《Dr Luthor - Supergirl AU》Blood Bonds

"We aren't sisters, we don't share blood." I took a few steps back and just stared at Alex, hoping that this somehow wasn't her talking.
"What? Alex, you aren't thinking clearly."
"Oh, I see clearly. I see how you have always wanted me to hide myself. To hide my talents just so you can feel better about being adopted." I choked back tears as I heard my sister spill the truth about how she felt. "Aw, did I make you cry?" She waved the knife around, looking like she was planning to do more than just play with it. She glared at something behind me and when I turned around, I almost vomited.
"Lena, run," I said calmly, trying not to freak out at the way my sister was eyeing off my girlfriend. "What's gotten into you? Alex, this isn't you!" I stepped closer but she didn't like it. She swung the knife at me but I ducked and grabbed her wrist when she went to do it again.
"Let me go!" She yelled and jerked her hand back, leaving a clean cut on my wrist. I used my other hand to stop the bleeding but this meant that I was completely vulnerable to Alex's next swing.
I put my hands on my knees and tried to catch my breath. Lucky I had fighting skills because I would probably have failed to knock out my sister. My vision got blurry and I started seeing black dots everywhere. Lena appeared at my side and helped me to the couch.
"Is she..."
"I wouldn't kill my own sister, Lena. She's just unconscious." I looked over at Alex, tears were already starting to stain my shirt. Lena ran over to the kitchen and grabbed my phone and a first aid kit. She ran back to me and started dressing the wounds on my face. While she did that, I grabbed a band-aid and put it over the cut on the back of my wrist.

"You should call someone. Maggie, maybe?"
"Yeah, good point." I took dialled the number and waited for an answer. "Hey, Maggie."
"Hi, what's up?"
"Did you see Alex this morning? Did she seem off?"
"Well, yeah. She kind of scared me when she slammed the door and said she was going to see you at your apartment."
"Well, she came in and caught Lena and me in bed."
"What?" She exclaimed, sounding similar to how Alex did.
"She was angry and saying things like 'We aren't real sisters' and that I 'made her hide herself'. It sounded like she was being sincere."
"She would never say things like that and do you really think it's her? What happened next?"
"Then she attacked me with a knife. You should get here soon."
"Wait, slow down. She attacked you? Why?" Maggie sounded genuinely worried about me. That would be a first.
"I don't know but you should get here soon."
"Why?"
"She is unconscious in the kitchen."
Maggie arrived after a painful half hour of waiting with Lena trying to take care of all of my cuts and bruises, especially the one from last night. She swallowed hard when she saw Alex on the kitchen floor, gasping when she saw Lena and me.
"Are you two okay?"
"We are fine but Kara has lost quite a bit of blood. She also refuses to get the bruise from last night checked out."
"Last night?" Maggie raised an eyebrow but before I could speak, Lena tried to tell her the truth.
"I pushed..." I cut her off, not wanting Lena to get in any more trouble.
"I fell into a glass table. The bruise didn't even show up for a while. I am fine."

"All of that is from Alex?" Maggie pointed at my face and right arm. I nodded and stood, walking over to the unconscious woman in my kitchen. She started stirring and I knelt down next to her.
"What did you hit me with?" She said in a monotone way. As if she were a robot that had taken over my sister.
"Frying pan."
"Did I kill anyone?" She stared at the roof, only looking over at me when I shook my head 'no'. "Your arm!" She started crying and she sat up. "I didn't mean what I said, I swear. I couldn't control anything, I don't know what's going on. Kara, I'm so sorry."
"My arm will heal. This will too. You are my sister, I will always forgive you. I love you." I pushed some hair off her face. "We need to figure out what is going on. Why did you all of the sudden lose all control?"
"I don't know, Kara. You have to believe me. I am so sorry!"
"I'm sorry about what I said!" She sobbed.
"You mentioned that already." I was still holding her and trying to calm her down.
"I didn't mean it."
"You have also said that too." Maggie made her way over to us and grabbed Alex out of my arms, leading her to the couch that we had been sitting on before. I stayed in the kitchen as Alex and Maggie talked.
"Kara?" I walked to Alex and grabbed her hand.
"What is it?"
"Why do you still care? After all that I did, why do you still give any sort of rat's ass about me?" She looked me right in the eyes and I did my best to answer with a quote I had seen in a comic book once.
"Blood bonds us all."
