Athena's POV

I am currently sitting in front of Max and well let e tell you this guy is very intimidating. "Okay so, we should come up with a common story line, like how we met and when you proposed and how you proposed," I told him and he slowly looked at me with a blank face. "Well I thought you were a dumb girl but well I guess not," he said making me scowl. How mature. "Anyways what do you suggest," he asked patiently waiting for an answer. "Well we could say that you met me here at the cafe itself right," I asked and he nodded. "Well that's how we met, you came to this cafe often and one time you noticed me and you asked me out," I said as I looked at his reaction. "Okay well I guess that is believable," he said as he took a sip of his coffee. "Now how did you propose," I asked as I took a bit of my donut. "Well I proposed to you on your birthday in a very subtle way because I'm not a romantic guy," he said. Oh well as if I was expecting him to confess his unconditional love for me.

"Okay so what if I decide to break the contract," I asked him curiously. "Well you will not get the money and I will make sure that you don't get a job for the rest of your life little dove," he said making me suddenly nervous. "Okay then," I said as I gulped. "I need to tell my mom about you," I said as I held my face in my hands. "And you are moving in with me tomorrow," he said making my mouth drop to the floor. "My mom is going to kill me," I said under my breath as I looked at my feet. "Well then come to my place tonight," I said despite my mind being somewhere else. He nodded still with no emotion on his face.

After an hour, I got back home and was greeted by my mom who was also returning home. "Hi mom. Did you have fun," I asked her as we got inside. "Yes honey and what about you? Don't you have to work today," she asked me as she realised that it was my working hours. "Mom I need to tell you something," I said as we both took a seat in the living room. "Is everything alright honey," my mom asked seeming a little worried. "There is nothing to worry about mom. It's just that I have met someone a year ago and he recently proposed to me," I said and my mom gasped. "My little girl has a man in her life. Oh honey why didn't you tell me that earlier," she said as she pulled me in a hug. "You should invite him over," she said with a big smile on her face. Oh man I'm lying to my mom and I'm feeling extremely guilty. "Yes mom, I actually invited him for dinner," I said and her face brightened up. "Let's go and prepare something special then," she said as she dragged me into the kitchen. She looks so happy knowing that I have someone in my life. I can't help but feel guilty that she is going to be devastated when it will be over.

We just finished preparing dinner and it all looked so delicious. "Honey call Jacob and Dereck over. I know lasagna is Dereck's favourite," she said as she took out her special plates out of the cupboard. Damn those are the plates that she uses only on special occasion. "Yes sure mom I'll call them," I said as I made my way out and to their house. I knocked on the door and shortly after Jacob came to open the door. "Come over for dinner," I said as I got inside. "Where is Dereck by the way," I asked as he closed the door. "He is sleeping. Anyways do you want me to come over now itself," he asked me and I nodded. "Let's go then. We can just text Dereck to come when he gets up," he said as he locked the door.

After a few hours, it was time for Max to come over and I couldn't help but feel more nervous as the seconds pass by. Suddenly the bell rung so I got up and opened the door. "Hello little dove those are for you," he said as he handed me a bouquet of white lilies. Wow those flowers are beautiful. "Hello Mr Knight. Thank you," I said as I grabbed the lilies and let him in. "Won't you introduce us honey," mom said as she came to join us in the living room. "Maximus this is my beloved mother. And mom this is Maximus Knight, the fiance," I said as he greeted her. "It's a pleasure meeting you Mrs Demetrius," he said as he held her hand and kiss the back of it. "And this is my best friend Jacob," I said as I pointed to Jacob who was standing in the corner observing Maximus.

"Maximus Knight," Max introduced himself as he put his hand forward for a handshake. Jacob looked at Max's hand for a little while before accepting it. "Jacob Black," Jacob said as he shook Max's hand. They were actually getting along which is amazing. I mean they were mainly talking about business which was annoying. Also my mom was bombarding him with questions.

After a few minutes later, the front door opened followed by Dereck's voice. "People your life just got better because I blessed you with my presence," Dereck said as I got up to welcome him. As soon as he got near me, he picked me up and threw me on his shoulder. "Why would you do that Dereck? Put me down," I said and he laughed. "Delia you are so lucky to have me in your life," he said making me roll my eyes. "We are in the kitchen Dereck come here," my mom called out. "Hello people-," he said but stopped abruptly as we got in the kitchen. He finally put me down. I saw him looking blankly at Max. Max was also glaring at him. "Okay so Dereck this is Maximus, my fiance," I said hoping for them to talk and get along.

"Mom I'm going to call Eros," I told her as I made my way upstairs to his room. Knocking on his, I opened his door. "Hey you stinky butt, what are you doing," I asked him as I saw him drawing something. "Nothing much. Is dinner ready," he asked absentmindedly as he was focused on his drawing. "Yea let's go Jacob and Dereck are here and there is also someone I want you to meet," I said and he looked at me with a confused face. "Okay let's go," he said as he got up with me trailing behind.

As we got to the kitchen, he looked at Max with a frown on his face. "Who is this," he whispered to me. "This is my fiancé, Maximus Knight. And Max this is my younger brother, Eros," I said as Max greeted my brother. Oh well seems like Eros kind of like Max already as they both started talking.

"Everything is delicious Mrs Demetrius," Max said as he ate his food. "I don't like this guy," Dereck whispered in my ear as everyone was talking. "Bear with him Dereck. It's just for a year," I pleaded him with my puppy eyes. "He better not hurt you," he whispered back making me laughed. "It's not like I like him Dereck," I said making him roll his eyes. I couldn't help but feel someone's heavy stares piercing right through me as I was talking with Dereck and as soon as I looked up, I saw Max looking at me, sending chills down my body. Well that is weird.

At the end of the night, everyone had a great time. My mom and Eros really like Max and my mom even started talking about the wedding making me want to slap myself. Oh well it's normal because my mom thinks it's all real. It's going to be fine. Anyways I'm doing this for my brother so it's all worth it.

"It was really nice having you over Maximus," my mom said as everyone was at the door bidding goodbye to Max. "It was a pleasure for me to finally be able to meet you guys," he said as he placed a kiss on my forehead while his arm was around my waist. Feeling his mere touch sent ripples of a weird sensation throughout my body. We then made our way out as Dereck and Jacob followed. "Guys come and sleep over," I told them. I felt the arm of Max suddenly tense up around my waist. Dereck was glaring at him while Jacob was already on his way home to get him pjs. "Go Dereck I'm waiting for you guys," I said and he finally nodded and left. "Ok well Mr Knight, I'll see you tomorrow when I finish all the packing that I need," I said and he just gave me a nod.

He suddenly dipped down while holding my chin. I froze in place as I didn't know what was happening. His face came closer and closer. As he slowly angled his face, he sealed our lips together making me instantly close my eyes. What is happening? Realizing that I am kissing him, I broke the kiss and looked at him straight in the eyes. "Your mom was looking at us through the window," he said making me roll my eye. "See you tomorrow little dove," he said before pecking my lips.

I stood there watching his car going away till it completely disappeared. At this point I already felt like something bad was bound to happen in the next few months. His mere touch has an huge effect on me but thank God he didn't notice it. I just wish everything goes smoothly. I need to do this for my brother.
