《THE RUNNING》12

Just a heads up, there will be 3 different POV.'s in this chapter ;)
~Elenore~
Waking up with my back pressed against Tiberius' bare chest and his arm wrapped tightly around my waist, I looked at the clock. 6:45
I sighed, completely comfortable in this position. It was as if our bodies were molded for eachother; each curve and dip of my body was matched flawlessly with his own.
Trying not to wake him up, I slowly turned around in his arms to be face to face with him. Successfully easing my way 180° around, I glanced up and saw his easy, gentle features. His mouth was slightly open and his eyebrows relaxed, no trace of frown or scowl lines ever existing. Taking my index finger, I softly pressed the pad of it to his bottom lip. Curling my finger slightly, his lip lowered then rested back into it's original position. Then running my fingernail down his face, neck, and torso, I outlined every muscle on his stony stomach, savoring the feeling of his smooth skin running against my finger.
"Mmm, that's a good way to wake up in the morning," Tiberius said gravelly, his voice husky and low. And sexy.. Blushing, I smiled and sat up in the bed.
"Good morning sleepyhead. Sleep well?" He reached over and fingered my pajamas I changed into after dinner last night before sleeping with Tiberius in our room.
"Since you were sleeping with me, I slept amazingly," he smiled innocently, his voice becoming more and more smooth as he talked. Flushed, I smiled and suggested we go get some breakfast. Agreeing, he changed while I went to take a quick shower in my old room since all of my clothes are there. Not seeing everybody along the way, I gathered an outfit I thought was cute and went to the bathroom, locking the door behind me just in case someone was to come in.
Scrubbing the loufa over my skin and foaming the Green Apple and Vanilla body wash, I started to think about what all has happened over the past few days. I've been taken by the Alpha Connall who's been nothing but caring and patient with me, befriended many pack members in the house, and now I live in the Alpha Mansion with Haley just down the hall. Never before would I have ever thought my life would turn out like this, but now look at me!
Finishing my shower, I wrapped myself in a towel and stepped out, combing through my hair to leave it damp and wavy. Taking the towel off, I changed into the cozy outfit of a sweater and skinny jeans I picked out earlier and brushed my teeth thoroughly. Deciding on light makeup, I fishtail braided my hair and walked out of the bathroom, finding Tiberius sitting on my bed.

"Hey, ready to go eat?" I asked, a smile on my face. He smiled back and said yea, intertwining our fingers and walking out together.
When we reached the dining room, I started to walk in but Tiberius held me back. Looking at him confusingly, he smirked and led me to the back of the house, and out the back door. Pleasant September air wrapped itself around us, making me inhale deeply. Goddess, I missed being outside. Fresh air and the smell of newly cut grass blew around the large backyard, softly rustling the trees surrounding us. As we walked hand in hand, a faint smile curved on my lips, but turned into a huge grin when I saw what he led me to;
At the very back of the yard where the sun shone brightly, a large plaid blanket lay spread out on the ground, a large picnic basket sitting in the corner with different foods positioned around it. Looking up at Tiberius in amazed disbelief, I saw him smiling sheepishly down at me.
"You..you did this for me?" I asked in disbelief, my mouth slack as I stared down at the touching scene before me. Nodding, he motioned towards the blanket and sat down, telling me the names of the different finger foods and dips. Talking and laughing, we began eating the delicious variety Tiberius brought for me.
~Tiberius~
Looking down at Elenore beside me on the blanket, a brilliant, dazzling smile on her face, I felt something, something I haven't felt in a long time. Seeing her sitting here, laughing with me and talking, made me feel more..whole. I suddenly started to feel something I haven't felt in a long time, the warmth it brought long forgotten, replaced by a cold maze that only leads to dead ends.
Watching her try different foods I brought, her body glowing with happiness, I started thinking about how close we've grown over the past few days, and what would do to keep her safe. In the beginning, I had to try so hard not to snap at her, or let Xander take control and mate her. I wasn't used to someone around me being so shy, so vulnerable. At first, I was only interested in Elenore because she was pretty and young, still unmated by any other wolf. I needed an heir, and she seemed like the perfect choice. Then, though, I started to see how strong she was, how determined and fierce she looked when running away for her freedom. Shockingly beautiful.
Now? Now I see her as a loving, breathtaking, and sincere woman that is as selfless as a angel. Not once has she disrespected anyone in that house, or made me angry at her.

Everyone things I am a monster, incapable of feeling love. That if you are in my way, I will kill you without a second thought. Hide your children, hide your wives!
No, I'm not like that..okay, I might've been, but not since Ellie came into my life.
Ellie, Elenore, Ells.. goddess, just her name can calm me down
Watching her sit cross legged on the blanket with a pleasant smile tugging at her lips, bouncing up and down lightly while inspecting a sandwich- then popping it in her mouth-,I noticed how innocent she was. If she was attacked, would she be able to fight them off? Would she be able to escape? I knew she could at least run away since she was amazing at that, but would that be enough?
Thinking about the meeting we had yesterday, I grew even more anxious.
*FLASHBACK*
"We must send more soldiers to the Borders of all the territories! If we know they're coming, why shouldn't we start preparing now?" Charlie, Alpha of the Brattin Pack territory, offered, an exasperated look on his face.
"But WHEN are they coming? If we send out soldiers now, they could be there for months! Away from their mates and children? That wouldn't solve anything!" Dean McNeeley shot back, young Alpha of the McNeeley Pack territory.
For the past hour, 40 or so Alphas, Betas, and important pack members from all over the Wolf Territories gathered in the meeting room, discussing a recent rising in Rogue activity. From packs all across the Wolf Territories, wolves of all ages have been found murdered, their bodies mangled and twisted in unimaginable ways.
Arguing broke out in the room, voices growing in volume and anger.
"ENOUGH!" I boomed, using my Alpha voice on the irritating wolves before me. Everyone immediately stopped arguing, staring at their ultimate Alpha in submission.
"We all know who is leading the god damn rogues, so stop talking as if he doesn't exist!" It's true; we all knew who was telling the rogues to do the things they've done recently, but no one dare say his name. "What we need to figure out is why he's doing these things NOW, and not before. He's most likely found something he wants, and we all know how far he'll go to get it."
No one spoke for a minute, trying to think of what it could be. Suddenly, a quiet middle aged member of my pack, who never says anything during the meetings, spoke.
"Alpha, what is he wants Luna Elenore? After all, you just got her, and he's had a past with attractive She-wolves," August Hail uttered, his voice gentle. The thought of rogues taking MY Elenore made my blood boil, painting red across my vision.
"Those fucking rogues will not lay a fucking PAW on her! She is MINE, and I will kill ANYONE who thinks otherwise!!" I roared, pure unconditional rage absorbing into every wolf in the room. A soft padding noise sounded from the other side of the door, but I paid it no mind.
After a minutes of silence, I sighed and ordered Gail to send soldiers to the borders at various spots, and switch them out every other week.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
I was honest when I said I would kill anyone who thought she wasn't mine, who threatened her and I's relationship. Shaking my head from the plaguing thoughts, I turned towards Ellie and began to eat breakfast with her, enjoying the warm weather, food, and her.
~Unknown~
A laugh rang out, sounding so sweet and innocent and fragile. Turning, I stalked through the Alpha's Territory in my wolf body, careful not to make noise that would alert the guards.
Peering through the tree limbs and bushes, I smiled as I saw a stunningly beautiful young girl, her hair braided and head tilted back, exposing her creamy skin. Smiling elegantly, she turned towards the man sitting next to her, saying something and laughed again, along with him.
Alpha Connall. I sneered, wishing I could run up to him and rip his throat out with my canines right now. But, I started to think, that would get the goddess next to him bloody, and I don't think she'd appreciate that.
Yes, I've been making a..mess of things right now with the Rogues, but it's all for a good reason. Reluctantly, I turned around and started back into the woods, turning to look at the girl once more, burning her feminine features into my memory.
I'll see you soon, princess. I promise.

Thief of Time
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Book 1: The Legend of Tot Synopsis: Claud Primus, a self-declared master thief, has a simple goal. To live forever. It's a rather easy task, for miraculous objects called lifestones are able to extend one's lifespan. These lifestones are best found in the treasuries of nobles, lovely resorts that Claud pays a visit to every so often. Unfortunately, one of those nightly visits go awry, and Claud is forced to escape with just a single lifestone and a box in hand. Normally, that's when things die down. The guards yawn, the gates close, and the night continues. But this time, the night isn't that forgiving. A dozen schemes result in the murder of someone important, and with a convenient scapegoat — Claud — at hand, it doesn't take long for him to be framed as a heinous criminal, wanted for the indirect murder of someone high up...and it just gets worse from there. Book 2: The Moon Lords' Rise Synopsis: As ordered chaos sweeps across Licencia, Claud leaves for Julan Barony, intent on making some profits there. Accompanied by the erstwhile heiress of Julan, a fellow member of the Moon Lords, the two plot against the barony's wealth...as well as a promise to bring about its downfall. Meanwhile, back home, the Moon Lords have busied themselves with digesting their gains. Eyes, however, are beginning to turn to this proverbial fish in a small pond. The fishermen are coming. When they cast their hook, what will Dia and the others do? Book 3: Murders under the Moons Synopsis: In the sleepy town of Nachtville, where Claud and Lily are forced to stop at, a set of nasty murders occurs. Victims scream out in fright, before a spear falls from the sky to end their suffering. Cowed and cautious, the master thief and his partner slink in the shadows, their objective that of home... A new task, however, has fallen on Dia. With a trusty helper at her side, she has to set off towards Nachtville itself, to solve the mystery Claud had abandoned. Faced with an enemy whose sole skillset is geared towards killing, how will they succeed? And what dark secrets will they find? Book 4: In the Dark of the Moons Synopsis: The year has ended. The four months of the full moons will soon be followed by two months of the new moons. Duke Istrel's ascension is around the corner. Amidst this political upheaval, Count Nightfall, Licencia's strongest defender, has been called away. The Moon Lords' largest task yet — to protect Licencia in the absence of its ruler — has begun. And yet, trouble is unrelenting. A distinguished personage, one that Claud fears, has been found dead in the county, his brains dug out and his body disemboweled. The inquisitors of the White Church have been dispatched to investigate and apprehend the murderer...as well as the person behind this puppet. Tormented by a call to fight, Claud directs his eyes out of the city, looking for the puppetmaster. Skulking in the shadows, the master thief will soon confront his greatest foe yet. A foe just like him. Book 5: Moonlit Tides and Darkened Seas Synopsis: A new era has begun. For the privileged, the sands of time dribble away for every passing moment, counting down to the arrival of a entity of mythical proportions. The night now harbours shadows and fog, and operatives of the Moons and the Dark clash in shadow. Claud, as usual, is investigating a spate of nasty disappearances in the city, but little does he know what these disappearances truly mean. And yet, a tide is coming. When it finally breaks, what will he do? Book 6: Secrets in Shadow Synopsis: The person behind a strike that would enter the annals of history flees his home, bringing with him the person closest to his heart into a new land and into a new world. Having left Istrel for the first time in his life, the two of them attempt to settle down in foreign lands, only to be caught in the middle of hostilities between two mighty powers grappling for dominion. Yet, none of that has anything to do with him. Following his desires, Claud eventually makes his way to the fabled Celestia Ruins, a fragment of another world. Bearing witness to truths he cannot yet comprehend, he returns from his exploration, a small break away from the machinations of destiny. One thing, however, is for certain. Destiny will not wait for him. Book 7: Reddest Rage Synopsis: Destiny churns on, heedless of mortal machinations, and Claud watches as the battlegrounds between the Moons and the Dark are drawn up. With the forces of the great Dark occupying Lostfon, Claud comes to a startling realisation — that he may have very well be a murderer of heinous proportions. Grappling with that realisation, he struggles to prepare for his Second Tutorial... Back in Istrel, Dia finds herself confronted with a perennial truth. Even in a time of writhing destiny, the machinations between nobles never cease to end — and unfortunately for her, the group once known as the Moon Lords are forced into dealing with a petty squabble between two counts. What they didn't account for, however, was the startling discovery they would soon make... And the shadow of the Red God's Holy Son behind it all. Book 8: Darkness Descends Synopsis: Nightmares haunt the horizon as Claud sinks and awakens from a seeming dream. What was once illusory begins to play out before him, in a way he cannot imagine. Dia, forced to wield arms, begins and ends a battle that opens her eyes to the vast dangers that lurk in this sundered world. Under the banner of humanity and divinity, she beholds the silent, forgotten protectors of Orb...but there is no forgetting the battle between the divinities. The Dark descends, the Moons writhe, and the horns of war blow once more. But this is not their battle. Not yet. Book 9: Moons Muster Synopsis: As more and more events fall into place, Claud finds himself desperate. Not for himself, but for the person who has turned into his world. Armed with the knowledge of a certain future, he approaches the only person that could possibly help him in his time of need, trading information for a promise of help. With that as solace, he returns to the grim task of understanding and seeking, revisiting an ancient, shattered fragment of another world...unleashing changes that he never knew was possible. Back in Istrel, Dia and the others must now navigate around a familiar spirit, who seeks to investigate the death of his master's Bearer. With them as prime suspects, the Seekers of Life must move carefully...but the Coloured Gods are not the only divinities eyeing them closely. The Moons, bristling from repeated defeats, are looking for new recruits, and the Seekers of Life are prime cannon fodder. Above all, destiny marches on, the unfeeling clock a warning to all. The Trial of Aeons will soon arrive. Book 10: Destiny Divine Synopsis: ??? Release frequency: one every few days or something, I guess. Twoen
The struggle for an interesting game has been the story of my life for quite some time. Every game I find is either too easy, not interesting or too short. Luckily, my two brothers who match my level of skill, albeit in different areas, tend to spice things up. When I look at my older brother I have no idea how he gets anything done when he's such an idiot. Still it doesn't detract from my respect for him as a gamer, though maybe a little. When I look at my younger brother I marvel at the monster that my older brother and I created. Deadliness, craftiness and quiet, both in what he does and how he is. When it's just us three we tend to destory everything in our path. So normally we tend to compete rather than team. Although that isn't to say we're just good as individuals. When we work together our effectiveness multiplies rather than lowering. Well enough about us dorks. Anyway a new VR game came out, apparently in development for quite some time. Of course my older brother decided to drive out and buy three copies. What would this one be missing? Difficulty? Depth? Length? In any case I plan to reach the top before my brothers do. It was a competition after all. Twoen had all three things I normally yearn for in spades. Something I did not foresee. A keeper
