《A Daughter of Thanatos( Nico di Angelo )》Chapter 28

"Arggghh! Get back here!" Euryale screeched.
"Come and get me, brah!" I yelled at her.
"I will, for sure!" She tried slashing me with her claws, but I was able to back away in time.
Nico and Shadow were going against Stheno while Andy, Cole and I were going up against Euryale.
Andy tried to back away, but Euryale was too quick. Andy got pushed back and fell to the ground. Cole immediately ran to her side leaving me with her.
"Try a caramel sliced apple! They're on sale right now! You could have gotten a Cheese 'n' Wiener, but they're on regular price now." Stheno persisted.
"You know what?! Why don't you take those stupid 'caramel sliced apples' and stick them up-"
"SHADOW." Nico interrupted her right before she finished her sentence. "Darn you, Nico." Shadow huffed.
"Mean children. No good, no good!" Stheno muttered repeatedly. Euryale glared at her sister. "Stop with that nonsense already! You were like that with the Percy Jackson kid and look what happened, he was able to stop the earth mother from rising with his friends and saved the world. How annoying."
"Geesh, Euryale, that was a long time ago!" The two sisters began to bicker back and forth, not paying attention to us.
Nico glanced over at me as I lowered my sword. He ran over to me.
"What do we do now?" I whispered to him. He looked at Stheno and Euryale and sighed. "They might be like this for a couple more minutes, so that can buy us some time to plan something..."
I huffed. "Question is, what's the plan?" He shrugged and I face-palmed.
"I'll try and get Euryale from behind and you guys sneak up behind Stheno. Kay?"
I nodded. I went over to Shadow, Andy and Cole and told them the plan. "Okay, Stheno will see Nico once he's there and Euryale, will sense him. So once they sense him, we'll come in." Shadow finished.

"Wait," I interrupted Shadow. "If they can sense Nico, won't they already know he's there once he's just a few feet away? How could he sneak up on her?"
Shadow and Cole smirked. "You'll see." Shadow said.
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Wait, what are you not-"
I saw Nico going towards them, but he suddenly was engulfed by darkness.
"Kay, get ready you guys." Cole said. He got into a running stance.
"Wait, what's-" I got interrupted again, when Nico came behind Euryale, still surrounded by darkness. He looked very in focus. He was serious and very intimidating, if ya ask me.
Son of a gun...
That is by far, the hottest thing I have ever seen on him. Well, besides him being shirtless. Sure, his abs were very faint, but abs none the less.
"Eury-" Stheno tried to help her sister, but Shadow covered her mouth.
"Stheno!" Nico stabbed Euryale in the gut.
Euryale broke out into dust. Stheno screamed in fury. Shadow and Cole were holding her down while Andy was just about to strike.
"Foolsss! He already knows you're here. He has no intention of returning Selene to you. He'll destroy you and the world." Stheno hissed.
Andy glared at her. "Shut up, you big, ugly reptilian lady!"
"Flattery will get you nowhere." Stheno chided her. Andy rolled her eyes. She finally struck the arrow at her.
"That lady was so annoying." Shadow said.
"Well, we wouldn't have ran into them if you hadn't went out to the grocery store at the middle of the night!" Andy said.
"I just wanted some carrots..." Shadow said bashfully.
Nico glared at all of them, quieting them down. "Listen, we've only got three more days 'til our times up. We have to find whoever this guy is and get Selene back. I mean, he's only a mortal, this should be simple."

I crossed my arms. "What about the two sisters?" I asked. "She said that he knows we're here. Plus, if it's just a human, how can he be able to destroy the world?"
Nico furrowed his eyebrows. "Maybe he has help? He could just be a cover up, there has to be a huge mastermind behind this."
I nodded. "But who?"
Andy shrugged and yawned. "I don't know, but what I do know is that it's 2am and I'm tired."
Okay, I'm guessing you're wondering why the hell were we fighting Medusa's sisters in the middle of the night. Well, It's story time.
"My tongue is burning..." Andy groaned.
I just finished another bag of hot chips. "Your fault. You knew you couldn't handle hot stuff." I said, munching on another chip.
"Wait, if she can't handle hot stuff, how can she handle me?" Cole asked.
I rolled my eyes. "Cuz' you ain't hot." His jaw dropped.
"It's true you know." Nico mused. "I'm the only hot one here." He boasted.
I coughed. "Excuse you? I just thought I heard you say you were hot. Hahaha, no way in hell."
"You love my body!" He exclaimed.
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, I love your body! Love to stab that body!"
He rolled his eyes.
"Whelp, I see this conversation will be going nowhere, so I'm gonna buy carrots." She said getting up.
"It's late," I said. "You shouldn't go out." She shrugged. "You guys can come if you want to, I don't really care."
"Okay, let's go." I said standing up. Nico stood up too. "Yeah, girls shouldn't go out this late." Nico said.
"Don't worry, Nico. I'll protect you from the scary monsters." I said, slapping his cheek.
"I wanna go to!" Cole shot up and tried to pull Andy up too. "Noooo! I wanna stay." Andy pouted.
"Suit yourself." Shadow shrugged, opening the door.
"Fine! If you guys want me to come so badly, I'll come." Andy stood up and smiled.
"Yay!" Cole said, putting his arm around her shoulders.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah."
We went out and came to a small grocery store. "You guys stay here. I'm gonna get carrots." Shadow said as she left.
"Ooh! Candy!!!" Andy went out and dragged Cole with her.
"So...?" I said.
"Yeah, no." Nico said walking off towards somewhere else. I glared at the back of his head and stomped off somewhere else.
"Jerk."
I looked around and spotted some hot chips.
"Excuse me?" I turned around and saw a lady with very sharp fangs and snakes for hair. Freaking snakes!
"Um, y-yes?" I asked, trying to be polite.
"Would you like a caramel sliced apple? In exchange, your life!"
I guess you already know how things got down.

Flap Merganser: Space Duck
This story began as joke to troll some dude on reddit, but I fell in love with the premise and kind of went crazy writing without any direction or planning. Luckily for me, I spent a couple months convinced I was dying and stepped away from the project. I'm not dying by the way, at least not any more than in the traditional sense. But during that period of inner turmoil, I was able to step back and realize I wasn't too thrilled with the direction this was going. So I have relaunched this project under the name Duck Around and Find Out. Some elements will be the same, and some early chapters may be pretty close to what was in the original draft, but I wanted to get into the action with a bit more haste. That being said, I'm going to leave this up here for now so that you can see how this whole project started. So read it if you want to. Or don't. I don't really care. I'm just happy I don't actually have a terminal cancer.
