《Miraculous Ladybug AU- Soulmates》Ch.18 Happily Ever After

Marinette was helping in the bakery. She was mixing the batter to make cupcakes.
She was bringing the batter over to the oven when she turned around and was startled to find Adrien watching her with a beautiful smile on his face. She was so startled, in fact, that she accidentally threw the batter up in the air. It would've gone everywhere if Adrien hadn't been able to catch it.
Adrien chuckled slightly.
"Sorry, Princess, I didn't mean to startle you," he chuckled. He walked over to her and gave a quick kiss.
It had been a few years since they revealed themselves as soulmates to the world. They were going to graduate university this year. Everyone was happy for them and they themselves had never been happier. Both of them finally had what they never thought they would be able to achieve: true love, happiness and acceptance for who they were.
"Thanks, Adrien," She said and took the bowl back from him. She put the batter in the moulds, taking great care not to spill any, as she was prone to do. Afterwards, she put them into the oven and turned to face Adrien.
"I thought you had a photoshoot today," Marinette said, smiling at him.
"It got cancelled because the photographer caught a really bad cold and couldn't come, so I got the day off," he said. "It was a blessing, really, being able to be with you."
Marinette giggled.
"Well, I'm always happy to see you," she said.
Just then, Sabine and Tom walked in.
"Oh, hello you two lovebirds," Tom said, smiling jovially.
"Marinette don't worry about the cupcakes, we'll deal with them. Go spend some time with Adrien," Sabine said.
Marinette smiled and kissed both her parents on the cheek

"Thanks, mama, thanks Papa. C'mon Adrien let get out of here." He grinned.
Marinette took Adrien's hand and led him out of the bakery. They walked towards the park.
When they got there, they found a bench and sat down.
"It's so nice outside today," Marinette said
"It is indeed," Adrien said.
That's when she looked at him. He seemed to be deep in thought about something.
"M-Marinette..." he started to say. "Now I'm the one stuttering," he laughed.
"What is it, Adrien?" Marinette asked.
"It's nothing, you look beautiful. I just can't believe you're really mine," he said.
Marinette looked at him and blushed. "Well don't worry Adrien, I'm not going anywhere," she said and kissed his cheek.
"Well, I don't plan on letting you go, ever," Adrien said, pulling her into a full-on kiss, which occupied their attention for several happy minutes.
"Hey, are you free tonight? I want to take you out on a date," Adrien asked when they finally pulled apart (somewhat reluctantly.)
"I think I can make time for you in my busy schedule," Marinette teased.
"Then I'll pick you up at 7," Adrien said.
That night Marinette got ready for her date with Adrien. She wore a red dress with a black blazer and black flats. She also decided to let her hair down for tonight.
"Hey honey, Adrien's here," Tom said, peeking his head around the doorframe.
"Thanks, Papa," Marinette said and went downstairs.
Adrien was wearing a simple dress shirt and black pants.
"Hello Princess, you look beautiful, as always," Adrien said.
"Thanks, Adrien, you look dashing," she said, laughing a bit at the old-fashioned language. Well, he was her prince, after all.
"Let's get going, shall we?" Adrien said.

The two went out for dinner at one of their favourite restaurants, an Italian place. Afterwards, they went out for a walk.
Adrien was leading Marinette somewhere, his hand interlocked with hers.
"Adrien where are we going?" Marinette asked.
"It's a surprise," he replied.
They kept walking until Marinette saw where they were going. Up ahead, there was Andre and his ice cream stand. The sweetheart's ice cream maker.
"Ah, the two lovebirds whose heart has finally become one! You two were fated from the very beginning. Here's blueberry and peppermjnt, a perfect match! You two truly make a lovely couple," Andre said while handing them their ice cream.
"Thank you, Andre!" Adrien said and then the two walked off. They picked a bench that had the Eiffel Tower in full view to eat their ice cream. It was a beautiful sight.
"The city is so beautiful," Marinette said.
"Not as beautiful as you," Adrien said.
Marinette looked at him and blushed.
"Careful, you Cat Noir is showing with all that cheesiness," she teased.
"Only for you," he said.
"What's going on with you today. You seem extra flirty," Marinette said.
"Well, today is a... special occasion?" Adrien said, seeming to take his courage in both hands. He took a deep breath.
"A special... occasion?" Marinette asked.
Suddenly Adrien got down on one knee and pulled out a small black box. He had what seemed to be stars in his eyes. She wondered what exactly he was staring at, but as his eyes found hers, she realized it was all her. Everything was for her.
"Marinette, since the day I met you, I've fallen in love with your kindness, bravery and beauty. You bring out the best in me. Ever since I met you, my life has been filled with fun and adventures. You've brought so much light into my life and I can't imagine what my life would be without you. So Marinette, my princess, my lady, will you marry me?"
Marinette was in shock for a moment. She stared at Adrien and then the ring, trying to find her words, before she gave her answer.
"YES! Of course, I'll marry you. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!" Marinette said.
Adrien got up, looking the happiest he'd ever been, and put the ring on her finger. It was a beautiful ring with a black diamond and red ruby on top, inlaid in white gold. It was perfect.
"I love you Marinette," Adrien said.
"I love you too Adrien," Marinette said, and then they kissed, until the full moon's gentle rays began to shine upon them, blessing them for their whole lives.
They were finally together, and nothing would ever keep them apart. The playful kitty and his lady, the knight and his princess, Ladybug and Cat Noir, Marinette and Adrien. Together they could get through anything. It may be the end of this story, but their happily ever after has just begun.

"Then, let joyous news be delivered to those who pass their lives in peace, For it takes only one twist of fate to throw their lives upside down And for those who unfortunate enough to encounter the whims of fate, Let it be reminded to them, that even their lives repeat a hundred times..." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lys Ravenlicht was no hero, nor was he a brave man. And yet, it took only one twist, one twist of fate, before all plans he had laid out for the rest of his life went down the tubes. Join him as he traverse the lands of Fymia, where the arcane had faded into the annals of time and yet persist in the most mundane of things. And as he found himself dragged deeper into a catastrophic series of events that would change his perception of the world, and the course of history for the world itself... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Author's comments: The story was meant to be a satire of the Japanese animanga tropes.... until it got out of hand to the point I'm not sure it's a satire anymore. I hope you can find enjoyment in it nonetheless.
