《A Daughter of Thanatos( Nico di Angelo )》Chapter 24

Andy was still recovering from Violet being gone and I was comforting her.
"It'll be okay, Andy." I whispered to her. She sobbed onto my shoulder.
"Where are we exactly going?" Shadow asked. Nico tossed her a file. She scanned through the paper and her eyes widened. I looked at her confused. "You okay?" I asked. She nodded her head. "We're going to Kansas." Shadow said, shakily.
"And?" I asked. Shadow looked left and right before answering me. "My crazy grandma lives there." She whispered to me. "She's 4 feet 9 of pure crazy!" Shadow exclaimed, throwing her arms up. I laughed a bit. "How could a little, old, defenceless woman be so threatening?" I asked. Shadow shook her head. "Little, yes. Old, yes. Defenceless, ABSOLUTELY NOT! She is anything, BUT defenceless." She screeched.
"Riiight..." I said. I glanced at her and she looked terrified. I shook my head at her and looked back at Andy. "Andy, remember your grandma? She always loved to yell at your pet fish...Pinky?" I asked her, trying to cheer her up. She nodded into my shoulder. Andy looked up. "She always told him to to stop pooping on her bed. And it was her pet bird's fault." She said, sniffling.
Her eyes were a bit puffy and red. I gave her a side-hug. "My grandma liked to pet my head and imagine me as a dog." Cole pitched in. Andy smiled sadly at her boyfriend. "You look like a puppy." She said.
Cole pouted slightly. Andy ruffled his hair and he grinned. "Hold on tight guys." Nico said. Before I could hold onto anything, he drove so fast. I bumped into Andy, which caused her to bump into Shadow. "GAHHH!!!" Shadow screamed. "SLOW THE FUDGE DOWN!" I screamed at him.
"WE HAVE TIME LIMIT TO GET SELENE BACK YA KNOW?!?!?!" Nico screamed back at me. "SHUT UP!" I yelled back at him. Awesome come back, right?

He ignored me and we kept zooming through cities.
I will never get used to this.
"I WANT TO SMACK YOU SO HARD RIGHT NOW!!!" I yelled at him. "THE FEELINGS MUTUAL!" He yelled back at me. I tried to glare at him, which was pretty difficult scince my face was being peeled off... I decided to turn away from him and hold onto the OH SHIT bar. Well, that was what Andy and I called it.
Andy was holding onto Shadow's arm. Shadow's face seemed to be a litle green. "I wanna throw up so bad right now..." She said. That's what I think she said. Her voice was muffled by the rush. "WHERE ARE WE RIGHT NOW?" I yelled into Nico's ear. "OHIO!" He answered. Cole rolled down his windows and the cool wind slapped our faces. "WOOHOO!!!" Cole screamed. He fist-bumped the top of the car. "THIS IS FLIPPIN' AWESOME!"
"Irissa, I'm bored." Leo whined. "Shut up, Valdez." Irissa snapped at him. "But I'm borrrred!!! Ooh! I know, wanna go on date?" Leo suggested.
Irissa's face turned red. "And what makes you think that I'll go on a date with ?" She asked him.
Leo placed a hand over his heart. "Ouch, that one hurt, I." He pouted and Irissa thought it was sorta cute. Irissa blushed at the thought and shook her head. "Don't be cute with me, Valdez." She went beck to tying her shoe. "So you're admitting I'm cute?" He wiggled his eyebrows at her and she rolled her eyes, fighting the blush.
"Don't you have anything better to do than to bother me?" She asked. She got up and started to walk away, but Leo followed her. "Nope!" He grinned at her. She glared at him. "You're so annoying."
"But you love me anyway." He put his arm around her shoulders and she judo flipped him. "As, if." She walked away from him and he smiled like a maniac. "That was hot." He got up and dusted himself off, before running after her again.

"That was horrible." Shadow said. She walked to the side of the street and threw up.
I grimaced at the sight. "Okay, that's enough puking for one day." Andy said. She helped Shadow up and into the car.
We arrived to Kansas about 10 mins. ago. "I officially hate Nico's driving skills." Shadow still looked a little green, but besides that, she seemed to be fine. "You okay now?" Andy asked her. She nodded.
"Hey, Shadow," Nico said. She looked at him. "We need a place to crash for tonight. Where exactly does your grandma live?" Her eyes widened. "W-what?" She stuttered. "Can we crash at your grandma's place?"
"NO WAY. WE WILL NEVER. EVER GO THERE."
......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
"I can't believe you managed to make me tell you where she lives." Shadow said. Nico manged to get the address, by the way. "Don't blame me if you get your butt whooped by her."
I smiled, shaking my head. "Yup, we will totally get our butts kicked by your little old grandma." I said, sarcastically.
"Shh... She might hear you." Shadow said, lowing her voice. I lightly whacked her upside the head. "She can't. Now just relax."
She still seemed alert. I looked away from her and turned my attention towards Andy. "You okay?" I asked her. She nodded her head silently. "I-it's just... Weird." She stared out the window and sighed. "She was like our little sister. How could she do that..." She asked. I frowned. "I don't know, but it's okay now... I think." I said. She smiled a little then looked out the window again.
I sighed and gave her a side hug, "It will get better, I promise." After I said that, I remembered what Violet said.
I felt a shiver crawl up my back. What the hec?
It suddenly felt cold in the car. I hugged myself to keep warmth. "You okay?" Nico asked. I nodded.
The car was silent until Shadow started to get worried about her grandma again. "Can't we just stay at a motel or something? Please! She will make you regret this." Nico ignored her pleas.
"Take a left." She said next. Nico turned left and we arrived to a pale pink house. "Wow, so scary!" Cole said. Shadow shoved him and he fell to the ground. "Ow...." Cole moaned.
She glared at him and he shut up.
She smirked a little before she saw her grandma's house. "We can turn back now, if you want." She said. Nico pushed her aside and rang the doorbell. "Coming!" Said a muffled voice from inside.
The door opened and there was a little, old lady there. She had blonde hair and warm hazel eyes. "Hello, there." She looked at us and then she spotted Shadow hiding behind Cole and Andy. "Blade!" The old woman screamed. Her smile gone and a strict, grim face replaced it.
"Ma'am!" Shadow stepped in front of us and introduced each one of us. "These are my friends. Clarissa, Andy, Nico, and Cole." She looked at us and her smile returned. "Hi, I'm Blade's grandma, but you can call me Grace." She held her hand out and I shook her hand first.
"Hi, I'm Clarissa Walker." She smiled at me. "Hello, sweetie." She said. I jus noticed she had a southern accent.
How was she scary?

Author's Note: (This is my first story, and I would be very thankful if grammatical errors were pointed out. I could also take a few suggestions in the comments if you would. This is less a planned production, and more a little project that I'm winging as it goes. I will try and be consistent with at least 2 chapters a week. Also, as I am a completely new author, the number of words per chapter may fluctuate. The minimum will be around 1000 words, while other chapters may be 2000-3000. It will hopefully only get better with time.)
