《Gun To My Head, Stake To My Heart》35

The vampires didn't have time to react as we raced down the mountain. I saw Taemin subtly move behind the vampires and slip inside the castle. A low click of the lock was heard. The vampires tried to go inside in order to grab their weapons, but the doors were locked. They pounded on the door and attempted to open it, but it did not budge.
Wolves jumped on them and tore their heads off. They gave up trying to enter the castle and began engaging in a fight with us. I bit into one of the vampire's shoulders and tore him in half. I made rounds through my group and tore any vampires off my pack mates.
I saw some of the wolves morph into lycans when they were against a particularly strong vampire. I then saw the cellar door had it's chains unlocked, courtesy of Hailey. I signaled for two of my pack mates to follow me inside. We morphed into our lycan forms and crashed through the doors.
The vampire guards were startled. We used that opportunity to rip them to shreds. We slowly advanced through the corridor, weary of any danger. I then heard the muffle sounds of children. I signaled for the two wolves to free the slaves. They nodded and rushed off. I morphed back into my human skin and disrobed the fallen guards. I then pulled on the shirt and pants before continuing my journey.
The passageway was dimly lit by the torches aligning the walls. My senses were on high alert now. I walked past the cages I had been imprisoned in. I slowly advanced towards the prisoners and noticed that they were mostly werewolves. They backed away in fright from my appearance. I flashed them my wolf eyes, causing them to gasp.
I then ripped open the cell and motioned for them to leave. Well, they would've been able to leave if a vampire hadn't tackled me. I kicked her off and stood up. She rushed me, but I dodged her and then punched her abdomen. She momentarily stumbled before rushing towards me. She grabbed my neck and pushed me into a wall.
I felt her nails dig into my skin. I clawed at her grip in an attempt to get her to release me. The wide grin on her face told me she had no intention of freeing me.
"You're blood is sickly sweet." She purred. "How about a little taste?" Her fangs enlarged and she moved to bite me.
"How about no?" In a flash, Alec had ripped her heart out.
The woman gasped. Alec then pushed her off me. I fell to the floor, but he offered his hand to pull me up. I gratefully took it and followed him out the room.
"And here I thought you didn't like me." I teased.
"Do you understand the amount of heat I'd get from my sister if I allowed you to die? She's never shut up." I smiled at him.
"Where are we going?" I followed him through a corpse of vampires.
"To the throne room." He opened a stone door. He opened that thousand pound door with ease. "That's where my father will be waiting to face off against the alpha."
Vampire guards rushed us, but Alec skillfully fought them off. He didn't break a sweat as he ripped their heads and hearts out. We made haste to the throne room. As we got closer, I heard grunts inside. Alec and I looked at each other before running inside.

On the ground, covered in blood, was my uncle and Domenico. They were in their lycan forms, but were seconds away from shifting back into their human counterparts. The vampire king's clothes were ragged and bloodied, but he still stood with a maniacal grin on his face. His hair was pure white and his eyes were void of color. In his hand was a silver sword that was coated in wolf blood.
"Ahh, my traitorous son." He gleamed. "I'll send you straight to where I sent your bitch of a mother!"
Alec snarled and darted to him. Alec was no match for the man. His father sliced him with the silver blade, weakening him instantly. He gripped Alec's throat and slammed him into the wall.
"Where. Is. She?." Alec spoke through gritted teeth.
"Destined to drown for eternity in the Mediterranean Sea... like your cunt of a mate." Alec roared and shoved the man away.
He then began punching his father mercilessly. The king laughed as Alec bloodied his mouth. He then ripped Alec off him and threw him into a stone chair. I winced as I heard Alec's body smack against it. Alec groaned as he was slumped on the floor. I could see pieces of silver inside his cuts.
"And the rightful Queen has returned." I focused my attention on the king. "And here... I thought you died." He drove his blade into my uncle's chest, causing him to cry out in pain. "So rude. I had to mourn your loss." He then drove the sword through Domenico's back. Domenico howled in pain before his body morphed back into a human. "But, all is well. I'll finally be able to kill you myself!"
He rushed me, but I was prepared for that. I met him halfway as I morphed into my lycan. His sword cut me, but I had also cut him with my claws. He hissed from my assault. I snarled at him and attacked.
He was fast. I'll give him that, but so was I. We continued battling, but he used something I'd never encountered before. He reached behind him and threw a smoke bomb in the air. I saw purplish-blue smoke dispel from it. I was confused until I inhaled the smoke and began coughing.
Against my will, I morphed back to my human skin. I fell onto the ground while clutching my throat in pain. My uncle and Domenico were acting in a similar manner to me. It was getting harder and harder to breathe. I felt like I was suffocating.
"Huh? You don't know what you inhaled do you?" The king squatted next to me. He ran his vile hands over my intimate parts. "What you inhaled is Wolfsbane, girl." I bit his arm when he circled my entrance. "Dirty dog!" He punched me in the face. "What a filthy little mutt you are! But I can't help but want to penetrate you." He then began cutting me with the sword.
I screamed in agony every time the blade cut a new part of my skin. I was in pain when he grabbed my throat. He moved his face close to mine as he eye raped my body.
"I'm gonna enjoy this." He moved his head back, preparing to strike my throat.
The attack didn't come since Lara burst through the doors and threw her father off me. I crashed onto the ground since I was so weak. I struggled to stand, but fell back to the ground. My healing was severely halted from the silver inside me.

Lara looked at me with intense focus. I then began to feel silver being propelled out my body while my wounds began to close. Since she was distracted, her father was able to punch her in the face. She staggered backwards while clutching her bleeding nose.
"Ha! The mate bond." He laughed loudly. "You're healing her by giving her some of your power. You're a fool, girl, because you'll need all your power to endure me for 5 minutes!" He tackled her onto the ground.
Lara pushed him off and began fighting him. He swung at her, but she blocked his punch. He then did something we didn't expect. He used his left hand to reach into his pocket. He then revealed the silver nails on his hand. He then drove the nails into Lara. She yelped as he pushed them deeper into her skin.
She looked at him with pain and betrayal. On the other hand, he stared at her with a face full of evil, lacking any remorse. A single tear fell from her eye. Not out of the physical pain, but the emotional pain knowing that he never loved her.
I felt myself involuntarily whimper from the emotional pain coursing through her veins. She was severely weakened from the silver in her veins. If the silver wasn't removed, she would for sure die. I tried to emulate what Lara did to me, but I had no idea how she did it.
I concentrated and willed myself to Lara. I wanted her to use every last bit of my energy, even if it killed me. I wanted her to survive since she was such a beautiful soul. I heard the soft clatter of metal hitting the floor. I looked up to see the silver nails leaving her body. The king was in shock, clearly not expecting me to know how to do it.
Lara's expression shifted from pain to anger. I gasped at the sight before me. Her skin color changed to a light blue while her dark hair became pure white. Her eyes were void of color. They were darker than her father's, whose eyes were already black.
With a guttural growl, she ripped her father from her and threw him into the wall. He stumbled up and looked shocked at her state. I'm guessing she's never gone full beast mode on his ass before. She then moved her hands and propelled a cauldron at him. He dodged out the way, but didn't escape Lara. She grabbed his neck and slammed him into the wall.
He kicked her, so she responded by tearing his leg off. He screamed in agony at the lost limb. She then bit into his neck and tore some of his skin off. He shook with fear as he looked upon his daughter.
Lara roared in his face before punching through his stomach. He stiffened. I then realized Lara probably had her hand wrapped around his heart. She then bent down next to his ear.
"Your reign is over, former king." She spat. "Time for a new reign. With a benevolent ruler." She hissed before yanking her arm back.
"A-Allura." Her father got out, as veins started to appear all over his body. "My pride and joy." He laughed out. "You killed me. I'm so proud that you've become a monster like me." Those were his final words.
Lara looked down at him and screamed in agony. Her voice got Alec to stumble up. He then raced to his sister and embraced her. She kept screaming and crying while he soothed her. I crawled to her form and rested my hand on her shoulder.
She turned to me with fearful eyes. Her blackened eyes appeared broken as they stared into my blue ones. Alec then told me to comfort her while he helped my uncle and Domenico. Lara fell into my embrace and shook. In a fit of rage, she pelted her father's heart into the wall.
"It's okay. It's okay." I rubbed her back. "I'm here."
"I'm a monster." She sounded so broken. "He was right. He accomplished his one goal. He created me, a monster." She sobbed harder.
"Lara, you are NOT a monster!" She jolted from my outburst. "You did what had to be done and you saved countless lives! You're a hero! No one else but you could face him! And you did it and saved all of humanity! You ended the war-" She cut me off with a kiss. She pulled back to reveal her normal features.
"You're okay." Her green eyes stared at me with such softness.
"Did you not hear a word I said?" I giggled.
"I'm just glad you're alright." She pulled me into her embrace. "I was terrified he had killed you. I heard your screams and raced towards you, but his Calvary had flanked the door. He wanted me to see your corpse when I enetered. And the longer it took me to kill them and the louder you screamed-"
"Hey!" I grabbed her face with my hands. "I'm okay. I'm here with you." I kissed her. "And I'm not going anywhere." She softly smiled. "You said werewolves and vampires are immortal, so I'm not going anywhere for eternity." She smiled and passionately kissed me. We were in a heated make out session when Alec cleared his throat.
"Glad that we settled she's fine, but we need to make sure all the wolves and vampires on our side are not dying from silver poisoning." He pointed at my uncle and Domenico. "And then I'd appreciate it if we could search for our mother and my mate." He spat.
Lara laughed, but nodded. She told him to round up the medics while she did a locator spell. Even in her battered state, Lara sped me to the library and began doing a spell to locate her mother and Alec's mate. I was the only one shocked that the king had actually placed them at the bottom of the ocean.
We quickly boarded a ship and set sail. While on the boat, we receive word that Taemin and Hailey were severely injured. Hailey had received her wounds from trying to protect Lara's mother while Taemin got his when trying to protect Sophie, Alec's mate. They were currently being treated and expected to make a full recovery. My uncle and Domenico were going to be alright with enough rest. I can't imagine how much my aunt is going to yell at Dante for getting hurt.

Phantom Storm
"Have you heard, the entire Bonanno crew was brutally murdered!" Exclaimed a youth in his early teens. "What? you're lying, again!" Another similarly aged child responded with crisp denial in his tone. After all, the crew was infamous for their ruthlessness. An eery silence passed between them. Soon enough, the teens' curiosity trumped his ego, and he found himself inquiring in a meek voice. "So...Who did it?" "I heard my father talking about it while he was drunk. Guess what he said?..." The child responded, he was a natural-born storyteller. Listening intently, the other teen urged him on. "It was done by a single person. When the police arrived, the bodies were charred black, likely the work of an electro mage. Most had an arrow or two lodged in their body, and a few were even chopped into neat little slices by a sharp blade." He paused, inhaling sharply. "All the victims had shocked expressions on their faces. As if the enemy was invisible or something. That's why they call that person the Phantom Storm!" concluded the adolescent with an excited glint in his eyes. 2 CHAPTERS PER WEEK (Canada time) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] -------------------------------------------- Follow Itsuki as he is reincarnated in an unfamiliar world, left to discover where he belongs in such a place.
