break and reform into a 6 foot wolf. I nearly passed out as I saw the bones pushing against her skin. I mean she looked lovely as a light brown wolf, but I decided it wasn't my thing.
I tried complaining to Lara, but she agreed with my friends. She believed that I should learn proper fighting techniques as a wolf. I told her I didn't want to, so she offered to give me belly rubs when I was in my wolf form. I glared at her and told her I was not a dog! Well, that's debatable, but still. I admitted I was scared, so she offered to help me. So, that's why we're in the middle of the woods at 3am.
"Do you even know what to do?" I asked.
"Nope." She answered. "All my info comes from Teen Wolf." She teased.
"Ugh!"
"I admit that it is painful." My eyes found hers. "But I also heard it's the most freeing feeling in the world." She then smirked. "Think of it like sex." I rolled my eyes. "It hurts the first time, but is euphoric afterwards. That's kind of like this."
"It's like sex." I shook my head in disbelief. "That's your analogy?"
"Yep." She led me to a clearing in the woods. "I'll be right here to guide you."
I nodded and took a deep breath. I looked up at the star studded sky and wondered what it would be like to be so free. I then saw the full moon and that's when everything changed. I felt compelled to be a wolf.
I yelped as I felt an aching in my back. Then gasped when my femur broke, causing me to fall to a kneeling position. My arm then broke, resulting in me face planting. I cried out in pain as everything hurt.
"Look at me." Lara commanded. I felt a pull to focus on her. "Do not fight it." I had tears in my eyes from the pain. "It's the most freeing feeling in the world. You've been trapped and now this is your time to be free." I felt the clothing on my back stretch until the seam ripped. "That's it." I opened my mouth and felt my fangs elongating. My vision also began to become sharper. The bones under my hands started to shift until my hand began to expand. "Let it consume you." I felt my ears stretching and saw my light blond arm hair get longer. "Let go." She finally commanded.
I arched my back and howled to the moon. I then stared back at her with sharpened vision. I memorized every minor detail. I felt myself heavily breathing as I took in her proud form. She slowly walked towards me and raised her hand. I stared at her and involuntarily growled.
She slowly placed her hands on the side of my face and leaned her forehead against mine. With eyes closed, she muttered something so low that the human ear would miss it. But, I wasn't a mere human anymore. I was a wolf.
"Merci d'être entré dans ma vie et d'avoir apporté de la couleur à mon monde qui était autrefois sombre et gris. Merci d'être mon salut."
