Athena's POV

After getting ready, I stared at myself in the mirror. I must say I look kind of nice in this outfit. I look sophisticate and classy so I guess this is appropriate. With the very deep slit in the front, I feel like my boobs will pop out anytime. I tried wiggling around and they didn't come out so it should be fine. Taking one last glance, I fixed my hair. "You look presentable Delia. Breathe in and breathe out. It's going to be alright," I said as if giving myself a prep talk.

A few seconds later, someone knocked on my door. "Come in," I said as I got out of the bathroom to see Maria entering my bedroom. "Hello Maria," I said with a big smile on my lips. "Hello Athena, Mr Knight sent me to check on you. So if you are ready, can we head down," she asked me and I nodded. "By the way, you look gorgeous," she said making me smile. "Thank you Maria," I said.

As we reached the living room, I didn't see Max any where. "Mr Knight might be in his study," she said. "I'll just go and find him there," I said and Maria nodded before going back to her chores.

Upon reaching his study, I knocked on the huge door in front of me. "Come in," he said in a very authoritative way. I pushed the door open and immediately gasped. "That is your study," I said fascinated by what is in front of me. "Yea why," he asked looking confused. "Look at all these books," I said as got closer to the shelves filled with books. They even reached the ceiling. "This looks like heaven," I said I looked at the glory of books in front of me.

He chuckled at my reaction. "Such a drama queen," he said making me scowl. "You don't know anything. This is really my heaven. Have you read all the books here," I asked as I was looking at the different books at my eye level. Those were some interesting books. There were books about money management, hypnosis, self development and many more. "I actually haven't. It's actually my grandfather's collection. He gifted his how library to me on my twentieth birthday," he said. "Oh we should get going," he added as I saw him look at his watch.

As he came closer to me, he slid his arm around my waist and pulled me into his chest. "Also might I add, you look ravishing," he said. As he said that, I look into his eyes, not knowing what to say or do. "Thank you. You look good yourself," I said as we still held our gaze. Oh God, this man surely makes me lose my senses. I cleaned my throat and pulled myself out of his arm. "We should get going Max," I said and he nodded.

He then intertwined our hands together as we made our way out of the mansion. John was waiting for us near the car with the door open. I thanked John as we got in and settled. "Are you still nervous," Max suddenly asked me. I was truly touched that he was concerned about me. "I know that it'll be fine. Just like you said," I said and he gave me his gorgeous smile. God just kill me now. "Exactly. Just trust me," he said. "I do," I said as I looked at him. I saw satisfaction in his eyes. I rolled my eyes at him and he chuckled as I did so.

Some time passed by and we were finally at his parents house. Well it was more like a huge mansion. I felt intimidated by the splendor of the mansion. I definitely do not belong here. Max's mansion and his parents' mansion looks like they are from movies. It just seems surreal. The driveway was majestic with ginormous fountain just in front of the mansion. It was just mind blowing to me.

As the car stops at to the front of the mansion, John got out of the car and rush to open my door. It kind of frustrates me as I am capable of doing it myself but well I know John is just doing his job. So I thanked him as he helped me out of the car. "Ready," Max asked as he came beside me and slipped his arm around my waist. I was definitely not ready but I just nodded and he gave me a reassuring smile.

John opened the front door for us and let us inside before disappearing to God knows where. Some maids accompanied us to where everyone was. "My baby is here," I heard a woman said as she rushed to Max and hugged him. I chuckled at the scene. The woman looked similar to Max, she must be his mother. "Mama you are crushing me," Max said making me laugh. "Let me love my son," she said not letting go. This is so adorable.

When she finally let go of Max, she saw me standing near. "Mama this is Athena and Athena this is my mother, Luciana Knight," he said as he came by my side. "It's a pleasure meeting you Mrs Knight," I said as I put my hand forward for a handshake. "Oh honey no need for all the formalities. Call me Lucy. I can't believe my son has brought a girl to the family dinner. You are such a beautiful girl," she said as she pulled me into a hug. Well I was freaking out for nothing. "Why did you never tell me about Athena, Max," she asked him pretending to be mad.

As we joined the other people in the dining room, everyone stopped talking and looked at us. "What happened," I asked Max. "I guess it shocks them that I brought someone with me for the first time," he said. Oh well ok then, I didn't know that was that kind of a big deal. "Won't you introduce her to us Max," someone said from the crowd in front of us. "Well everybody this is Athena, my fiancé and little dove, this is my family," he said and I heard them gasped. Is this really that shocking?

"You got engaged," a lot of them asked with shock apparent on their face. I laughed at their reaction and Max was frowning. Now Max is introducing me to everyone one by one.

"Uncle Maxi," a little boy yelled as he ran to Max. A beautiful woman was running behind him. She looked similar to Max but she had blue eyes. "Careful Axel," she said as she reached us. "Hey Max," she said and Max gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Aurora, I want you to meet Athena. And Athena this is my sister Aurora," he said as he pointed to his sister. "Hi. Nice to meet you," I said with a big smile with she returned. She seems like a pleasant woman. "This little monster right here is my son, Axel," she said referring to the cute little boy in the arms of Max. "Hello Axel, I'm Athena," I said and he was looking at me intently. "Will you play with me," he asked in his adorable little voice. "Of course," I said as he wiggles out of Max's arm and came and took my hand. What a cute little boy!

Before coming here, I was definitely very nervous about the night. Now that I have actually met his family, I'm happy that I came. His mother is such an adorable woman, Aurora is great company and his father looking intimidating but he is the nicest man ever. I must say, Max would actually be a great partner. I always thought that he was a player and was arrogant. His actions has been completely opposite of being arrogant. He reassured me and made sure I was comfortable. Am I falling for him? I can't let that happen. After the contract, we will have to go out separate ways. I'm doing this for Eros. I need to be strong.
