《Welcome to Hell Boys ✔》Chapter 38 - Edited Once

I saw the bullet making its way to me, and I saw my life flash before my eyes, but then I was shoved down in an instant by Jaxon's muscular arms. "You okay?" Jaxon asked me, and I nodded. My heart was throbbing loudly to the point of hearing my heart beats in my ears. Who wouldn't when they had a bullet coming their way?
"Let's move," Noah said while pointing at Matthew, standing and looking enraged. We ran from the basement, but before we were out of the house completely, we heard Matthew yell at his phone to get some backup.
"Shit, that's not good," Owen muttered, and we were in front of the cars.
"Why?" I asked. Think Ariel! Why would it be good?
"His men are huge. We need to hide away and now!" Aaron answered me, and we got into the cars. Jaxon and I in his, Noah and Owen in Owen's car, and Aaron in his own car. And we drove off.
"We need to get to the airport," Jaxon told me, and I nodded. He pressed the gas pedal, and I clenched my seatbelt to my dear life. The airport?
"Okay, but they will be after us for sure," I said with a sigh, then ran my hand through my wavy hair. The air was too much for my hair, so it was a mess. Not the time, Ariel.
"Everything is going to be alright, don't worry, and by the way, your family will be waiting for us at the airport, hopefully." He stated, and I snapped my head towards him. "I called them when you were with Ryder and told them to come as fast as possible with some help. So, by the time we reach the airport, they will land... " He explained and rubbed the sweat from his forehead. We did not talk for five minutes. I imagined what could have happened if they did not come to rescue me.

"Jaxon," I called.
He looked at me with a soft expression. "yeah?"
"He was about to rape me."
He clenched the steering wheel, and I heard him curse under his breath. "Shit, I am sorry. We should have never complied with his orders." He grabbed my hand and kissed it.
I sighed. "Jaxon."
"Yeah?"
"I love you," I told him, and he smiled. He put his hand on my knee and squeezed it.
"I love you, Carino. So, what about this husband thing you were talking about with Matthew?" he asked with a smirk, and I felt a blush becoming visible. He had to remember that?
I felt nervous. "Oh... that, it's um, nothing," I looked away.
"No, tell me," he whined.
"Fine! He told me he wanted to be my husband and all, so I told him I would rather die with my true husband, so he assumed that I was talking about you," I replied, trying to avoid eye contact.
"So, you weren't talking about me?" he asked in his serious tone.
"I was talking about you," I whispered quietly, but he heard me clearly because he kissed my cheek swiftly without losing control of the car.
He beamed at me, and I felt shy. "I would love to have a future with you and be your beloved husband... If we make it out alive from this first," he said softly and laughed at the end.
"You had to ruin the moment," I stated with a chuckle, and he laughed at me. After what seemed like an hour on the road, Noah called Jaxon. They were right behind us in a car.
"Jaxon," Noah said.
"What's up?" Jaxon asked him. Preparing for the worst.

"The sky and they are behind us," Noah replied seriously. I looked back and saw four black cars chasing us.
"Great," Jaxon muttered. "Speed up, and follow me. I'll take a shortcut. Call Aaron and tell him too," Jaxon instructed, and then he put his phone down and told me to hold tight. I was about to ask him why but he made a hard turn, making us go into a small road that fit for one car only.
"Grab my phone and call your brother," Jaxon requested.
"Which brother?"
"Doesn't matter, just call." I nodded and dialed Davin's number. I waited for a few seconds, then he picked up, and I put it on speaker.
"Davin," I said.
"Ariel? Are you okay?" He asked, sounding all worried and worked up.
"No, we are being chased by doctor Matthew's men. Where are you? Did you land?" I asked while taking a glance behind us.
"I'm at the airport that Jaxon told us to be at," he answered, and Jaxon nodded.
"Did you bring help?" Jaxon asked him, focusing on the road and avoiding people. It would not be pretty to hit someone.
"Yes, I brought some help and the police too," Davin replied, and I sighed in relief. It might actually end soon.
"Okay, stay there. We're on our way to you. Be prepared!" With that, I ended the call. "Let's hope for the best," I muttered, and Jaxon nodded.

Aaron
Driving behind Owen's car, I saw four black cars after us. I panicked and grabbed my phone. As I wanted to call Owen, the world decided to be nice to me today and let him call me first. I pressed the green button, put it on speaker, and placed it on my knee. "Yes?"
Noah was the one who was on the phone. "Aaron, follow us, and if you ever lose us, follow Jaxon. He knows a shortcut to the airport," he informed me, and I nodded.
"Okay," I replied and ended the call. I needed to warn Lilly. So I called her and waited for her to pick up.
"Hey honey," she said in her soothing voice. Ugh, how much I missed her. Wait, I was with her yesterday!
"Lilly, where are you?" I asked in a rushed tone.
"Home, why?"
"Good, stay there and do not get out until I come and get you, okay? Don't ever open the door to anyone you don't trust or know," I warned her, and she gasped.
"Why? Are you okay? What's happening?" she asked in a worried tone.
"Yes, I am. I'll explain everything once I'm done. Just wait for me, cupcakes," I replied with a smile. There was a pause for a minute or two until Lilly spoke again.
"Okay, stay safe, babe," she whispered, and I could tell she was walking back and forth in the house. I just knew my baby.
"Honey, chill! Everything will be fine. Just sit and relax for the baby and me, okay?" I requested with a sigh of weariness.
"Alright, I'll be waiting." With that, she ended that call. After another thirty minutes, we arrived at the airport. We got out of the cars and waited for Ariel's family to show up.
Let's hope for the best.
