Marinette gasped and bolted up in bed. She took a few shaky, quick breaths and calmed herself. She looked at her clock. 3:39 am. She had only been asleep for a couple of hours and already her nightmare was plauging her.

For the past week since going to the future she had relived one of the worst days of her life in her sleep, sometimes more than once. Marinette reached up to wipe her brow of sweat, but felt something else on her cheeks, something not sticky like sweat. Tears. This is taking a bigger toll on me than I thought Marinette thought, if it can cause me to cry.

She got up to go to her balcony and rethink what happened when she went into time and was fighting Chat Blanc.

"Of course we're gonna fix everything!" Chat Blanc says as he crawls around Ladybug like a cat, "Now that you're back and now that you're going to..." he pauses as he stands up and tries to grab her earrings, " ... give me your Miraculous!"

Ladybug kicks him away, 'My Miraculous? What's wrong with you, Chat Noir?"

Chat Blanc calmly says, "Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude, m'lady. Could you please hand me your Miraculous, please? Chat Blanc has... gotten into some mischief."

"You've been akumatized, Chat Noir." She says as she walks toward Chat Blanc, "You don't need my Miraculous, you need me to de-evilize you. Let me help you., " she says as she wipes away Cat Blanc's tear.

Marinette sighed as she recalled the conversation continue to Chat Blanc outburst.

"Now you're breaking more than my heart, Marinette!

"His heart..." Marinette thought as she looked up at the night sky still thinking about what happened next, "Why did he knew my name?"

"Things were PURRfect until Hawk Moth found out about everything."

"What was everything that made him do it?" Marinette wondered.

"Once the cat is out of the bag, it's only a matter of time 'till everyone knows. It was our love that did this to the world, m'lady."

"How were we a couple? I'm in love with Adrien" Marinette thought out loud.

"What bothering you Marinette?" Tikki floated onto her shoulder.

"Chat Noir..." Marinette shuddered, "I know we save the future. But I can't help think about what happen on why Chat Noir knew my identity."

"I thought you figured that out already," Tiki replies.

"Yeah, I did. Adrien made the connection, but that not it." Marinette sighed.

"What do you mean?"

"Something else happened..."

"You know that by merging our Miraculous, we'd be granted one wish, right? Any wish we wanted. Well, my wish would be to fix everything, so we could be in love again."

"He said we were in love." Marinette sighed, "Maybe I told him, that I was Ladybug."

"That would mean you felt feelings toward him."

"But that can' be. I'm in love with Adrien," Marinette reassured.

"Marinette you can't be in love with someone who," Tikki tried to continue but couldn't find the words.

"Thinks of me as only as a friend." Marinette sighed, "Your right, but I can't be in love with Chat Noir."

"You sure? What about that kiss?" Tikki reminded her of the forgotten moment where she and Chat Noir defeated Nino and Alya, "You both look like you were in love."

"If it's true, that I had feelings for him. We can't be ever together. No that I know if it results in him destroying the city."

"Well, now you can do whatever in your hands to not let it happen," Tikki reassured.

"But what if I made it worst on messing with time?" Marinette questioned.

"You don't see Bunnyx coming out of a time hole, do you?"

"Uh, no." Marinette responded.

"Well then," Tikki concluded, "Then it's ok," Tikki yawned as she floated next to Marinette's shoulder.

"Your right Tikki, "Marinette smiled as she got up about to leave into her room. Then Marinette heard a whooshing and saw a black hole open with a person dropping out of. Marinette ducked down as she saw it to be Time Tagger, "And I spoke too soon."She says as she looked at Tikki, "Spots on."

"She's not here mothy." Timetagger was saying as was on the rooftop looking around the city.

"She'll arrive soon enough," They said through Timetagger's head.

"Here to cause some trouble Timetagger, "Ladybug announced herself as she was swinging her yoyo ready to attack.

"Save the theatrics. I'm not here to cause trouble." He says as he opens a portal hole.

"Then what are you doing here," Ladybug asked not so convinced.

"Giving you a chance to save the future."He says as he took a step into the hole and held his hand out.

"What?" she replies as she slowly put her yo-yo down.

Timetagger took a deep breath, "This war between you and mothy will go on for years of endless battles. The future is not so pretty. He wants a deal to end it."

"He wants a deal?" Ladybug gave sly brow with disbelief as she asked, "With me from the past? What trick is he playing?"

"Take it with a big guy. But he calling a truce for this meeting." Timetagger sighed as he knew Ladtbug wasn't buying it, "If you want my advice, this will save the doomed future that you caused."

Ladybug went pale as his last words froze her, without a second thought she answered, "Ok."

Timetagger nodded as he leads the way for Ladybug to follow him. The Vortex immediately took her into an observatory. White butterflies The room is large dome-like and dark. She continued to follow Time Tagger as he leads her to an elevator. Once she stepped in she notices that Timetagger didn't follow.

"Are you coming?" She asked as she now only heard her own steps.

"I'm not allow to go in." He replies sheepishly, she notices he was more scared to even approach.

Marinette understood as she let him pull the lever to go down. She went down what seem to be three levels till it stopped. She took a step out and realized that she was in a large room with arched ceiling, barely lit by the lights along the sidewalls and what appears to be a beam of sunlight from a skylight. She walked on a catwalk that extends the length of the room down in the middle. She saw that the far end of the room to have a tree growing from the floor below with the main wall have a butterfly design. She finally reaches the end of the catwalk where there was a circular platform covered in green vegetation. With grasses and bushes and flowers that lead to a cryogenic pod fogged up.

"Ladybug," A deep voice said from behind her as she was about to touch the pod

"Hawkmoth." She growls as she recognized his voice.

"So you came?" He sats keeping his calm voice. Ladybug hardly recognizes him as he seems tired and worn out from several years.

"I still don't trust you ." She replies.

"I'm not the bad guy." He sighed as he stood there with his cane.

"Then what do you want? And why me?"

"I hurted people for so many years at this point. I only want my happiness."

"So you have gotten low enough to ask for miraculous." Ladybug says almost in amusement.

"So you want answers, Ladybug?" He chuckles to look up at her, "I've forgotten you were always so fiery."

"Hawkmoth." Ladybug demanded.

"You always save the day, but ever stop to realize to what cause." Hawkmoth began.

"What are you talking about?"

"Time is a delicate thing. You can't change the future Ladybug."

"The future is not set in stone." Ladybug replies

"But you can't change the past."

Ladybug pulled out her yo yo feeling threaten, "quit the wordplay."

"Fine, I know you save us from that mischief with Chat Blanc is now a nonexistent timeline." He stated which causes Ladybug to freeze in her stance, "Again, time is delicate. You changed the past to change the future where we all live. However, because you mess with time you just allow a different scenario to occur. A peaceful timeline back to you and me becoming enemies."

"So is this a thank you." She gave a sly a brow.

"No your going to help me because you're a hero." He says sternly.

"I not giving you my Miraculous."

He then pointed at the pod behind her, "that's my wife."

"What?" Marinette says quietly as she approached it and saw a silhouette of a woman, "What happened?"

"A mistake I caused in the past. She used a broken Miraculous charm. She fell ill but went into a coma. Everything I have ever done has been for her to wake up." He sighed in shame, "I only wanted to save her."

"You know there'd be a terrible price to pay in exchange for using my Miraculous" Marinette says as she then looks more closely to recognize the women in the pod. Her eyes widen as she recognizes who she was.

"It can't be as bad to what happened to what happened to my son." He comments.

"Your son? She's Emilie Agreste. So your... so he's Adrien. What happened to him?" Ladybug trembled in asking.

"You wouldn't save his mother." Hawkmoth sighed in disappointment, "He was broken-hearted. He lost trust in you as a hero and a partner. He was the ultimate masterpiece to finally get your miraculous."

"What are you talking about? Partner?"

"Adrien is Chat Noir. You created Chat Blanc again. But, instead of Chat Blanc from ending the world. He creates mayhem to the city each and every day causing a living nightmare for more than a year now." Hawkmoth then pointed up at the window to reveal a destroyed city.

Ladybug was quiet before asking, "Why haven't I stopped him yet?"

"Because he already destroyed you."

"No." Ladybug gasp.

Then Hawkmoth showed a hologram of a news report to show her.

"Chat Noir NO!" The older version of Ladybug cried out.

She saw through the hologram image that Chat Noir held an Akuma right at his heart, "Why won't you help me?"

"Hawkmoth is using you! That's not your mom, she's gone."

"No, she's not. If you love me, you give me your miraculous to save the day."

"Chat Noir..." Ladybug sighed as she looked at the destruction surrounding them of a fallen city.

"There got to be another way." Ladybug pleaded.

"There is." Chat Noir sighed as he pressed the Akuma into his chest.

"No!" Ladybug cried out.

As she cried out Chat Noir leather began to turn white, and an instant his eyes were bright blue, "Then I'll take it." He cries out as he created a white cataclysm.

After that, the hologram went static.

"I didn't believe him..." Ladybug responded disappointedly in herself.

"No," Hawkmoth sighed, "That's why I brought you here. To show you, without haste. To ask you, I know the Hawkmoth of the past is relentless and stubborn."

Ladybug stared at him before asking, "Then what happened next?"

"A war broke out. We destroyed everything to get your miraculous. Then he killed you, I tried to stop him but his anger was greater."

Ladybug anger boiled, "What happened?"

"Everything changed, after losing you I gave up on trying to save my Emilie. So did Adrien...I need to save my son from being Chat Blanc."

"Why not remove the Akuma?" Ladybug argues.

"I did and it was catastrophic. Chat Noir is far more dangerous. Keeping him as Chat Blanc is the safest in controlling him." Hawkmoth sighed, "he's broken, he wants no happiness to exist."

"So what do you want me to do?" She asked, broken-hearted from what happened to her kitty and worst of all that he was Adrien.

"To prevent it. I want you to save my son by saving his mother in your time period. Here its too late. Chat Blanc is no longer the Chat Noir you knew." Hawkmoth pleaded, "Please stop this from becoming his future."

"Um, I..." Ladybug started to stutter with her words, she couldn't trust him

"You made this future happen. So fix it, please." Hawkmoth pleaded.

Tears appear in her eyes she didn't want to believe it but the evidence is stacked upon her. She sigh nervously, "I'll do it."

"Thank you," Hawkmoth says as he created a light purple Akuma, different from his darker one.

Her eyes frowned at him.

"My powers were meant to do good. This Akuma is pure, it will help you. Please take it." Hawkmoth asked her.

Ladybug looked at him and looked him in the eye. There was nothing evil when she looked at him. Only a father trying to get his family back and an enemy who saw the errors of his way. She gave a slight smirk as she took the butterfly into her heart. Nothing happened she felt the hope inside her grow, "I will get your family back together." She promised as she patted his shoulder and walked back on the catwalk to the elevator.

"Thank you Ladybug." He smiled as he went to touch the pod where his wife laid.

Ladybug nodded once she was in the elevator. The elevator door closes as the elevator started moving up.

Soon after Hawkmoth was detransformed into Gabriel who was in torn clothes. Then he heard someone slow clapping from behind him. He turns to look at his audience.

"Bravo Mr. Agreste. You put on quite a show." The women laughed as she appeared out of the shadow. It was Volpina fused with Hawkmoth powers.

Gabriel took a deep breath, "I've held my end of my bargain."

Volpina smirked in amusement, "Right."

She then flick out her flute from her waist and blew a tune which destroyed the illusion that hid his wife tied to a tree, "Emilie!" Gabriel yelled as he weakily ran to go untie her.

She fell into his arms as soon as he did, "Where is my son?" Emilie demanded.

"Being as restless as possible," Volpina says in annoyance as she took away the illusion that was on the pod.

Instead of Emilie's lifeless body was Adrien all tied up. Struggling to be free.

"Ahh Adrien look at what you got your self into. So careless when guarding the moth butterfly that the future is now mine!" She cackled.

"Why do you need the miraculous wish for?" Emilie growled as she ran to try to the pod where Adrien was locked in, "You already have all the power."

"For myself of course." Volpina explains, "Here's a lesson on why I need that . Once you steal something, you spend your whole life fighting to keep it. But if I make a wish, I save the trouble. I can make Adrien mine."

"And I'll never be," Adrien growls as he was finally free and hugged his mother.

"Not with that attitude. Ladybug will fall into the darkness of the Akuma, and everything will go as plan. But this time that wish will be mine."

"Ladybug won't go into the dark," Adrien growled.

"Oh is that a threat kitty?" Volpina snickered as she held out his ring. She quickly grasps it as Adrien tried to take it, "oh it is a threat kitty. Let me ask you this. How do you think we got in this current situation?"

Adrien didn't know how to answer her. He didn't know the answer.

"Lady Misfortune path to darkness started here. Our present life started here but this time, I'm getting that wish. So say goodbye to mummy."

Ladybug didn't know exactly what would happen when she held the Akuma against her heart.

She expected darkness to envelop her. She didn't expect it to feel like a light of confidence inside her. She didn't expect to feel it penetrate every pore, every molecule, every fiber of her being. It was invasive and demanding and terrifying and exhilarating and she felt weak and powerful all at once.

And at once, it was over.

She returns to her rooftop as if no time has passed. Timetagger disappeared in his portal. She landed back on her balcony to transform back into her civilian self.

Marinette was different. Her long blunette hair hung longer and fuller than before no longer in pigtails. Her skin was pale, yet flushed with an unmistakable shimmer. Her eyes were dark, and lined with dark circles. The most startling feature was her calm, eerie smile. There was a new confidence in her.

"Marinette what happen?"

Marinette calmly lied, "oh you know, just sent Timetagger back to be Nino little brother."

"Your job as a hero is never enough," Tikki commented as she yawned.

Marinette smiled, "No Tikki. But your right, I don't need to worry about the future."

"I'm glad you agree." Tikki smiled.

Marinette began to yawn, "Come on let's go to sleep."

Marinette then laid on her bed as Tikki slept on the pillow next to her.

Chat Noir is Adrien. And Chat Noir loves me. Oh no, he's that clown of black leather. But I can't tell him I know. But now more than ever I can't be in love with him.
