《Cute but Psycho (Emmett Cullen)》Chapter Three

Once lunch had ended, it was time for Piper to run to shop class. Piper was a fan of cars, so she wanted to know quite a bit about fixing them. She had taken shop each year of high school, and now she was finally in her senior year shop class. She hoped it would be more challenging and less boring than it had been the following years she had been in it.
"Hello Piper, I'm Mr Jackson, but most of the kids call me Auto, since I'm the shop teacher. I looked through your old school grades for this class, and I have to say I'm impressed. I hope my class gives you the challenge you're looking for. From today until the end of school, your work buddies with be Mark Westley and Rosalie Hale. Mark's buddy dropped out Friday, and Rosalie refused to have a buddy, I would suppose it's because she's a girl. To give her a chance to finally have a buddy, I'm going to pair her with you, I'm adding Mark to your buddy team since I have an odd number of students." Mr Jackson stated, and Piper nodded.
As soon as Mark had heard he was teamed up with Piper, he wrapped his arm around her shoulders and pulled her over to his area. Rosalie rolled her eyes, deciding she'd introduce herself to Mark and Piper, even though she didn't want to. She walked over to them, only to realize that Piper Swan was the girl Alice had told the family about. Apparently, Piper was the girl that would finally make Emmett happy. Rosalie hated that the girl was human, but she couldn't lie and say she didn't like the girl's style or personality.
"Hi Piper, I'm Rosalie Hale. I'll be your other partner, other than Mark." Rosalie said, practically ignoring Mark completely.

Mark held a shocked look on his face as his eyes traveled between Rosalie and Piper. He had never seen Rosalie talk to anyone, and he had heard Rosalie was actually quite a bitch, but apparently Piper was the one person Rosalie was willing to talk to and also not be a complete bitch to either.
"Nice to meet you, Rosalie. I like your outfit." Piper complimented, trying to be as nice to Rosalie as she could.
"I like yours as well, very edgy." Rosalie replied, causing the girl to laugh lightly.
"So I've been told. Apparently edgy and hipster isn't very accepted here, but I really don't care. I'd rather be myself than bow to society's standards." Piper said, and Rosalie genuinely smiled.
"I'm glad you feel that way. I have to say I feel the same, especially when it comes to this class. We're the only two girls who have ever taken this class, and probably the only two that ever will." Rosalie commented, causing Piper to smile cheekily with a shrug.
"Not everyone can be as amazing as us." She answered, sending the blonde a playful wink.
Rosalie had to say she was getting along well with Piper. Piper had included Mark in some of the conversation, since she didn't want him to feel left out. Rosalie understood what Piper was doing, but she still wasn't very open with the human male. Mark was a nice guy, but Rosalie knew she didn't need to make friends with humans, unless the human was Piper Swan. Rosalie almost believed she'd be able to look past her morals and become friends with Piper, since Piper was such an amazing girl. There was quite a bit of evidence that Piper and Rosalie would eventually become the best of friends.

By the time shop had ended, Piper, Mark, and Rosalie had learned quite a bit about each other. They had learned more about Piper, since she was the new girl though. Piper headed straight to the gym where the girls were practicing their basketball, so she could talk to the coach and finally get on the team. As soon as she had found Coach Jones, she ran over to him with a hopeful smile.
"Hello, you must be Piper Swan. I've gotten word that you'd like to try out for the girls' basketball team," Coach Jones commented, and Piper quickly nodded, "Show me what you got today, and by the end of practice, I'll let you know if you have a spot on my team." He added, and she agreed.
Piper placed her things down, before running to the locker room to change into a pair of basketball shorts and a tshirt. As soon as she was done changing, she ran out on to the court and was accepted on to a team almost instantly. Coach Jones was shocked with how well Piper was playing, since he hadn't seen many girls play as well as she did. He almost believed she'd get a scholarship for basketball instantly if she was on the team. By the time practice was over, Coach Jones had his answer ready.
"Swan! You're on the team! We'll have your uniform ready Friday!" Coach Jones exclaimed, as he stood on the other side of the gym.
Piper cheered as she ran back into the locker room to change. As soon as she changed, she quickly made her way outside. When she opened the door to go outside, she ran into what felt like a brick wall. She fell to the ground with a thud, and she looked up to see the burley Cullen she had first seen in lunch. The boy looked down at her, a playful smirk on his face.
"You could help me up." She commented, huffing as she crossed her arms.
"Sorry, princess." He replied, sticking his hand out for her.
Her warm hand met his cold one, but she didn't show any sign of surprise when she felt the difference in temperature. He pulled her up off of the floor, and she quickly dusted herself off once she was standing.
"Watch where you're standing next time you great brute." She joked, and he chuckled.
"Sure thing," He replied, sending her a wink,"see you in history tomorrow, princess." He added, before turning away from Piper and walking towards his family.
Piper hadn't realized Emmett was in her history class, but knowing that he was now, made her want to go back to history. If only she had paid more attention to the students, she would've realized he was in her class. She wondered if she'd be his friend like she was Rosalie and Alice's...

A/N: I hope you guys liked this chapter. I somewhat wanted Emmett and Piper's meeting to be completely different from Edward and Bella's. Bella and Edward were way too cringey. I hope Emmett and Piper aren't.
Love you guys!

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
